1st Induction Day

Does this look okay?

Breakfast:
3 eggs scrambled in 1T. olive oil w/0 carb salsa

Lunch:
8 shrimp dipped in melted butter
Linda's LC jalapeno poppers w/ranch dressing for dipping (3 whole)

Dinner at 54th Street Bar & Grill:
1 - 5oz. petite bacon-wrapped fillet mignon[sp?]
1/2 c. mixed veggies (summer squash/mushrooms/broccoli)
house salad with ranch dressing (lettuce, egg, cheese)

How is salsa 0 carbs? Tomatoes and onions have carbs?

The jar says 1T. zero carbs. The ingredients do not include any type of sugar. I'm going by what it says.

Thats what you have to look out for. 1 TBL. = 0 carbs. But what about just over a tablespoon?Then the carbs come into play. The labels on food products in this country are not always , shall we say, what they seem to be. Do you only eat 1 tbls? It is like the labels that say <1 carb (which means less than) but if you eat more than the serving size listed then you are consuming more carbs than the label says. And how do we calculate that?
I know for a fact that tomatoes have carbs. Do you have a carb counter book? Sometimes you have to estmimate it on your own.
That is just my own observation and opinion on it. Just trying to help you out.

Help I have been doing a low carb diet for 2 weeks and have only lost 3 lbs. I'm only eating 20-30 carbs a day !!! Why aren't I losing more weight

Yes, I only use 1 T. Therefore 0 carbs, correct?

The first 2 weeks the weight lost is mostly water weight. Maybe you just haven't retained that much water. That's good.

Technically the label can state 0 carbs if it's less than .5. So you could count it as half a carb to be safe..

I use Pace Picante that also doesn't list any added sugar. It said that one 2 T serving has 2 carbs. That sounds better to me. Just for sh*ts and giggles, I would always count salas as one carb per Tablespoon cause it has tomatoes and onions so it has to have carbs.

First, which way of eating are you following? Atkins,PP,WW,SB, CA?
