Hola Senorita's!!!

Boy it's been a busy morning! Still busy, but wanted to say Hi those who I didn't see this morning!

LOL! Jaimie!!! So a joker lurks underneath the exterior huh??!!! LOL!!!
You just HAD to say Pinot Griggio, didn't you!! Another favorite of mine!!!
Sounds like a great lunch, what time should I be there.
Have fun and enjoy!!

Hi Laura, , Hon, I'm sorry about what you're going through, it's rough and I hope you get through this. I hope your dad will be okay.
I just also wanted reiterate what Chris said. Sometimes I do the same, I'l plan too, but I change my mind at times too. But in case I'll have that food there waiting for me for another day.
I usually will have some low sodium deli turkey to munch on and I make alot of hard boiled eggs too. That's always a life saver. You can make egg salad or tuna salad a head of time. Cut up some celery sticks and eat that with the salad.
I hope that everything goes well for you and that you don't have to totally give up on LC. Mentally, it helps! If you load up on high carbs you will most likely feel groggy and foggy. At least lc will help you stay alert. Just my humble opinion.

Hi Chris! Yes the early bird that fell back asleep!! I planned on exercising and got really tired and fell asleep for about 30 min! My exer time!!
Oh well there is always tomorrow. I need my caffiene back too, in a big way. Ugh!!
So how are you doing. You're more concerned for others and never mention what you're up too! We love you and care about you too!!!

Hi Darleen, oh yeah, that chicken sounds great! I may have to try that. And I bought some chicken too!!
I hope you got your plumbing taken care of!
Time to do the fat fast again. I hope you get some even better results with it again!!

Hi Jen, wow, driveby and fly! LOL!!! You are a busy one. You're Welcome Sweetie!!! Any time! I hope you're doing well you have a great day!!!

Hi Tricia, oh, I hope you're okay. Maybe heartburn or something like that? Maybe try taking an antiacid or something. Yes, I would go with a low sodium bacon. That's what I will buy. If you feel strange, don't hesitate to see the dr.

Hi Christina, I wish you would get in here!!

Well, call me a trouble maker (I'm not short enough to be a troll, LOL).

The first time I thought about doing a fat fast I posted over on the "official" board and was soundly hammered for my efforts. I was told the fat fast was "dangerous" and basically that my kidneys would asplode.

Well, after doing it for 2 days a couple? of weeks ago I am doing it again. I don't think I went long enough because I never got the stix to turn dark. Barely into the "small" category. My body is simply refusing to let go of the stored fat. I'd call that metabolically resistant in anyone's language.

So anyhoo. I posted over there again telling them I thought they were mistaken. After all, people all over the planet fast all the time using juice or water. The only difference is that on a fat fast, you're getting 1000 calories a day of mostly fat so you don't feel hungry. THERE's the danger. More than 4 or 5 days and you risk cannibalizing your muscle tissue. If you AREN"T metabolically resistant (which I believe I am) Dr. A says you'll lose weight too fast which can be a problem.

and they're jumping on me again. Wow. I'm sure they're well meaning but I think they've taken Dr. A's caveat a bit too far. After all, if it were THAT dangerous why the heck did he put it in the book along with instructions on how to do it???

Gotta run. Diana, I'm having my leftover chicken for my 3rd meal today. mmmmm.

Darleen,

Where are you posting about the Fat Fast? I went to the Main Lobby and can't find anything.

If Dr. A wrote it, I am inclined to believe it! I have been diagnosed as Metabolically Resistant, so when I looked back in my Atkins Books, I was able to find the info right there! I think it may be a great tool for people like me.

Peace

Darlene, so sorry about the other board. YOUR opinion about your body is the only one that counts. Don't worry about what others say on boards.. ONLY this board counts.. lol.. I know I know . that was mean. However it really irks me when people are so mean spirited. I was taught if you don't have something nice to say ,or helpful to say then keep quite. I did get the nice n helpful part down ..I've never mastered the quite part.lol

Again don't worry about mean spirited people. After all they prolly just hungry n truly miserable to begin with.

As my Mom use to say. " Even God couldn't please them ".

Stick with us girlfriend. we'll try to help you.

Well ladies, I just thought I'd pop back in for a couple of minutes. My salad was great except for the olives. By the time I picked them out I think half my salad was gone .

It's so nice to see so many new people joining our fantastic group. You can't go wrong being here not to mention all the help, support and great recipes. I thought I'd pass this one along. It makes about 8 servings at less than 3g per serving. Hope you like it.

Fried Ice Cream

5 egg yolks
3 tspn vanilla
8 tspn splenda
1/4 cup water
2 cups heavy cream
2 tbspns butter
2 tbspns splenda brown sugar
1 tspn ground cinnamon

Place yolks, vanilla and splenda in small bowl and mix with a mixer until well blended. Pour slowly into whipped cream mixing with mixer after each addition. Mix well. Pour into freezer tray or any container that is freezer safe and place in freezer. Let freeze overnight. Melt butter in small saucepan. Add brown sugar and cinnamon. Place serving of ice cream in a bowl and drizzle some cinnamon mixture on it. Delicious!!!

I think I'll make some this weekend when hubby gets home.

See you all later and have a terrific evening. Christina and Diana, I'll be waiting for the webcam session.....woohoo!!!!

Mary

I thought this was cute. I hope it doesn't offend anyone.

I was in Wal-Mart buying a large bag of Purina for my dog Lola and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. (Hmm, one of those "here's your sign" times). I was feeling a bit crabby so on impulse, I told her no, I was starting the Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I had ended up in the hospital last time, but I lost 50 pounds before I had awakened in an intensive care unit with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms.

Her eyes about bugged out of her head. I went on and on with the bogus diet story and she was totally buying it. I told her that it was an easy, inexpensive diet and that the way it works is to load your pockets or purse with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The package said the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.

I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was, by now, enthralled with my story, particularly a tall guy behind her. Horrified, she asked if something in the dog food had poisoned me and was that why I ended up in the hospital.

I said no, I'd been sitting in the street licking my butt when a car hit me. I thought the tall guy was going to have to be carried out the door laughing.

Hi Darleen, it seems to me that they don't know about the fat fast. I have heard and read about it myself on the Atkins book. Atkins also say's that if you have bad kidneys to begin with, then one would have problems, that's why he encourages getting checked out by a dr prior to doing Atkins, or any way of eating for that matter.
Just keep doing what you're doing and don't worry about what anyone says!

I've been trying to post this for about an hour, lol but I've been busy at work. So I'll post more when I get home!

Talk to you soo!!

Good evening ladies just stopped in to say Hello

Darleen don't worry about what others say. you are not going to make yourself sick by overdoing it. As long as you do it correctly by the book you should be fine. You know your body so you know if you are resistant or not.

Mary that ice cream recipe looks so good thanks for it.

Rachel you crack me up! I hope you have a great vacation!!! Sounds like you will be staying in a nice condo.

yankeefan-this is a great group of people You will love it here!

Diana- I am doing fine just plugging away still under 20 carbs today. TOM should have visited today but not yet....soon I am sure because I was really crabby with DS yesterday so I know it is coming. I am just going to keep trying atkins 92 no net carbs trying to keep up with my water I do better with that on exercise days. No caffeine. I am having wine this weekend though. Hopefully won't damage anything. then maybe I'll see a loss. Kinda giving up hope...not my WOE though. I have never left ketosis but not losing I domn't get it

Hey Christina where are ya we miss you!
