Hi TiffJake!
That's great that you're losing at a good pace!

There are a few reasons why we would cause a stall. Hidden sugars, carbs, metabolism, to many legal carbs or what ever the reasons are that Dr A mentions.

But on thing is our body does need to adjust to the losses and at that time we may be losing inches. So a stall is a stall if it's for a certain amount of time. I don't think 2 weeks is considered a stall.

I stopped losing weight last Oct and have not really lost anything until recently. But I think with me, it was eating the wrong foods. But now that I'm back on track, I have been losing.

I hope that helps!

Ha

Thanks Diana! I don't want to lose too fast if it will cause problems or something. You think this is a good pace? Don't get me wrong, I am super happy. I just want to be healthy too

B: Beef Jerky and Cheese Stick
L/D: Alice Springs Chicken at Outback with all broccoli for side.
Haven't been too hungry today, but really tired.

good morning! although I'm suffering major frustrations here.

Yesterday I thought I did really good and got up this morning to 1.5 pound GAIN.

Here's what I had:

breakfast: 2 slices ham (about 3 oz) and a healthy heaping of scrambled eggs (we went out). water. had a cup of regular before we left the house.

lunch: green salad (about 3 cups iceberg mix) with 4 radishes, one scallion, 1/4 green pepper and one can of water packed tuna, drained. 2+tbs commercial dressing ... no sugars added, 1 g carbs per 2tbs.

snack: 1 ounce macadamias (I know I know nuts aren't permitted on induction because people like me tend to overeat them. (these were measured out for my failed fat fast)

dinner: NY strip about 3 ounces, one large king crab leg with claw (I figure about 1 cup max of meat), 2 tbs melted butter, 1/2 cup or so broccoli with blender hollandaise sauce on it.

before bed snack of 2 squares of a chocoperfection bar (about 3g carbs before subtracting the fiber).

I had probably 4 mugs of cold brewed decaf during the day and I MEASURE out 1.5 tsp of cream per cup. I use liquid splenda so no carbs there.

Since the first of March I have eliminated ALL grains from my diet, all starchy vegetables, all fruit and ALL SUGAR. Yet I keep gaining weight.

aughhhhhh.

So today. I'm going to do 5 smallish meals and snacks.

prebreakfast: mug of regular coffee with 1.5 tsp cream and liquid splenda

breakfast: one sausage muffin and one cup cold brewed decaf with the usual

midmorning: 2 deviled eggs (2 hard boiled egss, yolks mixed with 1tbs mayo and some dry mustard)

lunch: Schwarzbein's california chicken salad good for 6g carbs

midafternoon ... leftover poached chicken from lunch dipped in mayo/mustard

dinner: grilled sirloin burger on 2 oopsies; asparagus spears with butter

snack: (if I'm hungry) tuna mixed with mayo on celery sticks

I'll probably have 3 more mugs of CB decaf during the day with the usual, maybe a cup of herbal tea. and LOTS of water.

anyone see anything "wrong" with this menu ... please by all means SPEAK UP cause I'm getting desperate.

Hi Ladies! HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

Hi, Darleen! I think your menu looks wonderful, I can only think that maybe from the veggies you're eating that you're just retaining water. As long you're drinking water apart from everything else you're drinking, you may see the water weight go down.
That's the only thing I can think of.
Just make sure there are no hidden carbs or sugars in dressings, ham, or anything else that looks like it could contain that.
But other than that to me your menu looks great! Unless someone else can see anything.
Have a great day!!!

Hi Jen! How wonderful that you are being pampered today! I hope you get to kick you feet up and just relax!!!
How did your day go yesterday, did you have a good time?
Have a wondeful day today!!!

Hi Christina! Have a great dinner tonight! Seafood sounds awesome!! I hope you have a wondeful day and that you have a fantastic time!!!

Hi Tiff! If we're eating how we're suposed too, then we'll lose at the rate that our body will allow! I've read how some women lose 5 lbs in a week. I actually lost 5lbs in a week when I was doing Stillmans. I felt great too!
But like I mentioned before, if you're losing fast right now, don't be surprised if your body stops losing. Don't worry it's normal. Your body is adjusting to, but just keep eating what you have been eating. Don't tweak it, just wait and let you body do the adjusting and then shortly after you'll start losing again.

Hi Viv, good to see you too!! I hope you get unbusy so you can come hang out with us soon!
How's everthing going besides that? I hope you're eating is good and that you'll see a loss too!!
Have a great day!!!

Hi Mary, Hi Rachel, Hi Laura, Hi LCR, Hi Rena, Hi Lin, Hi Chris, Hi Jaimie, Hi Tricia, Hi buddysgirl, Hi to All I missed!! I'm sorry if I have!!
I hope you all are having a great day today and hope to talk to you soon!!!

LOVE YOU LADIES!!!!

Does anyone know if Amoxicillin cause stomash pain?

I've had a sore throat and my doctor put me on Amoxicillin. Ive been taking it since Thursday and since Friday afternoon, I have a dull gasy heartburn kind of pain that comes and goes. Anyone know if the antibotics may cause it?

Well I weighed in and I have lost 4 pounds since Sat May 3 when I started my Induction. Now ready to start week 2. I have to say that the Oopsie Rolls are my life saver. I have them for breakfast, lunch and even one for supper. But boy am I going through the cream cheese and eggs I noticed that they can be frozen so I guess I will make up a couple of batches so that I am not making them every day. Gotta make some more cream cheese clouds also. I made twelve the last time and only have 2 a day for dessert. I sure hope my Atkins DANDR 2002 book arrives soon. I got the Atkins shopping guide,Atkins Quick and Easy Diet Cookbook and also Dana Carpender's "500 Low-Carb Recipes" I just love Amazon.com..lol..I got each book for under 2.00.
Well I made my own Mothers Day breakfast..Hubby offered to take me out but I figured I would prefer my own bacon and Oopsie french toast. Why take chances..and for lunch I had two oopsie rolls and egg salad. Supper is going to be cornbeef and a turnip with a small salad.

I have not even gone into the ketosis every one talks about though. It read trace once. I wonder if my diabetic meds (metformin) could be preventing it??
Well I sure hope you all have a wonderful day..

Here you go Laura!

Cleochatra's Best Ever RevolOopsie Rolls

3 large eggs
1 pkg Splenda
dash of salt
pinch of cream of tartar
3 ounces cream cheese (not Tbsp!) Do not soften!

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Separate the eggs and add Splenda, salt, and cream cheese to the yolks. Use a mixer to combine the ingredients together. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff (if you're using the same mixer, mix the whites first and then the yolk mixture). Using a spatula, gradually fold the egg yolk mixture into the white mixture, being careful not to break down the whites. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray and spoon the mixture onto the sheet, making 6 mounds. Flatten each mound slightly.

Bake about 30 minutes (You want them slightly softer, not crumbly). Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes, and then remove to a rack and allow them to cool. Store them in a bread sack or a ziplock bag to keep them from drying out.

Makes 6@ about 85 calories a piece, >1 carb per

Way to go buddysgirl! That's great!!! Whoohoo!!
I'm sorry I can't answer about the diabetic meds, but I know Atkins does mention something about that in his book.
You are all set for a successful weight loss with all infor you've got and getting!! That's the key to losing!!
Keep up the good work!!

Laura, on the amoxi, I don't know if it's because you have to eat something when you take it. But the pharmacist should have told you the side affects or given you something showing this. Your best bet would be to contact the pharmacy and ask them. Sorry I couldn't be much help.

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers out there! Just thought I'd pop in for a moment. Hubby leaves again in the morning so won't see him again until next Saturday

Both my sons called and I got a chance to talk to my grandkids which is always nice. Wish they lived closer.

Had scrambled eggs and canadian bacon for breakfast. Didn't really do lunch because I wasn't that hungry. Will probably have some chicken for dinner and whatever else we decide on. I'm not really good at planning ahead. I'm more of a "spur of the moment" kind of person.

I'll try and check back in later but, if not, I'll see ya'll tomorrow.....

Mary

Two entrepreneurs, Jack and John, decided to start a bungee-jumping business south of the border. They went to Casa del Sol, Mexico, built a huge platform, and opened for business.

By noon the first day, they both noticed that while everyone was watching, no one was buying tickets.

Jack told John to go up and jump, so everyone could see how much fun it was, and then they would buy tickets and try it.

John jumped, almost reached the ground, and sprang back up. Jack saw that his shirt was torn and his hair was mussed.

John came down again and sprang back up. This time he had several bruises and his clothes were ripped to shreds.

The third time down and back up, and he had several open wounds, a broken arm, and was bruised over most of his body.

Jack quickly raised John to the platform and asked him what in the world was going on.

John replied, 'I'm not sure. Do you know what 'pinata' means?'

Cream of tartar is with the spices- it helps baked goods to rise and hold their shape (stuff like meringues, too). Measure your 3 oz on the cream cheese package- I think the small packages are 3 oz?

Good luck with your baking

Hi Mary, Ah glad to hear you got a call from you sons and was able to talk to the grandkids too! I bet that made your day!! I wished they lived closer to you too.
Have a great evening!!

Hi Laura,
3 oz is probably less that 1/4 cup. But when you get the cream cheese block it will have the lines on it on the wrapper, and cut at 3. There's your 3 oz.
The cream of tartar like Michelle said will be in the spice section at the store. It will be a small bottle. You'll find it where the cinnamon and cloves, are.

Here's Cleo's blog about Oopsies.

wow. everyone is doing so WELL!

Had a menu change ... skipped the afternoon snack and had grilled pork chops for dinner with some fresh steamed green beans with butter (my FAVE!). It was just yummy. I have the chicken and now a pork chop for snacks so if I get hungry later I can just do that.

We'll see what the scale says in the morning but my stix BARELY show a touch of pink. I am getting SO discouraged.
