Hey everyone, may I join??

Im 21, and have 10 or so pounds to lose. I wanted to start atkins induction today (hopefully getting into ketosis by next week) but i ALREADY slipped and had a piece of banana bread
could i still kind of start today?

Ive had some bad days of binging lately (dealing with a lot of stress at home) and I need to put my foot down but i have no one to help me!

Welcome home!!!! This group is usually very chatty..but summer is here and we know how that goes.

Just cuz you slipped once today, does not mean you need to throw out the whole day. Eat induction the rest of the day...

We have all been through the bad binge days. I still have them. Stock up on some low carb veggies when you have that need to "crunch" and don't beat yourself up....

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I've been here, but now I'm b-a-a-a-ck. I got a bit off-track with LC, but I'm diving back in and re-starting my induction, so today is Day One. We still have plenty of LC goodies from our Fourth of July party, so I figured this would be the perfect time to get back to it.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone.

LOL!!

Morning all! I am really having bad hormone problem again... Tried to get pregant this month and come to find out about my bloodwork yesterday my STUPID Progesterone is VERY low...so low I cannot get pregant yet even with the fertility treatment. So, I have to go on a PILL to start my cycle and then once again Fertility meds and then check my Progesterone level at 24 days into my cycle month... This is So frustrating! I am bloated..a grouch at its best...but I completely skipped my cycle this month! On top of that my lower back is killing me again. I am just miserable. I am staying around 126 to 128..I dont like that but there is nothing that can be done about that right now either...

I am thinking about getting Progesterone Cream and trying that to try to bring it up...one of my friends mothers is friend with a pharmacist that is now owns Natural Store about 30 min from me. I would much rather go Natural instead of all the meds!! This is driving me crazy. In addition Brandon is having some issues. We are thinking now possible ADHD...had his regular doctor call to see if she could get him back in to see the development doc this month. They told her we was suppose to come back this month but they didnt have any appt till DEC!! What the F!! Finally she said she found one cancellation for the 26th of August..that is Brandon first day of School!! Which means now either he is going to only get to go a couple of hours the first day or not at all because that is the only appt till December and we need to get him in ASAP!!

What else is going to go wrong? Sorry I have not been on the board much..Like Di...I am staying mostly on Facebook now. I thought I would have more time online this summer but with all the appt and horse therapy for Brandon 1 time a week my time is still very limited. Please forgive me..

I will try to post more on here..

Take care everyone
HUGS
Christina

Newbie

HI

I am new to this board. Not sure what thread I belong in. I am in week 4 of induction. I am not militant about the carbs. Trying to stay below 20, but have had a few days around 30.

Did Atkins several years ago and lost 60 pounds. Got hooked on the Advantage bars and wound up quiting. Regained 40 pounds. Tried WW (on my own) for 2 years and learned healthier eating (less processed). Lost 30 pound, recently started to gain so decided to go back to what made me feel the best.

I have never shown much on the ketosis strips...so not sure if I am in the zone . I lost 7 pounds in the first 2 weeks and had a slight gain this week (1 pound). Salt can make me gain dramatically so I am not upset. Last time around I averaged a pound a week.

Noticed that the "brain fog" cleared within a few days of stopping bread and potatoes. I am sleeping much better now too. I love the perks.

Hope to make some new friends. Point me to the right threads please.

Hi Halo, welcome to the board..

Hi Lainey welcome back...

I have been craving salty stuff for the last couple of weeks...like chip and dip. I have been giving it...Guess I need more water???

Yeahh....my stitches in my right hand come out tomorrow..then surgery on the left hand next wednesday the 15th.

Christine or anyone that has carpal tunnel surgery...how long before the pain goes away in the wrist? Stitches still seem tender too in one or two spots, but no oozing or swelling. I sure can notice the difference between the 2 hands tho!!!!

hugs,
Colette

Hey Colette..

It took me about 6 to 8 weeks in each hand for all the soreness to leave...They will be VERY tender till they come out...

Yes...water is what you need..I find that out when I am craving something salty as well..

Ok..you all...I found out my Progesterone level is only 1.5!! I am SO aggravated!! I have been taking Progesterone for 2 months now and I cannot believe my level is that low...I think I am going to get the cream and try it..I dont know what else to do if the hormone replacement is not working..I completely skipped my cycle this time because of that...I dont know what else to do at this point..if I would get pregnant at this time I would more than likely lose the baby...

I feel lousy also...no energy...my weight is still right around 127 but my fat is down to 22 percent...bloated...mild cramping and constipation at times...I really dont know what to do at this point...

Everyone have a good day..see you all on Facebook!

Thanks Christina. I will up my water...been drinking a lot of iced green tea lately too.

Sorry about your low progesterone level. I just got tired of dealing with it for so many years, I gave up. After a while trying to get pregnant puts a major strain on everyone involved. And what is worse, when its our hormones we feel so broken, not whole, ya know what I mean? At least that is how I felt.

When I was on hormone therapy to get pg..I was on progesterone for a certain number of days, then clomid.

I guess your body is still trying to sort out not having a weight problem anymore. Your brain hasn't told your ovaries to stop producing the extra estrogen and to increase the progesterone. Have you been checked for a pituitary tumor? You may need to sit down and have a heart to heart talk with your ovaries. Also, maybe its your body's way of protecting itself against pregnancy because of the other health issues you are going through. Also you need sleep for healthy hormone levels. How old are you? Maybe you are going through early menopause? Did you discuss this possibility with your doc? Ok..off the advice soap box. You now will be returned to regular programming....Thank you for your patience....

Hugs,
Colette

Well...head hanging...I'm back again

I am on my first day of induction, and I forGOT how awesome it feels when I don't eat carbs! I've had 2 scrambled eggs, a bite of tuna and mayo and now I'm eating lunch. A steak. I am so grateful to be rid of the cravings. I know this is how I should be eating. I pray I'll be able to stick with it this time. My problems stem from being around people and what they think. It's been a long standing problem every time I try Atkins. I get comments from people about what I'm eating...like it's their business, anyway

But..I'm back. I usually stay at induction levels for a long time...with the exception of occasionally raising my vegie level, and sometimes probably later on down the road a very occasional SA treat. I won't be doing that for a long time though. Good to be back and thought I'd join this thread

Hi Everyone

Wonder if anyone has a magic wand.

On the 1st of August i will be in the United Kingdom for my brothers wedding. The issue i have is, my dress is to tight. I need to lose around 6lbs or more.

Anyone have any ideas on how to go about this??????? My weight loss is slow around 1lb a week, which i am really happy with but my dress arrived this morning and i need to lose a few more LBS.... I can do the dress up, but only just.... I will put some pics of me in at the wedding. As i dont normally spend $200+ on a dress, its silk..

Anyway, any ideas will be great.

Karen

Hi Everyone,

Well, the good news is I've been doing lots of walking. Went out to dinner last night and ate a huge steak, then my husband and I walked 24 blocks to Grand Central. On the way home, we passed Lincoln Center, Chubby Checker was putting on a concert as part of a series called Midsummer Night Swing, so I got to literally dance in the street.

Had a great day with my sister-in-law strolling through this public garden with a nature trail in my neighborhood, but then for dinner I had the steak frites. Well, at least I didn't eat all the frites, but I really shouldn't have had any.

I'm not beating myself up, but confession makes me feel better.

Another day without exercise. Sigh

Skipped breakfast again.
L- 2 Hamburger pattys, broccolli
S- pizza loaf...veg or salad?
Snack- 1cup whole strawberries with whipped cream
26 carbs

Diana- I pick the kids up at the airport at noon tomorrow. Hope they all had a good time. It's just what moms do.

Kristina- You just have to do it for you. I find I do better if I don't make a big deal of the diet with friends. I just say "I am doing low carb right now". That is why I joined this board, so I would have someone to talk to about all the diet stuff.

Karen- sorry I left my wand at work. You might try a few days of 0 carbs to give you a couple of extra pounds off fast.

Lainey- Sounds like a wonderful evening.

keep those carbs low

Kristina, Steak frites is a nice steak, usually a skirt steak with these really crisp, browned slender fries. They serve it in a lot of French-ish places. I've had it in Montreal and a lot of the sort-of-French restaurants in the city. But I had no business eating any those fries. Well, I'll be walking my a$$ off all day tomorrow to compensate.

Oh, and what's funny is, we didn't even realize it was reallly Chubby Checker. We just thought it was an awesome cover band. You can buy tickets to the series and they put up a dance floor, but since it's outdoors, you can just sort of loiter outside the velvet rope and still enjoy the show for free like we did.

You got your stitches out, how are you doing? I had this surgery 1993 and 94 so it's been a long time ago.

doing well today. No hunger to speak of, what a relief from the cravings!
I will be gone for the weekened, so hope everyone has a great one! I'm down 1/2 a pound, so that's good....
