Re-Start Not Working??
Hi, a few months ago I did Atkins Induction and lost 10 lbs in the first 2 weeks. Shortly after things came up and I was off plan.
My question is, I have been doing it again for the past 1.5 weeks, and haven't lost anything. I think I read somewhere that each re-start gets worse results. Is this true. I hate to quit out of frustration. Thanks for any insight! ![]() |

Amber,
If you lost 10 lbs before in 2 week induction period most of that was water weight. To be sucessful low carb you have to have a plan and stick with it. I was on and off several times before i finally reinducted and have lost ever since. Rebound weight loss and regain is hard no matter what eating plan you are on so dont use that as a potential excuse not to succeed. I've been their so i can relate. Plan, shop, prepare for different senerios to have available food and dont scale watch. You will lose inches even if your scale dosen't move. Fat cells shrink. You have to try and find something within you that you can feel frustration but not let it rule you and keep you from meeting your goal. I use to use same excuse. A little over 2 years ago we lost our home to hurricane charley ( we took a direct hit ) Then within last year I lost my 52 year old mother to breast cancer after a 3 year battle, had a misscarriage at 14 weeks, and if that was not bad enough i found out 2 weeks after that that my pap came back abnormal and after a series of procedures i had to have a hyserectomy for cervical cancer. Im 35 years old. I finally took a step back and instead of focusing on everything wrong in my life..I looked at the good. I deserve to be healthy and live the best life i can. In 10 weeks i have lost39 lbs. I feel better then i have in years and im looking forward. When i look in the mirror, at times i still see the very fat me, but when my clothes are falling off . People tell me they cant believe how good i look ( it still amazes me that they can see my weight loss with out me pointing it out ) I know im finally gaining ground. It feels wonderful. I know im going on and on but i cant impress on you enough. If your really READY, let nothing stop you or get in your way. What ever obstacle your encounter, look at it as a bump in the road, not as a way to stop at dead end.

youhaven't stated how many pounds you need to shed nor what eating plan you wre doing before. I hope you measured youreself on day one so you can keep seeing the inches of body fat being burned off from all your exericing. Scales only show the effect of gravity on our total body mass. They have no way of knowing if you shed a pound or tweo of body fat and added a pound or two of lean body mass in the form of fluids and muscle tissue as Atkins low carbers do. So your scales will not validate the hard work you have been doing but tthe tapemeasure will show you those inches of body fat being shed.
Happy low carbning.
