Good morning sisters.....

Wow, I can't believe how sick everyone has been. I've been very lucky in that department. I don't think I've been sick for a couple of years now and I'd like to keep it that way. However, I have a few aches and pains I'd like to get rid of. Old age is kicking in

to stormy and arzu. It's always nice having new people join us. I think you'll find that the ladies in here are a wonderful bunch to help reach your goals. Glad to see you!!

Looks like I'll have to start putting my bird feed inside from now on or at least until I get my screen fixed. It seems that the spline on the bottom of one of the screens on our pool cage came undone and a squirrel got in and tried to chew the top off of the bird seed container. Probably because it has sunflower seeds in it. The squirrels are cute but they're really starting to irritate me. They eat my mangos, papayas, quava's and any other food they can get that grows in my yard. I wouldn't mind so much if they would just eat one instead of taking a bite out of a bunch and leaving them

The 30/30/30 sounds like fun. I'll look into it.

Well, I have to go do my workout. I'll check back in with you later. Have a blessed day!!!

How to use bathroom scales

When using bathroom scales, these simple rules must be followed:

1. Always place the scale on thick shag carpeting.

2. Hold tightly onto the sink or shower rod (both when possible) and gradually release the weight of the body onto the scale.

3. Make sure needle placement is accurate by cautiously adjusting the little round knob on the centre-front, very slowly to the left. (Zero is a wide number and should be treated accordingly.)

4. WARNING: Stay away from digital scales. (They are not properly adjustable and therefore inaccurate.)

5. Do not weigh yourself constantly. Every time you stand on the scales it stretches the little springs and wing nuts inside and slowly presses them flat - the result, even with no weight gain whatsoever, is that the scale makes you appear to weigh a little more each time.

Good morning everyone! I see LadyChurchill beat me to the punch this a.m.!!

Drug my butt into work again but I am stopping at a doc-in-the-box on the way home to get checked out.

today my menu is:

b-egg subst. omlette w/some tomato pcs and peppers topped w/some shredded cheese and tea
s-string cheese
l-tbd
d-ckn brst (not sure how yet) prob w/spinach salad on side

LOTS of water! of course!!

I did like the "how to weight yourseld" that Lady posted!! You sure come up with some good ones!! I love 'em!!

I saw the link Chris posted for the 30/30/30 but i'm afraid to try that yet. esp since i haven't felt like exercising because I can't breathe w/this cold! but that is a really good idea! I may have to jump in the next challenge.

thanks for the turnip ideas!! i've never ever had them and have always wondered what they are like. maybe i will try cleo's scalloped "potatoes" w/those and try them out. do they have much of a taste on their own? you guys are so full of ideas i just LOVE it!! it's been easier to stick to the LC seeing the variety you guys make of your menu's so you don't get bored w/the same ol' stuff.

i hope all have a great day! if you are home today, take a nap for me! hope everyone starts feeling a bit better.

i'll bbl..

Back at it again! You may be right, abdominal surgeries are not fun & may be the cause. I'll double check with my doc, as he told me if was safe to go back to doing atkins as long as I felt good, but if i started feeling bad or sick in any way to up the carbs. As he said "You are still recovering & your boby needs certain things to build back up & heal" Gotcha Doc! So, Thanks for the advice, You are probably right about the tummy.

You are from Turkey? What a wonderful country. I lived in Ankara for two years and loved Istanbul. I look forward to going back sometime. I don't remember a lot of the language because I was very young but I remember how to count 1 - 10, say hello and goodbye....lol

I love to see people joining from other countries. I've spent a lot of my time in other countries. It's such a rewarding experience learning about other cultures.

I hope you'll post some of your recipes on here so that we can all enjoy them. There are a couple of Egyptian recipes that I'm going to try and adapt to LC. If anyone else on here has recipes from other countries I hope you'll add to the list. How exciting!!!

Mmmm- I, too, would love to try the Turkish recipes. I have been wanting to try a Greek one I found recently if I can get to the grocery store! I don't think I have ever had Egyptian food, but I love to try anything new, so bring it on! I am just a Southern girl- so any of my "native" food would have to be breaded, deep fried and drowned in gravy Although- I have been playing with trying the cauliflower-rice in a sushi type recipe-the Nori wrappers have low carbs and count as a veggie (right?? ) Anyway- busy day ahead so I need to avoid the computer distraction if I'm going to get done with everything! Hope you all have fabulous day!

GOOD morning all! The fat fast is going well. Down 2 pounds this a.m. Although I'm pretty sure most of that 10 pound gain was water retention.

going forward with another day at it:

1. 2 ounces brie
2. 1 ounce macadamias
3. 2 deviled eggs made with 2 tsp mayo
4. 1 ounce macadamias
5. 2 ounces cream cheese with splash of DV sf syrup

Feeling pretty good. Was feeling hungry? slightly nauseous? last night but it passed. Gritted my teeth and went to bed. Am trying for 4 days but am flexible. Depends on how much more weight drops off.

Blessed Thursday Everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around much to encourage and support.

I have lost 3 pounds since Sunday. I have been having such a hard time getting under 177, so I am not celebrating yet, but it is nice to see the scale inching down.

Peace friends

Good Morning Beautiful Ladies!!!

Hi Mary, boy you had me on that bathroom scales joke! I was thinking, "oh really?" LOL!!! I'm so gulliable!!!
I can't wait until you try those Eygptian recipes as low carb! That would be wonderful!!! That's pretty cool that you have those fruit trees growing in your yard. Are they easy to grow? How can those little critters take on bite and leave it! I would think they'd want to eat the whole fruit!! Oh I would love to see that!!

Hi Jen, "doc-in-the-box"? That's a good one!! Does that mean it's a fast drive-thru place! I hope you get to feeling better. Have a great day at work!!! Oh and do try the turnips. I made my sisters recipe and I absolutely love them!!

Hi Stormy!! It's really great for you to join us!! I hope you stick around and we can get to know you.
These Ladies here are real Sweethearts!!!
I hope you figure out what you can eat. I know nuts stall me too, but if you were to eat them I would go with the all natural, unsalted kind for now. They are so much better. I hope you have much success with the induction!!

Hi Arzu! Oh, nothing like doubling your trouble huh!! TOM and cold!! Yikes!! I hope you don't get to feeling too bad. Oh, oh, other recipes we can try!! Yes, if you can wing it, post it when you feel they are successful!! Love that!! I hope you have a great day!!

Michelle, what a great idea using cauliflower in nori! Then you can add the avocado, crab meat and cucumber!! Oh that sounds really good!
How can we be bored with food, when we have all these different varieties!! Have a super day!!

Darleen! Wow that's fantastic!! At least you saw a loss, and soon it will be fat! That is great!! I hope you continue to have success with this!!! Whoohoo!!

Hi Jaimie! Missed you yesterday! You're doing well Jaimie, no need to worry, you'll see those lbs drop! One day at a time!! Hang in there okay!

Hi Chris! Hi Christina! Hi Rachel! Hi LowCarbRunner! Hi Beauty! Hi Tiff! Hi Trish! Hi Tuscany! I hope you all are doing great!! Talk to you soon!!!

Congrats Jamie and Darleen on the losses KUTGW!!!!!

Me? no I haven't lost yet but I am feeling thinner. Still down 2 inches in my abs so I am just plugging along. I did decide to go back to Atkins 92 which is basically 2 salads or salad veggies a day or one salad and a low veggie and make up the rest of your carbs with whatever...cheese, nuts...cream.But not net carbs those came into play after 92. This is what I was successful on before so this is where I'm going now. So we shall see I did lose 4 lbs during the 1st 2 weeks but I am on week five now so I will try this approach.

A great big to Arzu and Stormyand Tiff!!! You will love it here there is such a great group of women who hang on on this thread. All gorgeuos too I might add! And yes I love to see pictures especially wedding pictures.

So sorry that so many are sick. You'd think you can catch it through the computer the way it is spreading!

Brymic I know what you mean about the foods. I am not form the south but my Dad is Slovak his parents came over. Basically the food is meat potatoes gravy and pastas. So I pretty much grew up on white foods. Every dinner included some type of bread and potato or pasta. My parents were very strict Catholics so we never ate meat on Fridays...so in the summer one of my favorite dinners was corn on the cob and homemade french fries.I am drooling just thinking about it. We grew up with little money so we never had fish unless they were sticks

Mary thanks for the laugh yet again

Diana I feel about the tofurky the way you feel about egg creams

Christina sounds like your feeling better! So glad hope Brandon is too!
Enjoy your new toy(camera)!

Ok Menu
B 4 slices bacon 2 eggs with cheese coffee
L bacon cheesburger
D salad roast cooked on the grill with feta sour cream sauce.

Have a great day BBL

Good Luck on your workout and be careful!!

S- low-sodium deli turkey
L- burger patty, cottage cheese

You better get Yahoo going soon so we can chat and get you a Camera so we can video chat so you can really see what I look like!!

Good luck on Stillman..I tried that and I just could not function doing it...must be making my blood sugar get out of whack just eating lean protein..you just be careful..K?

I am pooped..I did 45 min on my treadmill..tried HITT and it whooped me good!! Guess it just takes practice..what I do now is about 3 min of walking uphill at 3.5 mph on a 8 or 9 incline and then go level for about 3 to 5 min at 4mph...I almost get 4 miles in 45 min that way...I love doing it if my back will just let me do it...

Rachel..sweetie..I afraid it does because of all the fillers...cannot remember how many...I will go back and look and post it for you.. If you can get the packs I know the packs are less carbs because they dont have hardly any fillers..also..if you can find Splenda Quick packs they dont hardly have any and 1 tsp of them equal 1 cup!

Sure wish you was closer I would let you color and cut mine!! It cost us 20 dollars just for that and I bought my own color! But..that was a local hair stylist here...at Walmart they want 50!! She only charged 8 for Mikes and 2 for Brandon..I am so glad she is that cheap thou or I would have to try to cut ours!!

Sure..join me on Yahoo anytime...mc_gallimore...If we all could get together at the same time we would have a party!!

Hello ladies!
here is my menu for the day
breakfast-sausage egg quiche
Lunch-big mack kettece wrap and 1 boiled egg
Dinner-london broil cut into chuncks with with 0 carb beef broth with brocoli and onions
(im going to use most likely more than a cup and about half cup of onions I havent really had any carbs today its so hard to caculate them

Heres a recipe that I kinda made up the other day but it was so so good

2 cups mushrooms(or a little more (I just used the basket of them that you get at the store)
1 tablesoon or a little more butter
1 cup beef broth
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
1 1/2 ounce shredded cheddar cheese
1 med sized steak (or turkey patty)

Add butter to frying pan melt
add musrooms sautee them till they stat to turn light brown
add Beef broth to mushrooms simmer for about 5 to 7 min till mushrooms shrink a little
once they have simmered remove set aside
add a little more butter to same frying pan cook steak or turkey (meat)
while that cooks add your cream to the mushrooms and broth stir well
pour over mean in frying pan
add the cheese for more thickness
then serve with fav. Veggie

Its really good! Im sure someone had made this /thought of this before me but thought I would share!

omg you guys are making me HUNGRY!!

dianna, i am going for it!! i bought turnips while at the store today!! i found cleo's recipe for the mock augratin potatoes so will try that tonight w/my chicken. we'll see how they turn out.. i have no thickner since can't use cornstarch, so maybe will toss in a bit more parmesean cheese to help that out.

yeah, the "doc in a box" is just the walk-in urgent care.. back in VA where we lived that became the nick name because there were ALL OVER!! almost like mickey D's!! anyways, he said bronchitis.. so gave me a breathing treatment and an Rx for a z-pack and inhaler to keep lungs clear. just another few days and i hope i'm back to normal! ok, well.. as normal as i can ever get! haha

so where do you guys chat on yahoo??! I use yahoo! i'd love to jump in on a chat occassionally!

i did buy the fit-n-active egg beaters brand for cooking yesterday. i saw a recipe somewhere that used it... like for a good quiche. anyone have one?? i want a change for breakfast!!

i did break down and got some of the K20 protein packs for my water.. only 1 carb and adds a tad of flavor f
