I know Mary, i never knew i had Pcos until 2 years ago, i started growing facial hair, so i went to the DR, then they did all the tests. All came back positive for PCOS. But i don't get the cysts, which is really weird. But everyone is different. Also i have an underactive thyroid. So losing weight is a battle, but getting there slowly.

I have to say i love your new pic, you look fantastic, you are doing so well.

Hi everyone!

I too am staying on track! Aren't we an awesome bunch? Everbody reach over and pat yourselves on the back. It's a good way to get rid of UDD (underarm dingly dangly) too!

Nancy, I must try the asparagus. It is one of my favorite veggies. I get tired of eating them plain old steamed.

MP, garlic is good on just about everything. I eat it with my scrambled eggs.

Christina, you better tie a pillow to your butt, girlfriend! It's the only thing you've got left that's not bruised or battered. You need a mom's day out. BUT what wonderful news about a new baby soon!!

Di - I am so happy for you going back to school. And such a wonderful vocation!!!! When's dinner?

The menu:

B - 2 fried eggs, 3 slices bacon, 2 cups coffee w/splenda and HWC
L - cup of homemade chicken salad and cup of homemade chicken broth
D - Ginormous delicious T-bone off the grill
S - handful of pork rinds

I need some veggies so I am going to eat a good old salad tomorrow for lunch. Can't wait to have my fresh produce from the garden. Wish I could have chickens so I could have some fresh eggs.

Love all you guys!

You guys are making me hungry, and it's down day! But, the fun thing about down day is REALLY appreciating the foods I eat on Stubborn Fat Fix / OWL days.
Tomorrow I am going to have half a very large artichoke with dinner. Artichoke is another of my loves Of course, it will be served with garlic butter or garlic mayo!

I wanted to say that I watching Discovery Health yesterday and it was about this lady who was trying to get pregnant. Well after tons of test, drs told her she had PCOS. She said she didn't know what it was. She had the irregular periods, growing facial hair and was gaining weight. They gave her medication for it but it didn't do what it's supposed to. She lost weight and she thought it was fixing her up, but she still couldn't get pregnant. After 10 years she adopted. Then she got pregnat but miscarried. So then she was told she had to go on the pill to help her hormones, they were out of whack. She also had a high level of testerone which she needed to get down.

Finally, as she was about to give up, her mom found an article talking about the symptoms she had. This dr had written the article about PCOS. So this lady decided to see this dr to get some tests done. Well she found out that she did not have PCOS, but she had this. . . "Nonclassical Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia." It's very interesting too because no other dr could diagnose this except for this one particular dr. Only after the medication she gave this lady was not working for PCOS and to lower her high testosterone.

Here's a link explaining about it. It's very interesting too.

Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia - NADF

Also your lunch sounds good.
I could LIVE on asparagus...prepared any way! Lately I just steam it a tad and throw it in ice water. I leave it in the fridge and snack on it with dip or just plain...

Today is my 2 week anniversary and (DRUMROLL....) I have lost a total of 9 pounds! I think I will remain on a modified induction for another week or so. I'm having a houseful of family here next weekend and want to enjoy some treats (mostly of the liquid variety).

Have you tried Biotin? That works. . .I had been taking that because I was losing some hair after I started losing weight. I know that happens when we lack certain minerals and vitamins in our diet. But as soon as I started taking the biotin, I'd say 3 months later, my hair stopped falling off, except for the normal amount we lose.

When I saw that show, it was Medical Mysteries on the Discovery health channel, I thought wow. . .how many of us have at least been tested for this. Sometimes we never know.

I guess if the PCOS meds are not working, then I would ask about this condition.

I'm tired of it and I decided to do something. I have enrolled in the Scottsdale Culinary Institute-Le Cordon Bleu to get my associates degree in culinary arts. I start in July of this year. That means I won't be here as often and that means, I don't know what is going to happen to my eating. But I do know that I plan on losing more weight by that time.
So strict city for me!!

Anyway, I'm really excited and cannot wait to start!! So get used to calling me Chef!! LOL!!!

I am getting my associates in Medical Assisting. This term, which has 3 weeks left, I am taking english comp 2, a med law and ethics class, medical terminology, and intro to algebra. Just finishing up my prereqs before I get into my core courses in the fall.
