Is second time around harder?

I've read and been told that if you lose a lot of weight with atkins then gain it back, that the second time you go on atkins it is much harder to lose? Is there any truth to this? I was 40yrs old the first time I did atkins and lost over 100lbs, then gained back 75lbs. So now I'm going my second attempt before my 45th bday next month but I'm worried it's going to be a lot slower weight loss?

For most of us it is slower, but I think it has more to do with age, hormones, health issues, etc. when I was in my 20s I lost 100 pounds in just a few months with Atkins. At 46, it's taken me a lot longer. The good thing is, since it's taken longer, I've completely made it a lifestyle and changed my life, so I know that this time I will be keeping it off. Don't let slower losses discourage you, be patient and very consistent and it will happen.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I've always lost weight with A '72 rather rapidly because I religiously followed the plan and I've done A '72 too many times to count (lost 100s of lbs in fact). This time was way faster, the big difference is TOM (sorry if I offend anyone ) -- use to stop me dead in my tracks for like 10 days every month. I understand that men tend to lose weight faster doing this LC WOE because they don't have the hormonal issues we women have.

Wishing all of us continued success on our personal LC WOE journeys!!

I've lost 1/2 myself (125 lbs) in 41 weeks!!
