HELP! Dining out question
My dept is having a special lunch on Fri and they're bringing Chinese food in. Does anyone know of any chinese food that's "safe" during induction?

Hmmm, thats a toughie...so many sauces have sugar, plus the rice/noodles they often use as a base. I wonder about egg drop soup, and roasted duck and ribs, though..maybe kung pao chicken with no rice? It would be hard to look up carb values, as each place will have their own recipes.
If it were me, i'd pack some eggs, cheese, veggies, meats..and fill up on those beforehand, and skip the chinese stuff, its too dangerous and hard to gauge...if you really feel wrong about that, then carefully snack a tiny bit of the chinese stuff that was legal looking, maybe? |

Chinese is HARD to do on LC but someone posted recently in the main lobby about eating at a chinese buffet and I bumped the post up for you. Maybe some of the suggestions can help you out. Good luck

Most chinese food is cooked with sugar and starch. I don't think you should eat chinese food during induction. During next phases you may eat Kung pow checken, beef and broccoli, string beans, ...

I'd say bring your own lunch anyway. What if there are no good choices for you? I wouldn't blow it now if I were you, there will always be Chinese food, but your will power may not allow you to stop after one bad meal. Ask yourself if it's really worth it.
