Ratio of fat:protein:carbs on Atkins

I couldn't find anything about this on a search so was wondering if anyone could tell me percentage wise what should be the ratio between these different food groups when on induction.

Many people have good success with 60-75% of their calories from fat, 5% from carbs and the rest protein.

However, YOU will have to find what works best for you.

You'll most likely need to use www.fitday.com to calculate this.

Also.. make sure you're eating enough... a rule of thumb is 10-12 times your current body weight in calories.

I can be a heavy eater, but I don't think I can down almost 3800 calories a day.

You can check your BMR, too.

Most people can eat 250 calories above that and lose.

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

The important thing is that undereating won't work with Atkins.

Thanks. My bmr was 2140. I have been eating around that range. I posted my menu for the last two days here Can someone evaluate my menu please?, if you have the time, could you take a look at it for me? I would really appreciate it. From what I have been reading, it looks like you are the "go to" person.

I responded in that thread.

You should be able to eat up to 2290 (ok... 2300 is easier).

I would make sure you got that... and see what happens.

I am not sure I agree with the under eating thought. Though folks should not starve themselves, what is important is that you eat regular meals and that you only eat until full, never stuff yourself.

Thanks for the replies. I've checked with Fitday and I seem to be keeping to something near those figures but I'm not eating as many calories as others.

I'm not hungry but I usually only eat about 1600 to 1800. Do you think this is too little?

What's your BMR?

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

It's not enough if you're using the "rule of thumb" to eat 10-12 times your current body weight in calories.

The truth of whether or not it's enough will come out in the losing.
