I usually nuke them between 40 and 60 sec. They fluff up nicely and it's just so much easier than pulling out a pan because I can eat them right out of the bowl.
I think tonight I'm going to fix pork chops and whatever else I can think of. And, yes, I am blond (tried a different color in the picture, didn't like it, went back to blond). ![]() The Blonde Miracle Diet An overweight blonde consulted her doctor for advice. The doctor advised that she run 10 miles a day for 30 days. This, he promised, would help her lose as much as twenty pounds. The blonde follows the doctor's advice, and, after thirty days, she was pleased to find that she'd indeed lost twenty pounds. She phoned the doctor and thanked him for the wonderful advice which produced such effective results. At the end of the conversation, however, she asked one last question: "How do I get home, since I am now 300 miles away?" Well, guess I'll go check and see what my cats are up to. They're being very scarce at the moment ![]() I'll check back in later. Don't go away...... Mary

Pizza made with pepperoni....hmmmm. You'll have to let me know how it works. I'll try to get on later this weekend but my hubby is home (works out of town during the week) so I'm going to spend some time with him.
If I don't get back on, have a terrific weekend everyone. TTFN Mary Last edited by LadyChurchill; 04-18-2008 at 06:39 PM.. |

Good morning everyone! Had a couple of spare minutes so thought I'd pop in and see how everyone was doing. I know a lot of you have pets so I wanted to share this with you. I'll be back later. Have a blessed day everyone.

Hi Mary!
Awww, that makes me want to cry!!! I love that! In fact, yesterday I felt so bad for my little guy. He was trying to go poo and he just couldn't. I was outside watching him and he kept moving from one spot to another and I thought, what's going on with him! So I gave him a little mineral oil to maybe help him go, but I realized that it was half way out and that he just couldn't get out. I didn't know what to do, so I took the water hose and hosed that area off and all the poo started to come off. I was so mad because DH gives him tons of treats that he does not need and I keep telling him that. So I threw all the crappy stuff away and now I'm heading to Petsmart to get him so good food and nutritional treats for him. I wanted to cry for him because I did not like seeing him that way. He's okay now, and we gave him a bath, so he's nice and fresh. What you posted made me think of all that. We love our little guy and we spoil him as if he was our child. And we need to think about his other well-being as well. We do, but even more!! Thank you for posting that!!! |

HI!
Mary..I love that..When we got home yesterday evening my beagle dog had started to have her puppies..she is a outside dog and was having trouble. Mike stayed out in the rain with her for as long as he could before we got a bad storm with hail. She had 1 puppy that died because she had it outside her dog house in a hole and I believe the hail and water got to him but we have 4 that lived!! Anyone want a beagle pup? They are SO cute. I hope they make it as we have homes for 3 of them and 1 of them is mine. It is miserable here today. Its suppose to be cloudy and rainy all week. My author is really hurting me today...I can hardly walk across the floor. This damp weather will hurt you every time with that. I stayed on Plan yesterday and my weight is the same. I am staying on plan today so far. I just made 2 meatloaves. I regular for DH and one induction one for me. I added LC Barbecue Sauce instead of Catsup and it smells good. I have 1 head of broccoli and one of Cauliflower I want to use and dont know what to do with it. I dont want to make Cleo's crust..didn't even use the last one I fixed..I am going to make the crispy cheese one next time. Give me some ideas on what to do with a head of Cauliflower and a head of Broccoli? Got to go for now. Catch you all later Sometime today. Post Menu later! HUGS Christina |

Hello Ladies
![]() We had a great time at the wedding. Actually too good! I am still a little hung over It was worth it though. Danced alot and just had fun.![]() I know alcohol isn't supposed to be a part of induction but it never stalls me so I went for it. In fact I was down another 2 lbs. today...but I'm not claiming it because I think it will go up again the loss is probably just dehydration from drinking. Mary thanks so must for your post. I am truly devoted to my girl. She is a rescue dog I got right after my mom passed away and I just love her so much. I can't even imagine life without her now. ![]() Diana Hope your puppy is ok now. Hope you had fun at the game. Christina hope you had a great anniversary weekend. Hi to everyone else and pinkgirl good to have you here!Menu B-2 oopsie pancake style L -salad with avocado and radishes and of course bacon D -smoked sausage and green beans Talk to you all later! Hello again all you wonderful ladies.....
First, let me present my latest funny: "A Woman's Prayer: Dear Lord, I pray for: Wisdom, To understand a man , to Love and to forgive him , and for patience, For his moods. Because Lord, if I pray for Strength I'll just beat him to death" I'm not sure about the rest of you but there are days......... ![]() Right now I'm just getting ready to do some ironing so that my hubby can get packed up to leave again tomorrow morning. At least there's something decent on TV to watch while I do this. I sure miss living in Egypt. There I had all my ironing done for about $2..... ![]() Here's another yummy recipe: Halibut with Pine Nut and Parmesan Crust Serves 4 Take advantage of halibut season using this recipe. * 1/2 cup pine nuts, coarsely chopped 120 ml * 4 Tbsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese 60 ml * 1 Tbsp. finely chopped fresh basil 15 ml * 1 clove garlic, minced 1 * 1 Tbsp. olive oil 15 ml * 4 6-oz. (165-g) halibut filets 4 * salt to taste Preheat the oven to 425ºF (220ºC). Combine the pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, basil, garlic and olive oil. Place the halibut filets on a baking sheet and season with salt. Pat the pine nut mixture onto the halibut, pressing lightly to make it adhere. Bake in the middle of the oven for 10-15 minutes, until the fish is opaque all the way through. Hi Crystalmoon! Yes if you have any questions, please feel free to come here and hang out with us. You can start with 73, it's a little different than DANDR, but the both are affective! I hope you have much success on it as we all have!! ![]() Hi Christina! Ahhh, for the puppy that didn't make it! I'm sorry!! I love beagles, they are so cute and adorable!! I'm glad you got homes for the others, if I lived near you, I would probably take one! Meals sound good!! What is an author, you said it was hurting you? I hope you start feeling better soon!! I just made caulflower and broccoli in one of those steam bags it came in and I had made some butter with minced garlic, 2 tbsp lemon juice, salt and pepper and drizzled some of that on them. I had a fish fest and made that to go with the fish I made for lunch and it was good on the veggies too! I made some mussles with a white wine sauce and we ate that with our fish. It was so good! I'll be eating fish all week, no meat if I can help it. I'll also be making the tuna and crab muffins for the week. Hi Chris, I'm glad you had fun at the wedding, I would have had fun too! I love going to wedding! It's been along time since I've been to one actually. Yes, my little guy is okay, thanks!! We took him to Petsmart to go buy him so nutritious treats and some food. He knew were we went and as soon as we got home, he started doing his little dance on his hind legs because he knew he got some treats! ![]() I told him he had to eat his food first. He ate some, but knew about them treats!! Spoiled brat!! ![]() ![]() Hi Mary, oh I'm going to have to copy that joke and post it for some ladies I talk to who were having a men bash last week!! ![]() They'll get a kick out of that!Your recipe sounds great too! I just had tilapia for lunch just now! I may have to try that during the week. Ironing for 2 bucks! Wow, that's a great deal. I don't like to iron and rarely don't. Mainly because I don't have the room to set up my board. I don't mind ironing and watching tv, but no room. Well, I'd better go, I'll try to check on you all later!!! Love Ya Ladies!!! |

MAJOR LCF POSTER!

Hello Ladies,
I haven't posted in a few days because I've been trying to read all the posts. My word this thread doesn't stand still, I still haven't caught up. But anyway I hope everyone is doing okay. I of course cheated this weekend again and have to start all over. The thing is a I need to loose at least 7lbs in the next 2 weeks, how am I going to do this? I have a function to attend and the outfit I'm wearing has been altered and I can't gain a pound but losing a few would make it look that much better. Please help! Do you think I can obtain this goal if I ABSOLUTELY don't cheat. The weekends is what's getting me, but I want to look sooooo nice when I go to this function. Please offer up some suggestions, I'm open to anything except STILLMANS, tried it and didn't like it. Tell me what you think girls............... |

Yes..7 lbs can be done..for me it took alot of walking on my treadmill..a hour a day 5 days a week to lose that in about 2 weeks when I was losing..i am stalled now but not able to walk.Cheating will only set you back and if you determined to lose this weight in 2 weeks you can do it on strict induction and walking. Hope this helps!!
HUGS and Welcome! Christina |

Hi Loretta!
Which Atkins are you doing? If you're doing A72, then Induction is this: The Diet Revolution Rules (Level One) 1. Don’t count calories (so why are so many counting them?) 2. Eat as much of the allowed foods as you need to avoid hunger.(see, no limit) 3. Don’t eat when you are not hungry. 4. Don’t feel you must finish everything on your plate just because it is there. 5. Drink as much water or calorie free beverages as thirst requires. Don’t restrict fluids… but it is not necessary to force them either.(It doesn't say anything about 1/2 your body weight in water) 6. Frequent small meals are preferable. 7. If weakness results from rapid weight loss, you may need salt. 8. Everyday take a high-strength multivitamin pill. 9. DANDR induction is this:
Acceptable Foods These are the foods you may eat liberally during Induction: All fish including, tuna, salmon, sole, trout, flounder, herring, sardines All fowl, including chicken, turkey, duck, goose, cornish hen, quail, pheasant All shellfish including, oysteres, mussels, clams, squid, shrimp, crabmeat All meat including, beef, pork, lamb, veal, ham, venison All eggs, including scrambled, fried, poached, soft-boiled, hard-boiled, deviled, omelets *Oysters and mussels are higher in carbs than other shellfish, so limit them to four ounces per day. **Processed meats, such as ham, bacon, pepperoni, salami, hot dogs and other luncheon meats—and some fish—may be cured with added sugar and will contribute carbs. Try to avoid meat and fish products cured with nitrates, which are known carcinogens. Also beware of products that are not exclusively meat, fish or fowl, such as imitation fish, meatloaf and breaded foods. Finally, do not consume more than four ounces of organ meats a day. OTHER FOODS THAT ARE ACCEPTABLE DURING INDUCTION Cheese You can consume three to four ounces daily of the following full-fat, firm, soft and semisoft aged cheeses*, including: cheddar cow, sheep and goat cheese cream cheese Gouda mozzarella Roquefort and other blue cheeses Swiss *All cheeses have some carbohydrate content. The quantity you eat should be governed by that knowledge. The rule of thumb is to count 1 ounce of cheese as equivalent to 1 gram of carbohydrate. Note that cottage cheese, farmer’s cheese and other fresh cheeses are not permitted during Induction. No "diet" cheese, cheese spreads or whey cheeses are permitted. Individuals with known yeast symptoms, dairy allergy or cheese intolerance must avoid cheese. Imitation cheese products are not allowed, except for soy or rice cheese—but check the carbohydrate content. Vegetables You should eat 12-15 net carbs a day of vegetables. These salad vegetables are high in phytonutrients and provide a good source of fiber: alfalfa sprouts daikon mushrooms arugula endive parsley bok choy escarole peppers celery fennel radicchio chicory jicama radishes chives lettuce romaine lettuce cucumber mâche sorrel Other Vegetables Within the 12-15 net carb daily vegetable requirement, these vegetables are slightly higher in carbohydrate content than the salad vegetables listed above, but they also provide important nutrients and add variety to your daily food intake: artichoke celery root pumpkin artichoke hearts rhubarb asparagus chard sauerkraut bamboo shoots collard greens scallions dandelion snow peas bean sprouts dandelion greens spaghetti squash beet greens eggplant spinach broccoli hearts of palm string or wax beans broccoli rabe kale summer squash Brussels sprouts kohlrabi tomato bean sprouts leeks turnips cabbage okra water chestnuts cauliflower onion zucchini If a vegetable, such as spinach or tomato, cooks down significantly, it must be measured raw so as not to underestimate its carb count. Salad Garnishes crumbled crisp bacon grated cheese minced hard-boiled egg sautéed mushrooms sour cream Spices All spices to taste, but make sure none contain added sugar. Herbs basil garlic rosemary cayenne pepper ginger sage cilantro oregano tarragon dill pepper thyme For salad dressing, use oil and vinegar or lemon juice and herbs and spices. Prepared salad dressings without added sugar and no more than two carbs per tablespoon serving are also fine. Acceptable Fats and Oils Many fats, especially certain oils, are essential to good nutrition. Olive oil is particularly valuable. All other vegetable oils are allowed, the best being canola, walnut, soybean, grapeseed, sesame, sunflower and safflower oils, especially if they are labeled "cold-pressed" or "expeller-pressed." Do not cook polyunsaturated oils, such as corn, soybean and sunflower oil, at high temperatures or allow to brown or smoke. Butter is allowed. Margarine should be avoided, not because of its carbohydrate content, but because it is usually made of trans fats (hydrogenated oils), which are a health hazard. (Some nonhydrogenated margarines are now available.) You don't have to remove the skin and fat from meat or fowl. Salmon and other cold-water fish are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids. Remember that trying to do a low-fat version of the Atkins Nutritional ApproachTM may interfere with fat burning and derail your weight loss. Artificial Sweeteners You must determine which artificial sweeteners agree with you, but the following are allowed: sucralose (marketed as Splenda™), saccharin, cyclamate and acesulfame-K. Natural sweeteners ending in the suffix "-ose," such as maltose, etc., should be avoided. However, most sugar alcohols have a minimal effect on blood sugar and are acceptable. Saccharin has been extensively studied, and harmful effects were produced in the lab when fed to rats only in extremely high doses. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has removed saccharin from its list of carcinogens, basing its decision upon a thorough review of the medical literature and the National Institute of Science’s statement that there is "no clear association between saccharin and human cancer." It can be safely consumed in moderation, meaning no more than three packets a day. Saccharin is marketed as Sweet'n Low™. The Atkins preference, however, is sucralose (Splenda™), the only sweetener made from sugar. Sucralose is safe, noncaloric and does not raise blood sugar. It has been used in Canada for years, and the FDA approved it after reviewing more than 100 studies conducted over the past 20 years. Note that each packet of sugar substitute contains about 1 gram of carbohydrate, so don’t forget to include the amount in your daily totals. Acceptable Beverages Be sure to drink a minimum of eight eight-ounce glasses of water each day, including: Filtered water Mineral water Spring water Tap water Additionally, you can have the following: Clear broth/bouillon (not all brands; read the label) Club soda Cream, heavy or light (limit to two to three tablespoons a day; note carbohydrate content) Decaffeinated or regular coffee or tea* Diet soda made with sucralose (Splenda™); be sure to count the carbs Essence-flavored seltzer (must say "no calories") Herb tea (without barley or any fruit sugar added) Lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrate per ounce); limit to two to three tablespoons * Caffeine can cause cravings or blood sugar spikes with some people. If you’re one of them, you should drink only decaffeinated beverages. If you don’t have a problem with caffeine, you may drink one or two caffeinated beverages a day, because evolving research indicates there may actually be health benefits to a limited amount of caffeine. However, if you have a true caffeine addiction, it will be best to break it during Induction, because any food addiction can cause problems if it isn’t taken care of. Once you’ve broken the addiction and moved on to OWL, you can carefully try adding caffeinated beverages back into your food intake, as long as it doesn’t trigger the addiction again. Special Category Foods To add variety, each day you can also eat 10 to 20 olives, half a small avocado, an ounce of sour cream or three ounces of unsweetened heavy cream, as well as two to three tablespoons of lemon juice or lime juice. But be aware that these foods occasionally slow down weight loss in some people, and may need to be avoided in the first two weeks. If you seem to be losing slowly, moderate your intake of these foods. Convenience Foods Although it is important that you eat primarily unprocessed foods, some controlled carb food products can come in handy when you are unable to find appropriate food, can’t take time for a meal or need a quick snack. More and more companies are creating healthy food products that can be eaten during the Induction phase of Atkins. Just remember two things: 1. Not all convenience food products are the same, so check labels and carbohydrate content. (See the Online Store for Atkins brand products.) 2. While any of these foods can make doing Atkins easier, don’t overdo it. Remember, you must always follow The Rules of Induction. |
