Need motivation, how much have you lost on induction?

Hi guys. I originally started induction about 10 days ago. Lost 7 pounds , but fell off the wagon a few times and looks like I've gained back 2 . I am so frustrated with myself!! I need some real motivation to drop this weight. Can anyone tell me how much they've lost during induction? And, if you stay on induction longer, will you continue to lose more weight faster? Thanks!

I lost 11 pounds during my 2 week Induction, I ventured out to OWL after that time. I love all the varieties of lc foods I can eat.

i'm on day 8 and have lost 9 pounds....which i am majorly suprised at! was expecting to only lose a few pounds all up over the 2 week period. think it helped that i totally carbed out on the weekend before starting....

gotta say, i can feel a big difference in the way my work pants fit....i had to wear a belt today cause otherwise i'm flashing my knickers at the world! woooot wooooot!

i'm pretty sure that staying on induction longer will help keep it coming off faster than starting to up your carbs. when you start adding new foods you aren't exactly sure if it's going to stall your weight loss...and it's easy to start adding alot of frankenfoods.

how much do you have to lose?

i think the thing that frustrates me is that i've only taken off what i put on after doing atkins the first time. i don't know how many times i've lost and put on this 10 pounds!!!

good luck to us all

lovinlee, I have about 60 pounds to lose to get to my ultimate goal. I know if I cut the carbs, drink water like I used to, and work out a little the pounds will melt off, I just don't know what's wrong with me. I know exactly how you feel! It seems like I keep losing and gaining 10 pounds or so. I think I need to weigh myself less. It seems like if I've lost, it's like I give myself permission to let up a little, and if I'm the same or gained, I'm very hard on myself. Well, hopefully I'll get there someday! Thanks for all the replies!

hawkwife, are you planning and preparing your meals and SNACKS in advance? It is a great idea to have something on hand for when you want a nibble--celery sticks with cream cheese, a few slices of chicken, hard-boiled eggs...... When you feel an urge to go off plan, it's great to have a few good choices all ready to eat.

hawkwife, 60 pounds could go so quickly for you if you stuck to the diet, but remember its a lifestyle change, not a quick fix. Think how wonderful you will feel once you kick that weight to the curb. A couple things I do is set small goals, and then reward myself with things OTHER than food, which took me a long time to get used to. I used to say "okay Airica, lose 11 pounds in the next two weeks and were going to the Olive Garden to celebrate" but then I realized, what the heck am i doing? just making it harder on myself and giving me 3-4 more days of intense carb withdrawl. So now, i go get a manicure, or a pedicure, or a new workout outfit. And I do exactly what ernel said, I plan my menu for the week and buy my groceries accordingly. Good Luck....there is alot of support on these boards, when you feel the urge to go off plan, take a look at some before and afters.

I have 160 to lose all together, with 6 pounds already gone forever. (started Oct. 9)

Thanks so much all of you! I guess we all have good days and bad days. I do have groceries, but I never thought of making all my meals ahead of time--what a great idea! I do have plenty of hard boiled eggs, salad mix, and tuna. Maybe I will roast a chicken later, and can have that for the week. Thanks so much to all of you! I feel so much better visiting!

Hi

I am on day 6 of induction and as of this morning I have lost 8 pounds.

It is so easy to fall off the wagon and much harder to get back on. I have had a few days where I have gone over the allowed 20 carbs. I am planning on extending induction 1 more week just to make sure I have it down and can do it without eating things I am not supposed to.

Good luck!!!

I've lost up to 28 pounds on induction. It really depends on how much you have to lose overall, coupled with amount of water weight you're hanging onto.

A person can expect to lose up to 10% of overall weight on induction, although there should be variances made for exercise, metabolism, age, etc.

28 in two weeks or just staying on induction levels, cleochatra? that's an amazing loss!!

i think having little celebrations for goals is a good idea! i might splurge and get my eyebrows done this weekend if i can drop another 2 pounds by then!

Now, granted, I retain a lot of water and have a lot to lose. So don't gauge your success on those numbers (individual results may vary and if you don't have much to lose, you won't lose as much). Still, if you give it all you've got, you can expect to lose up to 10% of what you need to lose.

The first four days are sheer heck on crutches. The rest of those 2 weeks should be smooth sailing into happy waters. Just remind yourself you need to get through those first four days...

You can do it!

Thanks so much! I know I just need to buckle down and get through it. Lord knows what I've been doing is certainly not making me happy. It helps so much to have all this support, and to know there are so many other people out there that need help too.

Hi all, I started on 10/2/06 and have lost 8 lbs I was down 10 but than went out drinking last weekend, gained 4 over that weekend and didn't do anything else wrong except the drinking, but now I am down another 2. I guess I can't have beer at all!!! don't get me wrong I am not a heavy drinker but went out for the first time in a long time probably because I am feeling a little better about myself....

It sounds like you are all doing great, I just read the posts and it gives me inspiration... Thanks!!!

Hope I can help motivate! I started induction on 10-16 and have lost 5 lbs so far. I have lost 50 total but went back on induction because I had stalled. I am a slave to the scale, I weigh every day but for me its motivation to keep on track. When I see that scale go down even a few ounces, I don't want to cheat.
