New here and on day 3 of induction

Been reading forever but have finally felt ready enough to start. Had the LC flu the first day but have done well since. I am not weighing in until Sunday so I hope to see results. I have had some minor cravings and a few bad thoughts about eggs LOL. Hoping this will jumpstart a weight loss that I can keep going.

bionicbon-
It looks like you and I started on the same day. I had 3 "perfect" days of induction- but I am feeling pretty lousy. I did feel better when I went back to work. As of this morning, I am down 5 lbs. I know this WOE works wonders for me--- and NOT eating this way does not agree with me. When I am on, I lose, lose, lose. As soon as I stopped I gain, gain, gain. That should be a giant red flag for me, right?

Good luck. Keep me posted.

Thanks! I cant wait to weigh I of course do not feel like I have lost a pound I feel just as fat as ever but, there is no way I could not lose.
I am glad the cravings are stopping. Now that I have this part going good I think I am going to add in some exercise. I would have added it sooner but wanted to wait until my energy was up and the ickies left me.
I am only 5'3 so every pound is noticeable.
It so far has not been hard to acclimate to the WOE . I have 4 kids and they will pretty much eat anything. Int eh past that had beent he downfall of me since I had to cook separate meals. They are big enough now to fix their own food if they dont like what I am having.
So far I have not had to deal with eating out . We did have food friday at a chinese buffet but I just had them stir fry me some thin sliced meats and had some fish. Once I realized there were ways around it it became easier.
All alst week was sort of a test run and the whole figuring out things. Did pretty well on the test run so, decided to start on Sat morning.
I was down to my highschool weight of 122 in 05 then found I was pregnant with my son , Was actually only 155 at his birth but had put on 30 plus pounds after his birth. I have taken off small amounts here and there but really needed the motivation.I would be happy with anything in the 145 or less area.

where are your veggies in those menus? Atkins isn't fat and protein we have madadtory veggies evey day. We need the micronutrients in the veggies to keep our bodies burning off body fat so if you haven't read the book get a copy of DANDR 2002 read it cover to cover so you understand the whys of the rules and then start eating those veggies 3 whole cups a day.

you do want to spread your carbs out to all 3 meals so you don't do a bolus effect of blood sugar change at just one meal.

Color on the strip isn't related to weight loss at all so don't worry about your color ligher means you could be burning off the type of ketones the strip tests for so you are always making more or it could mean you are wellhydrated as the color is only the concnetration and if you drink more your color will be lighter then if you don't.

Happy low carbing

I know I needed veggies I sprinkled some through dinner and my evening snack. I just felt so sick yesterday I was lucky to get anything down. I did eat a salad with dinner then also had some salad for a snack.I definately had 3 cups I just was so sick in the morn that I couldnt gag any down .
I have read the book and know about the veggies and usually have a salad since I am not fond of many acceptable veggies.
I dont ususally even use hte keto stix. I just had some leftover from before and was curious because I felt like crap and wondered if I was in ketosis.
Here is todays menu
Breakfast
SOme link sausage and fried cabbage Oh and coffee

Lunch
More of the previous sausage ( I cooked a ton of it)
about 1 1/2 cups salad
0 carb dressing

Dinner
Small dinner salad and some steamed cauliflower
4 oz steak

I have he ickies again tonight UGHHH

Oh I did try a small bit of the coconut bark with a sprinkle of almonds
It was alright but kind of a weird consistency

Probably have a little egg salad for a snack if I feel better.

Is this really so? I have been drinking a lot of water and was worried about what I was doing wrong. I pee at 6am and it never reaches 1.5 (which is what I thought I should be in, slightly crimson, not pink). I am usually light pink.

Ok so I have been MIA
We are doing a total bedroom makeover for the kids so We have been painting 3 bedrooms and sewing curtains for the ones that cant fid that perfect fit.
I am exhausted, On the upside, I weighed in Yesterday at day 7 and my weight is down to 172.8 So.. down 7 lbs
Now for another big week.
Almost screwed up tonight,
We were in a hurry and threw a pizza in for the kids
I had that pizza in my hand and to my mouth before I remembered I couldnt have it. Nice save. I ended up eating a bratwurst and a salad.
I will try to post my menu daily .

As long as it changes colour you're in ketosis. Darker purple does not mean better, or that you're burning fat faster. And over time you may find it gets paler, as you body gets more efficient at using the ketones rather than excreting them. Honestly, there are more important things to focus on than the exact colour of that strip! I'm not even using them this time, as I have a tendency to get obsessive about that kind of thing.

I agree about obsessing over strips. I did this several years ago and used the strips then. I found that they were another way to make me feel "good" or "bad" about this woe. Along with food, clothing, the scale- I do NOT need yet another "thing" to control how I feel on this. I hope using them works out for you guys- but as for me, I cannot handle another obsession.
