Diana, your tuna muffins are to die for.. I used ground turkey instead of tuna..I added a lot of ground sage to give it the sausage taste.. I'm hooked. So easy.

hello everyone!!

i would love to join your thread! i will be starting induction tomorrow, i just bought the updated copy of, DANDR and will begin reading asap!

after i had my dd, i lost alot of weight on ww.... however, i found that i was hungry all the time and new that i could not count points for the rest of my life.....tried SBD and although i think it is a good program, not the perfect one for me. i was once again, always feeling hungry!!! i got to thinking about this, and came to the conclusion, that the whole low fat business was not working for me. eating foods with a bit of good fats, keeps me FULL. i know this needs to be a lifestyle change, not a quick fix.....i did atkins as my woe before i had my dd, with fantastic results. after finding out i was pregnant i stopped completely, thinking that i was unable to continue this woe while pregnant.

i just feel like the lc way of life is better for me. i never have been able to control the cravings that i have when eating a high carb/high sugar diet. i really think the atkins approach is the key to helping me have more control over my eating habits!!

looking forward to getting to know you all......

off to the grocery store i go!!

Hi Vivian..Welcome!! Sure...ask away and we will answer any question you might have!

Molly..here is the recipe for the sausage muffins with my tweak to them. They have 2 carbs per serving.

Low Carb Sausage Muffins

1 pound sausage, cooked
5 eggs extra large eggs, beaten
3 ounces onion, minced
6 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
dash pepper
1/4 cup green pepper, diced

1. Brown Sausage off in Skillet Drain

2. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees

3. Drain Sausage and add other ingredients, mixed together, and put in greased muffin tins. Bake at 350 for 30 min or until Golden Brown.

Hint..if you have Silicon muffin cups use them.

I have taken a Sinus headache..going to go lay down for a few..be back in a couple of hours!

HUGS
Christina

P.S. You can use Canned Tuna, Salmon or even Ground Chuck and make these and even leave out the onion and pepper if you dont want it in them

Hi guys! ok, ooops!! i gave you the WRONG yahoo address! hahaha

It's been awhile since i used it, so I sorta forgot it! I just signed in to make sure tho and this is me (for sure!!) it's:

jennie_lee1971@yahoo.com

Sorry! My bad!

I have to admit too that i was not totally on track today, I had 2 slices of regular pizza at lunch today. I feel so bloated though now and almost sick, I think from that bread/crust since I'm not used to it now! I was good this morning and will be good rest of day. I had to allow a small splurge today, so since I went in half on a pizza and only ate 2 slices I think I did ok. Gotta love Little Caesars!!

Chris - those muffins sound tastey! I think I would have to try w/something other than sausage, I'm not a big sausage fan and it doesn't like me too well either. I bet it would be pretty easy to switch out stuff for it though like you said.

Diana- yeah, those fried cheese things look great. i just need some parchment paper. i wonder how waxed paper does insted? ever try??

Ladychurchill - i think you asked about the traveling right? i wasn't lucky enough to go out of the country as a military brat, each time they sent dad mom would insist on us staying state-side. but we had alot of friends from other countries and nationalities so got to be introduced to new things, loved seeing their pics (i think that is when it started for me!!) - i have been to every state on the Eastern seaboard though, love to travel and want to pick back up and try to head overseas for vactions. esp now kids are getting older and all - one ready to move out soon so may be easier than towing them along! hahaha

wow! a few of you have posted losses and that is great!! i'm hoping to show a diff by monday when i plan on weighing again. i want to get ready and go exercise but that darn pizza is sitting heavy for sure! it's been over 3 hrs all ready!

hope to see some of you on YAHOO! now that i gave you my correct ID!!

Restarting Induction today. I had been doing really low carb all week, but had some birthday cake on Monday and didn't plan well for the rest of the week.
I love the Atkins program because I like meat/eggs/cheese/fresh veggies. But the convenience of junk food and sweets is always my downfall.
I have promised myself to stay committed to making it work this time.
Enjoy reading all of your posts, very encouraging!

Jen ,and Molliesmom I made my sausage muffins using ground turkey and adding some ground sage. I'm sure any meat would work. well maybe not possum ..lol

Mine made so much that instead of using a muffin tin I used a pryex dish , and cut into squares..still muffins to me.

Since it was for breakfast I left out the peppers n onions .

I used 5 eggs , splash of half n half ( any milk would work ) 1/2 cup cheddar cheese , ground turkey , bake on 325 for about 25/30 minutes. till knife comes out clean.

I'm a true Southern cook I rarely measure anything. I cook by sight..lol

Melissa, welcome and CONGRATS

I feel so left out...I don't use yahoo...can anyone join in?

I am having a fantastically on plan day! We just got home from freezing cold, spring little league, so my hynie is trying to warm up! The weather here is cold and rainy, but not rainy enough to cancel the ball games. That's ok, I really like to go if it is not a night I work. There are so few times in the kids lives when we can be completely present, it is a gift.

Plus, DS1 was amazing, again! He has really hit his stride with this sport, and thank God, because he is such a fan Because I am a dance teacher and all my kids take lessons, I tell the boys they are good at sports because they dance...and now that they are having much success with sports, their friends are thinking dance may be a good thing!

Hugs to you all, praying for a whoosh in the morning!

Hey ladies,

Hope everyone had a great day!! TGIF!! Glad you guys liked the pics. We just picked up the video and it was so great to relive the day as it went by so fast. It was like a blur at times.

doinitforme your pictures are amazing and so inspiring. You look so great and I bet you are so proud of yourself.

Well, I ate so much again today but actually feel full tonight and found that I didn't have as much heartburn and IBS today. Did anyone have this problem when eating high carb foods?? Had a real stressful day at school and the kids were very noisy and would not settle down. I guess they are ready for school to be over so they can enjoy the weather. I can't blame them and it is such a joy to see them go through the learning process. Today was the first day that I actually had to take recess away and it was so beautiful outside but I had to stick to my guns.

Was really craving a burger today so hubby and I went to Ruby Tuesday and I had their salad bar with the Turkey, avocado and cheddar cheese burger with a side of broccoli. Very yummy!!! You guys should really try it.

B - 2 egg whites, handful of almonds, small apple
L - small chicken breast with mustard, small Greek strained yogurt (My family would be insulted if they knew that I had Greek yogurt Just kidding. I crack myself up. The Greeks and Turks have been arguing about food for years like who invented Baklava???
D - Ruby Tuesday, iced coffee with half and half, piece of sugar free chocolate (split it from Godiva with sis in law), 3 oz LC vanilla protein shake

Didn't really stay too low carb but am really trying and improving everyday.

Any exciting plans this weekend ladies?? I am heading to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch with a friend tmrw. Any suggestions to stay good???

Hi Ladies!

Arzu, the salmon salad is really good! I had that before.
I've been wanting to go to Ruby tuesday too! Sounds delicious!

My exciting thing is to get my oil changed and the brakes looked at. Then make some rev rolls! Oh and put a roast in the crok and that's my day!!

I would love to have some wine, but I better not!
