Oh and onions are in the other veggie category, if you are going by the book. Not sure about garlic(1 cup measurement is before cooking)

Other Vegetables
You can have one cup per day of these veggies if salad does not exceed two cups.

The chicken and sausage dish sounds wonderful. I have printed it off and will be shopping to plan on making it next week.

I would caution that it is not for Induction, so anyone following strict Induction may want to save it for another rung of OWL.

If you are simply holding your carbs under 20 per day.....sounds perfectly divine.

What is not induction friendly? If it's the wine, the alcohol is cooked out.

Wine and or lemon juice....if we are talking strict induction...they are on the "forbidden list"....DANDR doesn't qualify cooked or non-cooked. (Not to mention that alcohol/wine..reduced is reduced to sugar.) I just want to clarify for those following DANDR to the letter....so there is full disclosure.

I for one consider myself to be on Induction, but I will definitely be trying the recipe.

Yep, you are right about the wine.
But I am showing for the juice:

Lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrate per ounce); limit to two to three tablespoons

You may be correct on that one....I simply went to my print outs of acceptable foods and forbidden foods....and obviously fruit/fruit juice was on the forbidden. Again, I guess I don't follow Induction to the letter, other than 20 grams or less carbs....but I'm glad we could clarify this for any newbies who may be reading the thread.

No problem. The lemon/lime juice is under the acceptable beverages section.

I used wine because my Atkins book has Induction recipes with alcohol (cognac, dry wines, etc. - I just checked). I've also seen it listed on the Atkins website Induction menu plan - something (chicken?) with a wine sauce.

If you're concerned about it, though, the original recipe calls for lemon juice.

How 'bout wrapping it around some mini portabellas or other mushrooms?

Hmmm that sounds good...think I'll try it today...

Another good idea. I really like the mushrooms because I don't have to worry about clogging up the pipes if you know what I mean!!! I may try the cheese though because it sounds good.

Stephanie, you inspired me. Well you and the fact that we have temperatures in the 30s today in South Florida!! I've been in the kitchen trying to just keep that stove and oven going! Here is beanless chili! Perfect for a cold winter day!

Oh, Barb, that looks fantastic! I can't believe it's so cold there! If you check out my journal, linked in my signature, I posted the chili that my husband made last night. It's not technically induction friendly because balsamic vinegar is a MUST (I mean, you could sub, but it's sooo worth it). Yours look darn good and you're right...absolutely perfect for a cold day.

I'm planning bacon wrapped chicken thighs (boneless) served with caponata for tomorrow. I'll need to double check the ingredients in the caponata before I post it, though.
