Starting Induction 3-31-08 Buddies? Advice?
I teach 2nd grade and feel I'll do much better starting once I'm back to school after spring break and following a schedule. Hopefully theres someone out there ready to start Monday the 31st also. It also gives me time to clear out all the carbs from the house and shop to prepare to begin induction.
I'm single and I know that's a great advantage, however, I'd like some ideas for quick, easy meals as I do not really cook. I think I'll begin with a corned beef and some cabbage as that should last a couple of days. Sound okay? |

Hi there ieduc8. As far as meals go, have you visited LindaSue's website yet? If not, here is the link Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Recipes. All the induction friendsly recipes are marked with an *. There are some really AWESOME recipes on there, and most are pretty easy to make! I consider myself a pretty novice cook, and to be honest, I really don't like cooking that much. But I usually end up making at least one thing from her website a week. Good luck!!

I have begun my day. I am also going to take my measurements today . I forgot to weigh in this morning so I will have to do that tomorrow and go with tomorrows weight as a starting point. Are we listing what we eat daily? Thanks for starting this thread.

You can make egg, chicken. or tuna salads. Be careful with the corned beef as it has alot of salt and nitrates and they both can have an effect on weightloss. That happens to be one of my favorites. I keep cooked bacon on hand at all times. I buy the romaine lettuce in a bag. I have made a turkey in the past and eaten from that for a week. You can do the same with a roast or a roasted chicken. If you dont have a crock pot I suggest investing in one. For someone who doesnt cook much the crockpot is a blessing. Just throw all your goodies in it in the morning and when you come home dinner is served.

Hi and welcome! I am currently finishing up my student teaching internship in the 1st grade!
![]() I'm single too... and I'm just wrapping up my two weeks of induction. Here's are some of my favorite dinners: Pork chops Beef burgers Turkey burgers Chicken breast w/ skin Chicken drumsticks w/ skin Steak ...all of these can be purchased in bulk, and frozen in individual portions. I've got a freezer full, and I throw one or two in the refridgerator the night before or the morning of. I prepare one in the morning while making eggs, and pack it up for lunch. ...all served with raw veggies. I like cucumber, broccoli, cauliflour, celery, and green beans. ![]() Hope that helps! Be planned and prepared, and you will do great. Teachers must do especially well on Atkins, since we are used to planning (and being flexible)! Being flexible on Atkins means Low-Carb Double Whopper from Burger King. ![]()

I have just started my first atkins yesterday - 1st April. But 1 - 2 weeks prior to that i have started to slowly wean off carb. Have not been easy if im stuck at home. Worst is that i am now in Singapore and in Asia carb/rice is a part of a staple diet. Wish myself all the best.
Regards, Samantha |
