Eve: Sorry about the gain, but drink lots of water and get right back to eating clean and you should see the scale start moving in the other direction again! Good Luck!

bmac: Good luck with the challenge weigh-in. I hope you see the 180's today and win the $150!

Bonny Jean - Any luck finding your butt padding? I wish I could donate some of my extra padding to you! If you would like, I'd be happy to get you a pair at Walmart here if they have them and ship them to you in Canada? I don't mind at all. Just let me know. No sense in paying a ton of $$ for something you may not even feel comfortable wearing.

So, I was feeling like my scale was extremely slow moving lately. When I had done this WOE a few years ago, my fitness trainer advised me to up my carbs/calories for a day and see if it helped to jumpstart my losses again. It did!

So, since I hoped to jumpstart my losses again, I decided to experiment and see if I could trick my body/metabolism a bit. Mix it up! I at 1 cup of brown rice and a large salad with some mixed greens, peppers, edamame, and some nuts on it and a slightly higher carb dressing. This was in addition to my usual eggs/bacon, burger daily menu and then I slightly underrate the next day. The scale finally moved more than a few oz. for me!

I use Ketostix and it's still showing I'm in Ketosis, although not as dark as it was, but the intensity doesn't matter as long as it changes color.

So, now I'm back to hard core today with my normal clean menu and calorie/carb count. I will see if my little experiment worked to get things moving a little quicker. I know it's not a race..but I would like to see at least 10 lb loss this month.

Good luck to all of you!

Have a great day!

Colleen

Well, thank ya dahlin' for the offer but I couldn't put you out like that. You're very sweet to offer though. I saw a few on EBay yesterday so might try that route. It's not a big deal really but to me, more looks better than nothing!!
Thanks again. I appreciate the thought!!

149.4 this morning. Then just 10 to goal. Finally! Sept 16 will be my year anniversary but I won't hit my goal before then. I can't believe I couldn't lose 90 pounds in a whole year whereas I thought I could knock it off in 9 or 10 months. Oh well, the important thing is staying on plan, not going off for ANY reason and it will go, albeit slower than I would have liked but it's almost all gone so there you go!!!!
Bonny-Jean I hope with all my heart, fingers and toes crossed, that you will lose the pound and be at your wedding weight again by tomorrow!!!!! Hopefully today! And only 10 lbs left to goal!!!!! I am wishing that you will be one of the lucky ones who lose the last 10 quickly!!!! With Whoosh Fairy dust sprinkled all over you!!!!

It's been a couple of days since I have checked in -- having so much fun on vacation -- and I see I will have a lot of posts to catch up on but I just wanted to say that unofficially I have lost 80lbs today! I'm at 250 on the beach scales and hopefully that will translate to at least 250 on my scales at home (though I am really hoping for the 240s!).

I hope everyone else is having a good scale day and if not just keep working the program and know that the weight WILL come off eventually--just never as quickly as we would like.

Have a good on plan day everyone!

Thanks everyone for the kind well wishes. My DH bought a pie so the kiddos could sing happy birthday and thankfully he bough lemon pie which I wouldn't have eaten even if I wasn't on this woe.

Eve- sorry you showed a gain today. Just get back on track and be strict and you will see the pounds come off.

Kimber- yeah good job on the loss!

Bonnie- you are so close to goal!! I bet you will be there before Christmas for sure.

Colleen- glad the scale started moving for you again.

The scale went down this morning by another pound. 160.2 so hoping to see the 150's I have been stuck in the 160's for a week now and going up and down.

Good Morning fellow Warriors!

My scale was unkind today - 144.0 - and I don't have any idea why, maybe just that I totally skipped the 144's, I went from the 145's to 143's and now backwards - what's with that?

Eve - Sorry that the weigh in didn't go well. Think of it as "lesson learned" and move on. You will do this!

Bonny - I'm pulling for you, I know you'll make it! Why does weight never come off as easily as it comes on?

Kim - Congratulations - 80 pounds gone forever! And being so good on vacation - you have willpower and it shows - WTG!

Everyone have a good on plan day!

Bonny-Jean, I'd rather spend $50 than do squats!!! Lol

Kimber, congrats on the 250!!!

Colleen, that is interesting about the upping the carb thing. Hopefully it works great for you!

Eve, don't worry about the beers. It happens. I miss my beer a lot, but I keep telling myself, what's a few months or even a year without beer to be happy and healthy for the rest of my life.

Kimber--congrats on 80 pounds lost!
This while on vacation! Greatness!

Colleen--interesting about the high carb meal and your quick results.
I am pretty sure I'd have a cascading appetite for carbs after one carby meal. You are doing so well!

Neener--hope all is well and your son is settled into his dorm. Glad you have your pup for company!

Skinny--(belated)--> Glad it was nice!

any techies out there no how to get rid of pop up ad called cosstminn? Ugh, it's driving me crazy. I can't find anything new in my "programs" as a download. It's attached itself to words in everyone's posts. There must be a computer genius out there somewhere?? I hope.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a great day!

bmac: How did the challenge weigh-in go today? I hope you won the $150.00!

Skinny - Happy Belated Bday! You are so young - 31..don't be dreading bdays! Think of it this way.. you're just one more year better! Glad you had a great day!

Kimber - Congrats on 80 incredible lbs gone forever! That's amazing and inspiring! You must be so proud of yourself!

As for me, feeling good today. I had a nice NSV last night at football practice. I saw two Moms from school whom I hadn't seen since May or June. The one said "You look GREAT" upon seeing me. Then a minute later, she said "You look GREAT..I know I said that already, but WOW, you really do!" She said
" You lost a lot of weight, didn't you?" You look so healthy! Then at the end of practice the other Mom came over (her son was on another team) and said "I saw you across the field and I just had to come say "Hi" and tell you that you look really great!"

No matter what the scale says...that is a reward by itself!

As for the "upping the carbs".. as I mentioned, I only added 1 cup of brown rice and a large salad with mixed greens, carbier vegetables, some sort of nuts and slightly higher carb dressing to my usual low carb menu. I forgot I also had a half a cup of chili. None of these caused me to have any carb cravings, but it did give me a boost I think. I am back to hard core today.

As I mentioned, I had done this previously when low carbing and had good success. Apparently, the theory is if you’re eating low-carb and low-calorie (which low-carb tends to promote on account of its inherent satiety) and the weight has stopped dropping, you may be low in leptin.

Leptin is a hormone that fulfills two primary roles, as far as metabolism and weight loss go – it increases (or lowers) energy expenditure, depending on perceived energy availability, and it inhibits appetite. Both actions actually happen in the brain, but it’s leptin that gives the brain the message. If perceived energy availability is “low,” energy expenditure drops and appetite increases. If perceived energy availability is “high,” energy expenditure increases and appetite drops. That’s a quick and dirty (and incomplete) overview, but hopefully you get the idea.

I took my kids school supply shopping today! WOW, those school supply lists get longer every year! We went to McDonald's for lunch. My daughter took a picture of me with the baby. Here we are!

Colleen, yes you do look great! Cute baby too!
Very interesting about the leptin, especially related to the appetite suppression of low-carb. I still wouldn't trust myself with carbs right now but I'm glad it worked for you. Thanks for sharing.

Hi everyone! Just popping in to say hi! Still visiting with my kids, and internet connection is very bad! I'll be home next week and back to regular posting.

Still holding steady at 132. Can't imagine I'll actually get into the 120s, but we will see what happens. It will also be interesting to send what happens when I go home and I'm not working out so much any more.

Bought new underwear at Victorias Secret this week..... Size small!!! Shocked that they fit very well, not at all too small. Just blows me away.

Miss you all! Back to regular posting soon!

Morning Warrior Ladies;

Colleen, I weigh in tonight at 4:45p.m., but the results will not be known until tomorrow at 6pm. I think I have a really good chance of winning. My percentage of weight lost as of today is 18% and the woman that won last time had 8%.

And today, I made it to the 180s-barely....189.9!!

Have a great day warriors!

Kimber - Congrats on 80 lbs down! That's amazing!

Bmac - Congrats on the 180's! It counts even if it's a barely!

I weighed myself this morning and I was back down to 126.5. So, I've pretty much made no actual progress this week do to my overindulgent weekend. Lesson learned! I did ago out to dinner last night to celebrate my boyfriend's father's birthday and I was able to stay on plan so that was good! At least my gain is gone! Thanks for the support yesterday, everyone!

Off to work, hope you all have a great day!

Hi everyone I am back! I can't believe my baby is now a college freshman, so proud of him. I held it together pretty well, never cried in front of him (last thing I wanted was him worried about me) but when I got home last night I just about collapsed, such an emotional time. Any whoo...trying to catch up with you busy chatty ladies!

BMAC - 180s!! Woot Woot!!

Eve - it is what it is, drink tons of water and give up the beer for while..not easy I know i love my corona light. And at least you are back to where you were.

Amy - Thank you! He is doing great and I'll get through it, it will be a huge adjustment for sure. Looking forward to visiting him at the end of September!

I CAN NOT BELIEVE I DID THIS AGAIN...I drank almost an entire bottle of REGULAR Mt Dew 73 carbs!!! It was a throw back label that I SWORE said diet on it. I grabbed it at a gas station on our way home yesterday and didn't even NOTICE when I tasted it. My friends and I were talking about low carb and one of them asked me if diet sodas have carbs. I said "the labels say no but there has to be some for example the second ingredient in Dt Mt Dew is SUGAR WHAT! NO its supposed to be orange juice concentrate" Literally so irritated with myself!! I was so careful with eating at restaurants for a few days and then to blow it like that??? UGH up 2 pounds this AM. I am trying to let it go it was a accident but boy that aggravates me!

Okay, where did I get I was only a couple of ounces away from 80 lbs lost yesterday??? Either I can't add or I had one of "those moments?"
Today that evil machine said 148.8 so when the .8 becomes a .0, I'll let you know. Premature excitement there!!

bmac: is windows xp the right answer?? And you beat me to the 80 lbs by a day or two!! Congrats you little Warrior you!!

Neener: That's surprising you couldn't tell the difference??? I can almost smell the sugar when a regular pop is opened. Let's hope that doesn't happen again. Work too hard for things like that to happen to us.

Neener, that really sucks about the Mt. Dew! I know the throwback formula is the one made with real sugar, but too bad you didn't see it before you bought it. I would have been horrified!

Had a tooth pulled yesterday, so I am trying to eat only soft foods. Had some eggs with cheese yesterday, and had some broth with chicken breast cut into really tiny diced pieces this morning. I tried to eat some bacon, but it was too hard to chew on one side of my mouth so I gave up. The teeny chicken pieces are easier to eat and pretty soft, so I may have some more chicken with melted cheese tonight. This afternoon I think I will stick to some good coffee with cream to tide me over.

The empty tooth hole is healing well! I had no pain after the pulling - I took 2 Tylenols but really didn't need them. Before he pulled the tooth, I didn't have enough numbing in my jaw and oh my god!!!!!! The pain zinged and zapped me HARD when he started drilling so he gave me another shot and it went away quick. WOW! Never want to experience THAT again!!!!!! I can't even imagine what people had to experience 100 years ago when there was NO numbing shots!!!!! CRIPES!!!!
