Start Date: Induction on 7/22/08; Surgery 12/06
Last night was HARD again - crummy tummy and exhausted, but today I have energy...the problems from last night have passed...and I love induction again.

I'm wondering just how much I'll loose in the first two weeks - I'm already lower than I ever thought possible - even with surgery - so this is just making the outside the pretty girl that I am inside at a much faster rate.

Good morning!

Well I am down 3 pounds and today is day 4. So that is all good

In Jan. 07 I lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks, but I weighed alot more, so I don't
expect that again. I would be happy with 7-8! My goal is to lose 15,
so now I have 12 left. I can do it!

Will you all please give me a bat to hit my DH with!!

Hi all
Boy..has this been ONE day from H..again!! First off...Brandon got up and was sick at his stomach and starting throwing up and his fever went to 104So..Mike is on 2nd shift and didn't get home bed to 2am..I was up with Brandon by 4 am...I went to get Mike up at 8 to tell him Brandon was sick again and that is when this started...

I told him I had not been able to fix me anything to eat for Breakfast..he looked at me and said that I should have done that sooner ...I blew up and told him fine..I would not eat anything and that I was calling the doctor to take Brandon back again...Brandon had to go back to the doc and now has a Ear infection in his right ear and more antibiotics were given.. Mike was fussing on the way home from the doctor that he had not had his coffee or anything to eat...Stop to get his medicine and he asked me if I wanted and snack..U all know I dont eat HC foods and I told him that...so by the time we got home it was 2pm!! Still me with nothing to eat I started fixing me hamburger and he told me that I need to watch my son so he could get ready for work..I said that I had not had anything to eat yet...He said I told you I was get you something..I said yea..all you would have gotten me was a HC sweet snack!! He said well..you are not going to starve anyway... Then he said you are eating too many hamburgers..you bloodwork you had done MUST be way off!! I told him I was going to get a copy of my bloodwork and shove it up his A!! Said you cant live like this the rest of your life..you are going to die a early age and I told him I could not live on HC foods and Sweets for the rest of my life and he would not live to see his Son grow up...He went to work in a huff and I am sitting here venting now and still have not ate anything...

MEN!!

Anyway..TY all for letting me vent again...this is really getting old..Got to go and keep a watchful eye on B..maybe I will get to eat something sometime today...

HUGS and Luv you all!

My egg carton says that one egg is less than 1 gram of carbs, but when I put it into fit day it shows it as 1 gram per egg AND 4.7 grams of carbs for my salad and 4 or more for my vegies. I don't want to be just eating meat. I need veggies but it seems that I am going over. I'm getting upset this morning. I got on the scale and it shows that I have only lost 3.5 pounds in 2 weeks tomorrow. I'm so bummed about this right now.

Karen
In the original Atkins book he says that too much salad can stall some people, and that even some have to cut it out for a while...that's what I'm doing....just eating everything but vegies for a while. It'll happen, just stick with it!

I think it depends. Depending on how you stick with it and if you exercise. If you stick with it and don't exercise, it could be between 5 to 10lbs, if you exercise, it could be more. It just varies. You've already got 4lbs down, I bet it will be more by next week!!!

Hi Kristina, you're right about that! I have that same book and I do remember reading that. I get into the veggies and then I lesson them. But right now I'm in the veggie mode.
Thanks for the reminder!!

Finishing day 4 of induction and I feel pretty darn good. In fact, better than when
I was eating on maintenance and had fruit, ezekial bread, almonds, almond butter, all the yummies! I think getting clean was a very good choice!

Kristina - I think I will cut back on my salads and see how that does. I haven't gotten on the scale yet, but today is week two. I do plan on sticking with it though because I do "feel" better not eating a lot of carbs. Thanks for the info!!!

Christina - How is Brandon feeling??

Chris - thanks for the compliment. You do Curves huh? I've been tryign to walk at least 30-45 minutes a day. I missed a day this week due to rain. I am hoping to get to run soon. I am going to start the Couch to 5K program. My goal is a 5K on October 4, Susan G. Komen race. Let's just hope I can do this.

Diana - I agree 100% with Chris. You are definately a motivator! I appreciate it!!

Good morning to everybody!!

Well I just weighed and i'm up 1.5 pounds. so this gives me a grand total of loss for TWO STUPID WEEKS a total of 1.5 pounds. I'm absolutely disgusted and I don't know if this is the diet for me. How could I not lose in 2 weeks???? This makes absolutely no sense to me at all.

Hi Karen, don't worry Hon, it's going to work. Mayb Bella can offer some tips! Just hang in there, it could be something hidden that you eating that you may not be aware that has hidden carbs.
Don't worry, we'll figure this out!!

Here's my weekly check in:

down 7 pounds, and 1 inch in my waist

I've left the 300s behind FOREVER!

I've felt great all week, I'm sleeping better, I don't have the brain fog anymore, and I'm not hungry all the time!

I've managed to stay on my program even with 3 unexpected dining-out occasions (1 at my father-in-laws, 2 at restaurants) and I've done my moderate walk on the treadmill everyday.

I'm loving this way of life!

good morning ladies!!! I am EXHAUSTED!!!! got home from bingo about 9:30, showered and sat until 10:30 then went to bed w/feet still hurting. Was up at 5am today and going thru the day!

I am at work so we really need to get home computer fixed!!

I did loose the 4lbs i was up . i knew it was water retention so that means i am maintaining the 230 ! now to kick it up a notch and go lower than i have ever been in years!! I need help!! i need more exercise i guess.. i haven't done the tae bo in a month. but i'm walking constantly 4+ hrs w/bingo and then swimming when we are at the lake. i know it helps but maybe it's not quite the same.

Christina - sorry to hear about DH being an A$$ yesterday. moody and grumpy is not a good combo! we are here for you!!! hope brandon feels better today!!

Chris & Di - how about i go by Roadrunner.. meep meep !!! I hate to just not post so i figure a minute to drop in at least! i need to stay accountable and i would miss you guys if i'm not on!!! wish i had more time or a working computer at home right now i can snag!! i think DD's laptop may become "missing" !! hahaha

Ok, how about Sunday we plan a pontoon/margarita party??! I agree, a margarita is a margarita no matter the flavor!! or we can skip the frilly stuff all together, just suck down the Tequila and be done w/it!! "no officer, I didn't realize my boat was sitting ON the dock w/the motor running, I thought we were just dodging fish!"

Bella - you go girl!! keep up the great work!!

anyone hear from Laura??!! how is she doing?! hope she didn't give up! she was doing so well for awhile!!

Hi Kristina!! Hi QGirl!! Hi Darleen, Jamie, Mary (i loved your joke yesterday!!! w/the tshirt sayings!!)

have a great day all, i gotta get busy here but will check in later.

Karen I feel your frustration. Boy do I ever. I don't see your stats and from your picture you look like you're at your normal weight (whatever the heck normal is). Perhaps your goal weight needs readjusting. did I miss your personal data? Age, height, etc.

all those factors need to be considered. I've been hounding everyone on this forum about reading Paul Campos's book The Diet Myth because it contains lots of important information, not the least of which is the fact we all have unrealistic expectations of what we "should" weigh.

Fat is not unhealthy IF YOU ARE FIT. Exercise is important NOT because it will help you lose weight (it won't and believe me I am the poster girl for THAT one. Ask me.) but because it keeps us healthy.

I'm currently reading Mary Enig's book Eat Fat, Lose Fat which is another one I highly recommend. I have started following her suggestion of drinking 1 TBS of coconut oil in a cup of tea or coffee 20 minutes prior to EACH meal of the day. let me tell you it has pretty much killed my appetite. I mean I TRULY am NOT hungry for hours. Pretty amazing. Plus I'm not feeling the need to eat so much at a meal.

I'm still doing low carb but did up them from near zero to something a bit more reasonable (like 10 per meal) and the constipation has cleared up.

Still not sure if the Wilsons Syndrome herbal thyroid remedies were the problem but the bloating I've suffered for over a week is also now gone. I quit taking them yesterday. However, someone else on another thread pointed out my gut issues last week could well have been a candida die-off. We'll see. I sure feel better today and weight is down a smidge again to 197.4; not great since that's a 15 pound GAIN since the end of February but I'm still struggling to overcome all the damage from the Jenny Craig thing.

Well, gotta go fix breakfast. We had pork loin last night and since it was HUGE I'm having that and a slice of the Bavarian whole grain rye bread with 1 TBS of butter. Bavarian makes the BEST whole grain. It's sliced about 1/8" thick and is about 4" square and is chock full of good stuff. 10 g of carbs per slice.

Speaking of carbs, yesterday I had half a grapefruit for breakfast, salad for lunch made with 2 cups sliced romaine, 1/2 a cucumber and a small handful of grape tomatoes. Dinner's carbs was a cup of steamed broccoli.

Today I'm having the toast for breakfast, salad again at lunch and I have fresh blackberries in the fridge so may have to splurge.

Christina, get some rest, hon. I'm SO sorry for all your troubles. men. Can't shoot 'em, can't live with 'em.
