This is what it looks like pre roasted/chopped/etc..
I pick mine up at my favorite local asian grocery store for $2.49 each (about 2 pounds or so). They also have them at farmers market/natural grocery stores (but usually more $$). I hope you can find them and enjoy it as much as I do! |

Talk about the ugly duckling turning into the swan!! LOL Very interesting vegetable. I've heard of it on the Food Network but never seen one. I'll keep my eyes out for them. They make some wicked looking fries thats for sure!

**warning- bragging on myself!!**
This is what happens when you go to the grocery store hungry after watching everyone at work pig out on Taco Bell. I've been wanting to try their shrimp tacos...I had one -it was good but I think I can do better and low carb! I used a teaspoon of Grill Mates Mesquite (sp?) seasoning with 2 T butter and Teaspoon of water to cook shrimp. I made slaw with jalapeno ranch dressing mix and coleslaw shreds in bag Rinsed Romaine leaves, sliced red bell, sliced avacado, and made a cilantro-sour cream spread...and added small amount of pace picante...OMG I had 4 of them...seriously could not stop!! |

Ok was hoping for my first pic to be something a lil more than this but, hey! ...A little quick snack as I got home from work. Its regular and bbq pork rinds with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese (taco blend) toasted for 15 mins.... kinda messy wid di presentation but it'll get better...promise

Absolutely! If you're looking to expand your repertoire, my blog (link below) contains about 175 recipes now, most of which are induction friendly and marked with an (IF). I am too stubborn not to enjoy my food.
Welcome to LCF. Here is to your success! |

Quick question chefs and low carbers alike. Has any one had issues with high cholesterol since they started induction? If so, what did you do about it? My hubby and I both have our levels elevated, I know this is from a life time of high carbing, no exercise and all other bad habits. I've re-committed to induction only 8 days now, and I would like to really beat the battle of body fat &/cholesterol. TIA

Thanks cleo I will check it out I need some new ideas and god the pics of food on here look great. Is there any good books to buy for recipes thats strictly for Induction, all the ones ive seen have stuff thats way past the 20 carbs I need. Also I posted this somewhere else and didnt get a response yet but do you subtract only dietary fiber or can you subtract just fiber to get net carbs?

Good Morning Low Carbers!!!! just making a quick note before going off to work...
This morning is kind of a lazy one. Made a shake from a scoop of whey protein, a tsp of creamer, a tblsp of whipping cream and a dash of almond flavour. added about two -three cups of water..... quite nice !! ![]() |

RE: Dreamfields Pasta
I wouldn't use it during induction..... Maybe later on in cycling...Just my opinion. On the other hand... I have used it, I've heard it should be al dente, to keep the carb count low. I have used it for spaghetti and the elbows for a macaroni salad for familt get together. |

Dreamfields and Baking mix are not ok for induction, definitely. Those come in the higher rungs.
That's not in any way to harsh on the mellows of the delectable vixens here who have mentioned the fineries of the latter stages. We just don't want to confuse the n00bs. ![]() |
