I went to Walmart today and now I wish I didn't..buy the time I got out of there it was 227.00!! ![]() I just cannot believe how stuff has went up...it was 80.00 alone just for a 30.00 for 1 medicine and 40.00 for vitiamns and biotin for mike and I! Well...at least I wont have to go back there for a couple of weeks! By the time I got out of there and in the car and back home I was flooding!! Now..that is something I have not done in a long time either. Yeah Tamekia!!! Good for you on your lbs down!!!
![]() I agree, I love reading about everyone. It's inspiring and I just love to read about everyone's lives. You are doing so good!!! I can't wait to get to 191!! ![]() Christina, I know what you mean, food is expensive and so is eating low carb sometimes. That's why I stick to ground beef and chicken. But I ordered a 3 piece grill pan and skillet pan with a lid from QVC. I wanted something like so I could grill some fish on it. I'm going to eat more fish, like tilapia and other cheap kinds. DH is going to try and burn that disc, if he can, if not, I'll have to look where I can get that software from, if that store still has it. I'll keep you posted on it. If I can't do that, I can always send you mine, load it, then send it back to me. What do you think?? I took that CLA/GLA and it didn't do anything for me. But! I started getting cramps and Mary from another thread said she had TOM cramps, she took the borage oil and they went a way. That's what I did and that's what happend to me, so I guess it has another purpose!! I am going to try that cake again, for sure!!!

Good Evening All,
What is up w/fish..lol I had tilapia for dinner also. I got mine from WalMart . Mine was frozen fillets. they turned out de-lish. I dredged them in soy flour ,and almond meal.. added different spices. Soy meal is VERY bland. The 1st time I tryed this I just used soy flour. Then I found out about almond meal. Come to find out there was a thread just on all the things you could use almond meal in and on..woooohooo. My fish was ten times better. I hate baked fish so this worked out perfect. That's one good thing about LC . We can fry food..yummm I also had homemade cole slaw. I am stuffed. it was so filling. I also made the pizza crust using cauliflower. I am going to cut it into piecies like bread sticks. I was going to make the 1 minute muffin using the almond meal. I got a call from a friend I've not seen in a while , well an hour went by we were still chatting. I've lost my cooking umph..lol I'll get it back tomorow cause I love to cook. Thanks to Lady , I now know how to clean so it should be a breeze. lol All in all I really feel good about what I ate today. I'll journal it here. PLEASE make comments if you think I need to add something more ,or if I should cut back on anything. Any help would be great. Do any of you get Fit TV. I get it on satalite. There is a show on there called Low Carb with Blaine. He is good ,has a lot of tips ,and recipes. Thats where I got my inspriation to try LC one more time. Journal : B- peanut butter and SF jelly on Lavish Bread. coffee w/ cream L- egg salad on Lavish bread w/ pork rinds about 10 - diet pepsi D- 2 pieces of fish w/ cole slaw. - diet pepsi I usually just have a 12 oz. can of diet pepsi per day ,and tea for dinner but due to phone call I didn't make tea. have a great evening all. Rachel

You know what my favorite brand of cc is, it's Shamrock. There is something about the consistancy of it that I like. DH bought me the Daisy brand and I don't really care for it, but I'll eat it.
I like to put a little salsa on my cc when I was doing Atkins. But as of now, I add some onion/garlic powder, pepper and some paprika, even a little chili powder too. It's good! For a dessert, I was adding the cinnamon and splenda in it. It's not too bad, almost like a rice pudding in a way. . . if you close your eyes!!!! |

Thanks, Diana! You're so sweet.
Anyone having problems with hunger? I ate so much today, and eventually just ended up caving and having a sugar free chocolate bar. Before Atkins, I never would have dreamed about consuming so many calories! It seems breakfast time is the hardest. Nothing seems to fill me up anymore. And I'm having a lot of fat. Oh well! Stick it out, I guess! How's everyone else doing? |

Good morning all you wonderful ladies. How is everyone? Well, believe it or not it's cooler down here in Florida than it is in New York. What's up with this craziness?
![]() Well, I just got up, fed my cats and checked GMA to see what's happening in the world and now I have to figure out what to have for breakfast. I'm getting tired of eggs so I think I'll run to the store today and get some of the vanilla and chocolate protein powders so I can try one of those many drinks that Christina sent me. Sound pretty yummy. ![]() Here's something to think about....... Diets & Dying Here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The French eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you. What do you think ![]() Seems like I'm doomed since I'm half brit and half yank..... ![]() Have a great day girls and I'll check in later. Mary

Good Morning Ladies!!
Good morning Mary! Starting us off with a laugh today!!! That is always a good thing! ![]() Yeah, I'm with ya on the eggs. I've been eating them for breakfast pretty much every morning too. I think it's time to shake it up now. . . .ah haahaa! I said a funny one!! Get it, "shake it up!" What, it wasn't funny. . .okay never mind then. LOL I wish we were cooler here too! I'm not ready for the summer yet. Oh Christina, send some recipes my way too please!!!![]() And how are you doing??? ![]() I especially would love to have something cold and a coffee-ish protein drink!!! Especially now since we're starting to get warmer outside. I don't want to have to eat something warm everyday. I'm wondering if I should try those cream eggs. They sound good, but I'm scared! ![]() Hi Jaimie! Yes, isn't it fun here!!! I love it!! How's your morning going for you so far? You had your busy day yesterday too! But your off next week Yeah!! I bet you'll be able to concentrate on what you have to do then.Have a great on plan day!! ![]() Hi Chucyc! I didn't realize that you live in Bejing! I don't know why I didn't even look at your location. How's everything over there; weather, food, recreational activities? I know it's beautiful there! Tell us some things about where you live! I'm all ears!!! On eating, make sure you get enough fats in your menu. That will help keep the hunger down. Fats, such as like in your meats, or olive oil, butter, or anything like that. Coconut oil is really good! Have you ever tried that? There are certain brands that you can taste the coconut flavor and some you can't. If you find the kind that you can taste, some say to put a teaspoon or so in your mouth and let it melt and that helps take care of the hunger pangs. Hi Rachel, can't wait to here how you're doing? Hope everything is going well for you this morning! ![]() Hi Chris, how's the mattress? Did you get a good nights sleep! Talk to you when you get here!!! ![]() Hi Kisha! How are you? I hope you're doing well and things are going good this morning!! See ya when you get here!!!Hi Tamekia! Hope you're day is going great!!! Talk to you soon!!! I gotta get ready for work, so I'll see ya all in awhile!!! Love Ya's!! |

Nothing to be scared about the cream eggs. They're delicious! The only thing is, people seem to be thinking that they're ultra filling, but I haven't had that experience yet. It might have to do something with my carb withdrawal. Just add some cream and vanilla and you're ready to go! Beijing's great, just not very Atkins friendly. But in a way, it might be a good thing too!
Honestly, I am pretty shocked at how well Atkins is working for me. I'm eating a lot more, but still losing weight. Today was a great incentive for me to stick to my plan. It seemed no matter how much I ate, I really needed carbs to make me feel full. I think today was the day my body used up all my previous carbs; that's why I was so hungry/in the craving mode. However, I stuck it out (albeit, with the help of AS, which I am determined to slowly stop using), and wow. I told myself I wouldn't look at the scale till Sunday, but I gave in and peaked and I am happy to say that the results were unexpected but very pleasing. I learned that the most important part about losing weight isn't about not eating - it's about eating right. Before, I never would have believed that cutting carbs would be this beneficial. I stuck to a high carb, low fat, low calorie diet. I was very frustrated whenever I got hungry. But now, I realize that hunger isn't necessarily a bad thing; my body is just trying to tell me something. And it's about how I deal with the hunger that's important. With all the fat that I've been eating, it feels weird to say this, but I really feel like my body is purging itself and resetting its eating habits. I couldn't believe just how much I had previously depended on carbs. Also, the fact that carbs really are the main culprit for my sugar cravings. Does anyone else really feel this way? Like your eyes have finally been open? I just feel so much more in control of my life now. I hope everyone is doing well, and the best of luck to you all! If anyone is having a hard day - stick with it! It'll be so worth it. Good luck! |

Good morning! Well day one is over and I already feel better. I feel less bloated and a little more energetic. I forgot how much I love low carb.
B: Johnson's cheddar summer sausage link (2 carbs) coffee (1 carb) L: sausage and steamed veggies (10 carbs total) D: talapia and salad (5 carbs) S: tea (1 carb) I read someone's post about putting pepperoni bits in scrambled eggs to mix it up. I'm going to try that for breakfast tomorrow sounds yummy! |

Hi Chuc,
YES, I do feel the same way when losing on Atkins. I had a great experience last spring when I first started. I was feeling great, not tired and achy, plus, NO CRAVINGS! I was eating delicious, filling, FATTY food and dropping the weight! I sort of got side tracked by researching alot about artificial sweeteners and chemicals...and while I KNOW my family will someday be eating a completely whole food menu. I have done a pretty good job of getting rid of all the HFCS and the MSG, so I know we are healthier...BUT, last spring when I was losing so well, I wasn't worried about diet sodas, sf jello, cool whip and all the yummy LC dessert recipes. So, that being said, I am back on induction and am enjoying AS occassionally, LC shakes and bars and when I am close to goal, I will for SURE be moving into a whole foods approach. ATKINS is the BEST! Peace

Hi Chucyc!
Isn't that something how Atins works! When I get hungry I eat more fat, it seems to fill us up more. I know Atkins says that 15 to 20% of our carbs should come from Vegetables or salads, if you're doing DANDR. I don't think I eat that much, but if you're feel the need to eat more carbs up your vegetables. The more you eat the more you'll lose, then after some time, it seems like our appetite starts to diminish. You're doing really well on your eating!! I can't wait to hear how much you've lost!!! Well, I made oopsie rolls this morning and pancakes out of three of them for breakfast with 3 slices of bacon. Ohh and I made my own syrup...have to share so good. 1 pkt splenda some butter cinnamon and vanilla extract. mmmmmmmm!
I accidentally put too much xathan gum in tho and they are kinda cripsy. Oh well, I willl figure out something to do with them. I am still weighing everyday sometimes even twice a day i am still at 137. i am happy as long as it doesn't go up.Menu: B-3 oopsie pancakes, 3 strips of bacon L- will be out don't know??? D- steak (leftover) probably stir fry it up with some brocolli Chucyc I ate a bunch yesterday too. I think fitday said 2777 calories. I don't know some days I am just so hungry or maybe it's just cravings. But I know this first time I did atkins I never checked calories so I am sure I was way up there then too. I still lost weight so I am not going to worry about it this time. I will eat when I am hungry or when I want food I know the cravings will eventually go away and so will the calories.![]() Diana you really should try the egg creams they are yummy I have had no ill effects from the raw egg. Yet?![]() The mattress was ok I had no trouble falling asleep but my back did hurt this morning...but it is ok now just hurt when I first got up. DH on the other had got out of bed faster than I've seen in years usually it takes him about 2 minutes to actually get off the bed. Today he just hopped out so that was great! We have already spent over $2,000 on medical bills (out of pocket) on his back pain just this year. It really sucks! ![]() |

Diana,
The sausages are good. Nice and cheesy and really filling. I think the calories are about 350 which is high but I am trying to make sure that I get enough calories in so my running doesn't flip me into starvation mode. Wow, my energy is really going up today. I am so happy! I thought I was doing well by eating whole grains and oatmeal but it looks like I may have just been poisening myself. I have been so tired until I started eating low carb again yesterday. |

Hey Ladies,
I haven't been on the site in a couple of weeks and I just found this thread. Diana I remember you from the other thread the Atkins 72, thanks for starting this because I really need it. I haven't read all the posts but from what I've read so far I definitely want to be apart of this one. Meekness I see that you are from Northern, VA we are practically neighbors I live in Richmond, VA. Nice to see someone so close by. So tell me this gang, do you think that the Splenda in the packets contribute to stalling? Maybe I should not use it and try to cut the coffee and cheese. I have really bad head aches when I don't drink coffee. What do you guys think? |
