Thirsty!

I know it is hot outside, but I am insanely thirsty almost all of the time. I just finished 14 days . . . but is everyone else extremely thirsty???

It is amazing . . . I think I could sit and just put a siphon in my mouth!! LOL!!

Otherwise, 7" off the body in two weeks and I am very happy with that (thank goodness I took my measurements because scale weight has not been that stellar).

yep thirst increases are a normal part of Atkins with the natural diuretic effect of the higher protein intake and ketosis. Keep drinking your water and your body will adjust. Becare with all your extra fluid you don't deplete your elctrolytes.

happy low carbing

When I did low carb weight loss the first time, in 2002 I was almost always thirsty. This time, I'm taking CLA and Borage Oil, and my thirst is quite a bit less.

By the way, overeating meat, can cause a buildup of something (uric acid?) that can cristalize and cause gout. Excessive thirst can be the body's way of trying to prevent crystalization. And I've heard that thirst can be an indicator of diabetes. I'm sure there are other reasons too. You might google it.
