Classes are now done. Just awaiting my grades. So far I have 2 grades that posted...both A's...
I know the other 2 grades I am getting, one is a B+ and the other is a C+. I still have a B+ average...Wow, I can't believe I made it through 1 whole year!!!! I am so looking forward to September now. Since I am having carpal tunnel surgery this month and possibly the other hand next month...I will be out of commission for most anything...My first surgery is June 24th.... Oh well, at least my hands will work better now!!! Colette |

Hiya Heavy, I re-read my book all the time. It's part of the mind-set. It reminds me of the rules and why they are there. Which book do you have?Hi Diana!!! ![]() |

I agree...reading the book is a huge help. It lays out the rules of induction what foods are acceptable and how to do it.
I tried many years ago without truly reading the book and understanding what I was doing and it was a disaster. This time I read the book. And I reread the portion on induction to make sure I understood and then I started the diet. I have now re read the OWL. I plan to stay on the induction phase until I have lost most of my weight. But I know what to do when I move to the next phase. It really does help. And dont really think of the time you have already spent as wasted..its just a learning experience. Its ok to start over or back up a step. This isnt really a diet....it is supposed to be a way of life. If you treat it like a diet and go back to your old eating habits once you have reached your goal, you will gain the weight back...so this is a life time maintenance thing. When you think about it in terms of a lifetime, a few weeks here or there arent really very much. ![]() |

I have to re-read the book too. Right now I am in eating trouble and I need to reconnect with the fundamentals of the book and the plan.
Peace out... Colette Wish grades would get posted soon...even though I know what I am getting, it would be nice to print out my grade report. Besides, the No Worker Left Behind program in MI needs it for my school records. Quote:

Hi everyone.
Names Tonya...and I am a fast food junkie!Seriously! I started in May on the induction a variation of the Atkins that a diebetic friend got from a doctor with NO carbs the first 6 weeks. Well yeah, lasted 3 and I hated meat by the end. -sighs- Even with me cheating a bit with carb blocker pills and flat breads at only 9 grams of carb a piece to make me some tacos with. ![]() I did, on the plus size...I mean side...did lose 20 pounds. So here I am.....starting fresh and found this lovely site and supporters like you people to help me along!!!! -looks at my kitties oreo and creamsickle and licks my lips- Ooye, this will be difficult! ![]() ![]() |

There are lots of wonderful LCer's on here who are very helpful and supportive. I know it looks a little barren right now - but it's summer and everyone is usually pretty busy on weekends. You will get to know everybody rather quickly though! As far as your eating - bad, bad girl! You've go to let that bread go! Do a search on this site for Oopsie rolls. They are a good sub for bread. But you can't go overboard with those either. And potatoes!!!!!I love cats too. They taste just like chicken! And yes, exercise is EXCELLENT when you are trying to quit smoking. It does work. I have been tobacco free for 10 years now and owe it partly to exercise. If you haven't already, borrow or buy one of Dr. Atkins books. It will help you more than you know. It is very important to know what to eat and when to eat it to lose weight and maintain that loss but still get the proper nutrition. Good luck - you can do it!

Good morning Ladies!!
Hi Tonya! ![]() Cindy said it all!! Yes, we'll all show up here soon. We are kind of here and there. But I agree with Cindy, if you can get the book. . .thrift stores may have them. It's good to read it. I hear you both on the retention too! When MP was saying about what Dr A said about the IR reading and all that. I couldn't even remember reading that, lol. |

Good morning everybody!
Hope everyone is doing well and staying on plan. Weekends are the most challenging, aren't they? Here is my menu for today: B - 2 fried eggs, 2 bacon, 2 coffee w/splenda and HWC L - lettuce, tomatoe and cuc salad with homemade ranch D - sirlion tip S - pork rinds w/ranch dip This weekend was a seafood fest. I had crab legs, shrimp and scallops Friday night. Last night, went to a pig pickin and had awesome pork and a couple of dill pickles then went to my nieces grad party and had a dozen Chesapeake Bay Blue crabs - YUMMMMMMMMM!! So I am pretty stuffed and full of sodium which shows on the scales. BUT it doesn't show in inches so I am okay. Gonna go make my breakfast now. Talk to you all soonly, xxxooo |
