What kind of dance do you teach, Jaimie? My DD9 is taking ballet at a great school (actually two great schools, but one is pre-professional and one is just great with kids--she takes ballet and tap there). The pre-professional one is offering a class for adults, and I think that once I have some more weight off I'm going to take it. I've always wanted to!

Hi Tuscany,
I teach classical ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical and Hip Hop. I was a professional dancer/singer in Boston and NYC before I had children. I absolutely love teaching! I mostly teach the older students, high school and some college age dancers...but I do teach a class on Wednesdays that are students in grades 5 and 6 who take a combined class of Ballet, Jazz and tap...they are a hoot!! You should definitely dance!! If you have any interest and desire...DO IT! What a wonderful way to free your mind and enjoy yourself! Moms really need an outlet, and maybe dance is yours?? Make sure your DD is not being "pushed" onto pointe at an early age...it can be very bad for growth and development!

Hi Jaimie!! That is so cool that you teach dance! I used to be on pointe before I blew out my knee...
Then I got fat. I dream of losing weight, and going back to dance. I know it is too late to dance for a company, but if I could just dance for myself, it would be such a dream come true. I wanted to put a barre in our house, and my husband was going to do it, but I decided not too, because I am too out of shape right now, and I think it would just depress me.....ug, anyway, so cool to know you teach!! |

Good morning my friends! It's really overcast here this morning and is supposed to rain later. I hope so because we could use some.
Sounds like everyone is doing pretty good. I ran across this little quote and even though it's from a general it still applies because it has to do with challenges and that's what diets are....a HUGE challenge. Accept challenges, so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory. -George S. Patton I've got a friend coming over later to work out on my Total Gym with me. It's always more fun working out with someone. On top of that I'm considering going back to martial arts. (One day I'll tell you why I took up martial arts in the first place). That was the best shape I was ever in. Am I looking for punishment or what ![]() I was really excited this morning. I finally got out of the 140's. Even if it's just one lb it's still in the 30's (139) woohoo!!! Everytime I come in here it's like having a reunion with all my new found sisters. I wish the forum had a way of being live with voice and webcam. It would be so much fun. I love my webcam because I can visit with my grandkids that way since they're so far away. I also get on the webcam once a week with GF in Egypt. We chat for about an hour or so. Kind of closes the distance between us. Well, I'm going to do some housework. I'll be back later. Mary ![]() Diet buddies Rosey and Nina were best of friends and tried to do everything together. Rosey announced that she was going to start a diet to lose some pounds she had put on recently. "Good," Nina exclaimed. "I'm ready to start a diet too. We can be dieting buddies and help each other out. And when I feel the urge to drive out and get a burger and fries, I'll call you first." "Great," Rosey replied. "I'll ride with you to Burger King."

Terrific Tuesday!
I was happy to change my stats this morning 2 pounds gone...I pray it stays gone and takes friends with it!!Menu: B---1 scrambled egg, 2 slices of bacon, diet Mt. Dew and 30 ounces of water L---LC Slimfast shake or 2 (forgot to pack lunch...glad I have some shakes at work) 30 more ounces of water D---Chix casserole concoction that I prepared on Sunday and have ready to bake tonight. Diced cooked chix with some diced artichokes--not marinated, just in water--I made a sauce with dry ranch dressing mix, mayo, heavy cream and water from the artichokes, then I poured the sauce over the chix and sprinkled some parm cheese on top. I have absolutely no idea how it will taste, but I figure I will serve it along side pasta for the rest of the family, and if it stinks, they can fill up on pasta! Gotta work...BBL |

Good morning everyone. I have not been able to find the KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce either. I have been buying Big "B" BBQ sauce instead is is pretty low in carbs. I am not sure if it is available everywhere or if it is a regional brand.
I went to walmart last night and found that queso blanco. I can't wait to make some. I also bought some really good fresh salsa that has 1 carb for 2 tbsp. I found it by the fresh veggies section by the bagged baby carrots. It is some really good stuff and no sugar. B: bacon and coffee w/ Davinci SF vanilla syrup L: pork chop and lettuce with ranch D: grilled sausage patty with cheese and steamed veggies S: queso blanco w/ salsa. yum! I still haven't weighed in. I just started taking some medication that is making TOM hang around longer than usual so i am waiting until I feel the water weight go away before I weigh. I feel thinner in my face and wrists but my tummy is still feeling bloated. =( |

Morning everyone. Just time to pop in and say hi, gotta run to town for salad veggies and eggs.
Got the doc to relent and give me 30 days of low dose tyroid. We'll see how I do. About Kirstie Alley, and I speak from experience, the Jenny Craig diet is very low calorie, low fat, HIGH carb. Like 1200 calories a day and 60% carbs. It has definitely screwed with my metabolism and Im sure it did with hers as well, although she wasn't on it as long as I was (17 months). If she continued to eat with those numbers then it's no surprise she has regained some, if not all, the weight. It's sad because I know just how difficult it is to stick to that diet. I was hungry all the time. Glad I'm done with it.
