Any one know of any low cost low carb meals

Does anyone know of any low carb meals that are cheap to make. I dont have much money but this diet seems to be the only diet I can do and lose weight, I started around November first and have lost about a little under 14 lbs I started at 225.5 and now am 211.8 is this a good amount of weight to lose or should I have lost more? I am also stuck on losing weight I havent lost anything since last week, but I have the list of things to try from the previous post which helped a lot. So any advice or meal ideas would be awsome.

Eggs are cheap. They are a HUGE part of my diet. I love to whip up Deviled eggs (I mince a tiny bit of onion and put a little sugar free sweet relish in the yolks alon with Mayo...it's good), Crustless quiches, and if Im hungry at night scrambled eggs are quick and filling.

Also I make a Big skillet of Browned hamburg with garlic and a little onion, Drain it and add 1/2 a thinly sliced head of cabbage then add worstershire and cook until the cabbage is done. It is very filling. My whole household likes it. I like to add mustard or soy sauce when I eat it.

WATER. water is cheap and it is very important that you drink lots of it. Good luck!!

I will have to try that, Never really thought of putting cabbage in with hamburger but its sounds yummy. I think I will also whip up some deviled eggs too havent had those in ages... I drink plenty of water (I think, about 6 16oz bottles a day) I also find Crystal light yummy.

Turkey is a great choice this time of year. I get a small one and cook it in my small roaster and use the meat in salads, or just dunk in mayo, mustard and horse radish.

Or, I cut up the turkey like I would a chicken. Slice up the breast into fillets, marinate in some soy, vinegar, garlic and ginger and fry up. VERY tender, and good for lunches. Then put 1 leg and thigh in the crock pot and slow cook for a meal.

So many things to do with a Turkey, before I started this new way or eating, (I always call it a diet but in reality it is a new way of eating but u know that) I was a freezer queen mom, just pop in the oven and on sundays I would cook a huge meal, but now I am making my own food which btw tastes so much better because I can make it my way with restrictions of course. Thanks for the tips.

I'm on a serious budget!! I spend only $150 a week for a family of five and that includes a bit of wine for the weekends.

I use a lot of eggs. So many ways!! In one day, I might have an omelette, chop a hb egg into a salad, and then eat deviled eggs.

I also buy roasting chickens...at Costco I spend about $7-8 for two. I use every bit of the bird. Hamburger is fairly cheap also.

Basically, I limit my meat/poultry to evenings. Otherwise I"m just using up too much meat for myself instead of sharing it with my husband and kids!

I can get a big pack of lettuce that lasts most of the week at Costco and their cream is reasonably priced as well.

Cheap is my middle name. We don't even have a budget.I only shop when there is some"extra" money. So again,EGGS,EGGS,EGGS......
Ground beef in bulk
celery
cream cheese
frozen brocc
pork rinds and sour cream

Those are my staples.
I eat scrambled with cheese, omlets with crm cheese, egg salad, hard boiled eggs. I make all kinds of made up dishes with ground beef and seasonings and cheese and crm cheese and garlic and onion and whatever else you like the taste of. I also eat alot of bacon. I fill the celery with cream cheese or the egg salad as a lunch item, I make taco meat with the ground beef and layer it on a plate with cheese and onion and sour cream and that is my meal. I eat pork rinds and sour cream for snacks. I have become creative with whatever i have. Even if I get sick of it or dont like the taste i eat it anyway because it's all I have and I know this way of eating works and i just do it!

try shopping early in the morning that is when they mark down a lot of the meats that are 1-2 days from the sell by date. you can get a great price on them and freeze them for later use.
Also find a produce stand cause they usually have cheaper prices then the grocery stores.

Look in the frozen foods section cause many times veggies are cheaper there then in the produce section and they have great sales periodically. right now my krogers has brocolli in 1 pound boxes 10 for $10 so it is $1 a pound it is 1.99 a pound in the fresh produce section.

i forgot also if they are having a big meat or seafood sale check it out the last day of the sale and if it looks like it is well stocked check the store the day after the sale ends cause all that excess will be marked dowm. Also if they are sold out you can get a rain check for the stuf and you can tell them you wanted 10 pounds of it or whatever and they will give you a rain check for that many pounds of the stuff at that price. We got fresh fish on sale 2 months after the sale cause I had my rain check and when it is now $9 a pound and I'm getting it for 1.99 a pound I'm feeling really good about having it several days in a row.

Also if you have a freezer learn what meats go on sale when like right now turkey and hams are low during Lent fish will get marked down summer holidays ground beef steaks and ribs go on sale and our market puts chicken on sale about every 6 weeks. Also watch for them introducing a new brand like An organic chicken farm just popped into our krogers last month and boneless skinless chicken breasts from then were introductory priced $1.99 a pound. filled the cart with those and then froze then. they are now $4.99 a pound

Also Monday is a great day for marked down cause it didn't sell on the weekend stuff

One of my favourite cheap meals are tuna patties. I add an egg, a little scallion and a dash of liquid smoke made into 5 small patties, fried in butter or coconut oil. (wow, run on sentence much?) To dip, I use sugar-free ketchup with horseradish mixed in.

There are a plethora of ways to make them. Cheap and tasty.

I am definitely on a small budget as well. I feed four people on approximately $50 a week. I try to do around $35. For the boys and myself (my husband is usually at school or working) we do a lot of veggie dishes, and there are a lot that are low carb. I eat a lot of tuna fish, turkey, spinach salads. I actually don't do a whole lot of red meat because it tears up my insides (sorry if that's TMI).

I am very impressed that you can keep it to $50 for 4 people I am finding that we are spending about $130-145 a week...and that is only after going to the cheapest grocery store which is about an hour south of here (so about $15-20 dollars for gas round trip).

My husband and kids will eat bone in chicken (legs, thighs etc.) I find those to be pretty cheap. I am a bit more picky and will only eat boneless breast...which I usually make a big chicken salad with to top my salads...I find it goes a long way.

Seafood here is fairly inexpensive so DH is eating a lot of fish

Emitch I spend about the same but I am lucky to live by everything, even my favorite fast food restaurant, was bad before atkins but now whooo hooo, I eat there once a week. I find the bone in much cheaper, I went shopping yesterday and took all of the advice you all of given me and drum roll, $74.00 for the week, thats it. Lots of manager specials because I was there in the early morning, I bought my veggies in the frozen food isle, bought some family packs of meat as well, those are broken up into the freezer now.

IamwhoIam, what fast food restaurant do you go to? What do you usually eat there? I go "into town" once a week to grocery shop and any other shopping I need to get done. I always stop at the Coffee Beanery to get a sugar free iced coffee, but I'd definitely love to treat myself to some fast food every now and then, and it not ruin my diet!

What grocery stores do you have there? I live near North Conway...LOTS of shopping and tons of outlets...but they only have Hannaford and Shaw's...both of which are pricey. Where I am from in MA there are a ton of Market Basket/Demoulas stores which have the best prices. So I found one in Tilton (near your family in Laconia) and that is where I go once a week. I save way more then what the gas costs. It is just a huge pain especially in the winter.

Mcdonalds, YUMMY!!! I get two dbl Cheese Burgers w/ out the bun or Ketchup and ask for only 1 peice of cheese for each dbl, and a side salad and I take out the carrots (not many at all), a diet soda or water, its about I count it as 5 carbs, 2 for the cheese, and 3 for the salad.

Yummy! Thanks for that suggestion. Do they look at you like you're crazy when asking for no bun?

No, but when I say only one peice of cheese per dbl cheese burger, they always say "one peice of cheese" it makes me laugh all the time. make sure to ask for no ketchup or youll be adding like 8 carbs, Ketchup bad .... lol
