Hi Karen,
you could go to LindaSue's website and find some really good dessert recipes! I've made many IF desserts. But I tell you what, those muffins are good! Teeheeh!!! You should track your food on Fitday to see exactly what you're intaking, percentage wise. Then you'll know if you have to add more carbs, fats, or protein. . .or take away. That really helps!! |

Ug, hello all
Yesterday I snapped and ripped open a bag of (gluten free) chocolate chip cookies. I can't tell you what came over me, I just snapped. I think I am dealing with a lot of stress right now, with school and some personal stuff, and I just went BAM!, right back into my old habits. It doesn't help that I have been depressed about my weightloss. I have lost forty pounds, and no one can tell. My husband says he can tell, but my best friend said she really couldn't tell, and so did my mother-in-law. I feel like forty pounds should be a big enough difference that people notice! But I realize that I am still big, and after another 40 pounds people will really be able to tell. I just want someone to notice my hard work! Anyway, I am taking a break for a week. I need a breather. I am going to finish this next big exam, go to a movie, and just relax. Then I will start induction again, and consider it as a new induction, so I don't feel like I have been doing this so long (I hate that feeling). I know breaks aren't going by the plan, but the way I look at it, as long as I am coming back to the plan, I am not giving up completely, right? I hope someone else understands how I feel Talk to you all later.....

Good morning ladies!!! It's still raining. Rained through the whole night last night. Yuck!!
Diana - that's what I will start doing today, using the fitday.com site. AND I think I will try to make a nice dessert, induction friendly of course!!! Christina - BB 10 is not as good as BB 9 or 8 is it? I'm not sure if I'm enjoying it this season or not. Hubby is, but it can seem to keep my attention 100%. Tiffany - I'm sorry that nobody can notice 40 pounds, I find that hard to believe!!!! 40 pounds is A LOT!!!! Congratulations on that. Don't be down on yourself. You CAN do it!!! It's just going to take some time. Well, hi-ho, hi-ho it's off to work I go. Have a great day all!! Karen |

Can't seem to snap back!
Good morning everybody,
been off plan for a few days, and gained all my weight back. Just been dealing with alot of stress. Need some help. Still going through postpartum deppression, and trying to take care of my kids. I am also trying to get back in school, I take a test Aug.4 and need to study for it. My baby had her shots yesterday and was cranky. I ended up eating 6 ounces of pecans and a lc ice cream bar, URGH I was doing good up till that point, had about 50 carbs yesterday. Hope I do better today, I just feel horrible about not being able to stay on plan. DH doesn't make things any better, Can't seem to get him to come home and help me with these kids. He might have somebody else, I don't know. On the good side, I got up early and got a little excercise in before baby woke up. Did some situps and stair climber. My menu for this morning is a mock danish with 1 ounce of cream cheese and some coffee w/cream. Trying to take things slow and not to strict, Just need to stay below 20g of carbs. Pray for me.Baby |

Hi Tiff, I'm sorry about how you're feeling, but don't let what two peoples say determine your woe. I know 40 lbs is alot! And it's noticeable too! I cannot believe that your friend and mil cannot notice, if your husband who sees you everyday notices, how can they not. Nope, I don't beleive them and neither should you!! You keep doing what you're doing for you, and not anyone else. You're doing great and you have been so on fire Girl!! You are inspiring me!!! Dont worry about what you ate. We have all been there and done that, and we know what it's like. But the best thing to do is just keep forging ahead and don't think about what happened. Turn that 40 into another 40, you can do it!!! Remember we are all here for you, so post when you're feeling this way. WE all care about you!!!! ![]() Quote:
![]() Don't worry about the food, I'm sure it's all water weight you gained, most likely that's what it is. Just remember to drink tons of water!! You are doing so good too! The best thing is to continue lc because it really does help in how we feel. Like I mentioned to Tiff, do this for you! You can do this!!! We here for you too and we will all help you out in any way we can. Hang in there Baby!!! ![]()

Good morning all! I'm so sorry to hear that some of you are having a rough time (been there) but this is definitely the place to help you through those tough times. This is more like a sisterhood than a forum. We're here for you.
A while back I posted a short little line that had a huge message. Here it is: "I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure which is: Try to please everybody." I've had a rough journey myself and can understand about how things can get you down. I suffer from GAD and it's taken a lot for me to keep it under control without the use of these stupid pills they give you. They tried me on several before I just said NO MORE and found a natural cure. But, to make a long story short, I discovered that talking to people was a huge help. If you try to do it on your own (like everything else we do) it is far more difficult than if you share with friends (like US... ) Remember: "You can't control the wind, but you can control your sails".I'm trying to get this in early as we're expecting more thunderstorms today. If that's all we get this hurricane season I'll be a happy camper. ![]() Well, gotta go but I'll be back. Have a blessed day everyone ![]() A young couple got married and left on their honeymoon. When they got back, the bride immediately called her mother. "Well, how was the honeymoon?" asked the mother. "Oh mamma!" she exclaimed. "The honeymoon was wonderful! So romantic!" No sooner had she spoken the words than she burst out crying. "But mamma . . . as soon as we returned, Sam started using the most horrible language. He's been saying things I've never heard before! All these awful 4-letter words! You've got to come get me and take me home... please mamma!" "Now Sarah . . ." her mother answered. "Calm down! Tell me, what could be so awful? What 4-letter words has he been using?" "Please don't make me tell you, mamma." wept the daughter. "I'm so embarrassed! They're just too awful! You've got to come get me and take me home... please mamma!" "Darling, baby, you must tell me what has you so upset . . . Tell your mother these horrible 4-letter words!" Still sobbing, the bride replied, "Oh, mamma . . . words like dust, wash, iron, and cook!"

Good post Mary! That is so true! I know we may not agree on things, (that's hardly been the case with all of us), but no matter what, we are all here for the same reason and that's to lose, and receive support from one another.
I just don't know where I would be if the Lord didn't bring me to this place. I know for sure, I would have given up and gained everything I lost! But I love you Ladies and you all have strengths in different areas that we all love and are encouraged by! I dont' mean to speak for everyone, but I think everyone feels the same. So let's stick to this and not let anyone or anything get in our way of meeting our goals!!! I've got 3 days doing clean eating! I can't believe it! LOL!! My scale is going down again! Yeah! I started eating more salads with my meal and eating them with my protein, so I don't eat as much protein and I'm able to up my fats too. Seems to be working and I feel full and satisfied. First time in a long time!!! My biggest challenge will be the weekend! As long as I keep busy at work, and not be idle doing nothing, then I won't think about food. TTYL!! Love Ya!!! ![]() |

Baby - I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. We are here to talk to you whenever you need.
Diana - I thought that lettuce was a free food?? I think I have been going over my 20 carb limit. I eat at least 2 cups of salad at night with my dinner, plus at least a couple of vegies, either brocolli, yellow squash or zuchini or brussel sprouts and then my protein. My egg carton says that one egg is less than 1 gram of carbs, but when I put it into fit day it shows it as 1 gram per egg AND 4.7 grams of carbs for my salad and 4 or more for my vegies. I don't want to be just eating meat. I need veggies but it seems that I am going over. I'm getting upset this morning. I got on the scale and it shows that I have only lost 3.5 pounds in 2 weeks tomorrow. I'm so bummed about this right now. ![]() Karen |

How do I put my picture on here. It's not going on. It is under my profile but I can't get it to be seen. It keeps saying upload failed?? Never mind. I figured it out!! Can I crop the picture??? Karen Last edited by Kellen66; 07-24-2008 at 06:59 AM.. |

Ahh, look at you Karen!! You're as Cute as a button!!!
I think you're right on with the vegetables and salads! They look good to me. But if you're having a hard time losing, maybe you can take a ways a veggie. Unless anyone else can give some advice?? I should have said I'm eating other vegetables, mainly cucumbers, brocoli, radishes, plus I've been eating strawberries too, but alot of lettuce. The strawberries sure kill the hunger pang for me. Hi gootolaff!! I'm glad to see you back!!! I know you can do A72 and have great success with it!! We'll all help you on that!!! |

Thanks!
So, lettuce, is that basically a free food then?? Can I eat as much of that as well as cucumbers?? Right now though I need to stay away from strawberries right. I love spinach salad with red onion and sliced strawberries in a balsamic dressing. It's so delicious. I could eat a ton of that too. So, mainly the vegie that i eat should be brocolli. What about kale, collards? I can eat them too right, they are low in carbs I think. I love the dark green vegies. My husband can't have too much of the green vegies though because he takes Coumadin and it counteracts the medication. So, I just have to do vegies for myself and vegies for the family. I want to make hotwings tonight for dinner. I have 2 packages of chicken wings that I took out of the freezer so I think, since it's me and hubby only, the kids are all working tonight so they eat at work. Maybe hotwings and a salad. How does that sound?? |

Diana - you're the best!!!! I'm not doing any particular one I don't think. I did it about 10 years ago and that's what is stuck in my head now. I'm just not eating any processed crap, shopping the perimeter of the grocery store, that type of thing. But I guess the A72 one is pretty close to it right? Thanks for doing that list for me. You are very sweet.

I think that on A72, you are able to add more foods in sooner than the DANDR. But they all work! Sometimes I get mixed up as to which one I'm doing myself!!
![]() But I try to keep closer to A72 induction which is very little carbs at first. I am eating the salads and vegies that are lower in carbs. BBL! Off to work!!! |
