I am, because I changed plans and I want to see how the fruit and grain affect my ketosis, so far, I am still in! The plan is still low carb but allows small servings of EITHER fruit or grian a day, plus dark chocolate.

Hello-

I use the stix sporadically. It makes me feel great if it shows.

I blew it yesterday at Captain D's. The country style fish has nearly 100 carbs. I looked it up when I got home. Also 2000 mg sodium...can you believe it. No weight loss for this week. I will have to be super good this week to make up for that one bad choice. arg!!!

Back from camping. Scale moved a little...back down from being up a little, then stalling..so...I'm back to 222.6 I'm adding in a little bit of carbs...very slowly. I had a little bit of oriental salad the other day, quite a bit of regular salad, and still went back down, so that's good. Hopefully, the scale keeps moving. They had pancakes for breakfast one day (potluck style eating most of the time) and one of the ladies said "come eat some pancakes" to me and I actually was brave enough to say that I don't eat carbs, so can't have pancakes. I'm getting pretty brave...I also said something to another friend, and she was actually curious and was asking me questions about what my eating plan was...she didn't seem judgemental, just curious.

I use them occasionally to let me know that my body IS burning fat. Sometimes when I stall I can get a little discouraged, so if I use one of them and it's purple, I at least know that my body is in some type of ketosis, and I'll eventually drop!

Good morning!

Hope everyone is doing well and staying on plan!
I am finally back on track and doing great so far. I've decided to eat two meals a day. . .lc and then for dinner have a protein shake. One reason is it's too darn hot to eat dinner and something nice and cool sounds good at that time. I've been playing wii tennis and seriously it has been doing some good. I've been using my stomach muscles and I can tell the difference and now it's going back down and my pants/shorts feel better now.

We can do this!!!

Hi

Stick with it and you WILL see losses and improvement of your blood work, to boot! (most likely)

Mary you are so true, i went to the DR and he has said if i carry on with the weight loss he will take me off 2000mg of Metformin, Which i hate taking as it give me a sicky feeling every morning. It just shows losing weight gets your blood work to a normal range.

Hi Karen,
I like the bowling too, but I'm not very good at it, but it's still fun and it gets me moving, lol.

Good Evening-

Had a decent day. 21 carbs so I am on plan. Wish I would see a loss again...I know, be patient. I am usually an every-other-week loser.

Maryposa- Good News.

I like the Wii too.

Kristina- I am having a harder time this time around too. I did Atkins in (I think) 2004-05 and I had steady losses, 1-2 pounds a week average. This time 8 pounds the first 2 weeks and nothing the last 3. I do remember that I would sometimes have a couple maintain weeks and then lose 3-4 pounds all at once. I am hoping that will happen soon. LOL

Maryposa- Good Luck at your appointment tomorrow.

Karen and Diane- Have you ever gone into the training on the bowling. It has one that keeps increasing the number of pins in the alley. It is great fun. I don't remember what the tennis training is.

Night all
Sally

Hi All,

I'm just catching up.

Maryposa, your new plan sounds great. I LOVE dark chocolate. Nearly every year, my husband and I go to the International Chocolate Show in NYC (I think they have one out in San Francisco, too.) Once you have the good stuff it's like a religious conversion.

I just made myself the most delicious lunch, so I had to share:

Hot salsa mixed with a little Greek yogurt, cucumber slices and plain shrimp (I buy the frozen bags of cooked and cleaned shrimp so that I can toss it in a salad or whatever without a lot of fuss.)

I'm still licking my lips from the spicy salsa. Yummy.

Oh Lainey, that sounds wonderful.

Went to a pool party as a chaperone Sunday. Got my exercise that day.

Maintained again this week...time for a woosh.

Great Mary!! I take it..I also found out I dont have PCOS..I may be pre-menopausal... That would explain why I am losing my hair again..a little bit of weight gain and then having TOMs every 14 days and now no cycle in 2 months and I am NOT pregnant...staying very tired and moody all the time...more than likely means we wont be having anymore children..did bloodwork yesterday so I might know by the end of the week.

As for the Met I really like it..it helps me lose the rest of my weight and keeps my blood sugar in control. I have a lot to thank for it...also..when you do get pregnant again you can take that along with your pregnancy.

Keep me informed and let me know what they say..

HUGS
Christina
