Well, it has been a tough week mentally...Monday, found out a HS friend died...Tues found out the an old co worker died and my Uncle is fighting for his life..cancer.
Anyway, I had bought cottage cheese, not thinking it was not induction...well, that is gone...via mouth...love that stuff...like ice cream to me.
Fresh start today...OP all the way

B-egg salad (3 eggs)
S- 1 oz monteray jack cheese
L-Tuna salad
S-pork skins
D- going to make a salad with chicken, feta, olives, celery and dressing (DH and son are having chicken quesadilla (my fav)

It has been hard, the strawberries and apples in the fridge are screaming at me!!

ejw, I'm sorry you've had such a tough week! It's those times that remind us though how important it is to take control of our health while we still can. Good for you for making a fresh start today!

Way to go Weezer! Keep up the great work!!! For pulled pork, I just buy a pork roast when they're on sale and throw it in the crockpot all day while I'm at work. Then when I get home, I can shred it up and for my BF I mix in some Guy's Sugar Free BBQ Sauce. I just stick it in the refrig, and he can use it for lunches all week.

Scales broke

Stepped on the scale after my morning shower to a surprising 250! Imagine my losses if I wasn't eating pistachios or sunflower seeds!
Didn't have my ritual BPC this morning & was ready to chew my arm off by 11:30 always nice to confirm whether certain foods etc are working or not
Wow, more folks jumping aboard:
I'm sure no introductions are required & the resident experts have become apparent?
Oh, congratulations to all the losers <-that does funny doesn't it? Meant in a good way
Mosquitoes are out in force; not looking forward to hitting the trails this weekend. I suppose they could be worse, eh Bonny-Jean?
Have a good evening folks. Btw, spent a few hours with the old food porn threads; what a ton of good recipes & ideas.

PaleoGuy, you are braver than I am, I avoid the food porn for fear it will send me on a cooking / eating binge! Sounds like you're doing great though, so it's obviously working for you!

Hey there to all of my '72 friends. Hope all is well with you. I had two great days, a not so great day yesterday, and another great day today. I consider it a success that I didn't let yesterday spoil today. My stomach hurt so bad yesterday from the carbs and I didn't sleep well because of the stomach ache. Hopefully I will sleep like a baby tonight. I am also going to stay off of the scales until I leave for my Florida trip in one month.

Someone asked me about my "magic pills." I take L-Glutimate at night, a combination ammino acid capsule, and chromium picolinate. I don't know what the brand is because I get them from a pharmacy and they package them in their prescription bottles.

Bonny - you're looking great, congrats on 165! Have fun with your company.

Congratulations to everyone losing! I have been reading every day, not posting much, but I can report that I lost the 3 lbs. I had gained plus 1, so 4 lbs. since Sunday - not too shabby. I had been trying to have a few veggies and low carb breads, but I've sworn off for awhile. I've only been eating meat, no eggs, no cheese. I'm staying with this until Sunday, then I may have an egg for breakfast. I'll gradually add the eggs and cheese then I'll start with the veggies - lettuce, radishes and cukes is probably all I eat for awhile.

It was awhile ago that I posted the gain but I only started being serious last Sunday. Between the time I gained and Sunday I was just up and down, up, up, down! You get the picture. Still hanging in here though!

Glad to see so many new folks joining us, welcome aboard!

Well, I am hanging in there. Still no movement on the scale. I'm trying to eliminate cheese, in case that's a problem. Had some today, because I had to eat all my meals away from the house, and I was limited on what I could bring with me. But I have a lovely 4 day weekend ahead of me, so that shouldnt be a problem. One more week of school, and then I'm off for the summer. Made a decision not to try to find a part-time job this summer because of the stressful year I had, so it will really be rejuvenating.
Thanks to all of you for your posting, and just for being there. It really helps when I"m feeling blue about the slow weight loss.

Good Friday Morning Everybody!!

HUGE to all those that had losses today! For those that didn't, remember the scales are EVIL!!

Bonny -- Huge on your 165!!

Love your new pic, you look fabulous, darlin'!! Have a blast with your cousin and let us know if you found a LC Pina Colada recipe...

ejw55 -- I'm sorry about your friend, uncle and co-worker...

Sounds like you are on track with your eating plan...I'd be careful with the feta cheese actually any soft creamy type cheeses because they aren't on the Induction List of cheeses. Here's what the book says:

Cheese: Four ounces a day of any hard aged cheese. No cream cheese or cheese spreads.

MtherGoos -- you are so close to your personal goal weight (HUGE btw) -- have you thought about how you are going to handle maintenance and would you share that? Cause that's where I am now. Today is 9 days with no losses and I'm at 1200-1400 kcals and 10-12 carbs a day... I'm hoping I've found my "sweet spot!"

CP Guy -- Yeah what MG said about the food porn thread. That thread makes me crave my old killer carbs so I avoid it. I don't like thinking about food until I get ready to eat and I seriously don't think about carby food for sure!!

cfine -- Welcome back, c!! Good to hear you climbed back onto the LC WOE wagon... stuff happens but you're back and that's important!!!

tweaker -- HUGE on your 4 pound loss!! I could never do low carb bread, it would make me crave the real thing... I'm so weak when it comes to carby-food that I can't have the triggers... Glad you are back on your LC WOE!!

betterthanever -- I don't do cheese. First I thought it was a problem with eating cheese and my ability to process it. Then it finally dawned on me that the cheese was fine, it was my portion control issues!! I'd over do the cheese. So it was easier for me to say no more cheese then to be limited to 3-4 oz a day...

Today is my last day of school. It's been a stressful school year, because of the non-teaching crap (new teacher evals, more state mandated testing and monthly stupid non-productive professional training days etc) If they'd just leave us alone and let us teach the kiddos... what a concept, huh? **heavy sigh** Our State Sec of Ed had never been in the classroom. So she has no idea what so ever!! Well I don't have to think about school again til August!!

You all have a wonderful day and keep being LOSERS!!

Jo =]

Wishing all of us continued success on our personal LC WOE journeys!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've lost 1/2 myself (125 lbs) in 41 weeks!!
Congrats to Bonny Jean hitting 165 - you look great, hon. 165 is my next goal, too. Been stuck at 170 since I lost my initial 5 lbs water weight two weeks ago.
And congrats to everyone else on their losses.
Summer is almost here - in Texas we have another two weeks before vacay. We just got our state test scores back yesterday.......sigh..........I teach special ed in an inner city charter school, so we have to celebrate even the small victories in percent passing increases.
Last night I ate two smarties (out of the little package of about 14). Is that cheating? Also, I want to have a discussion aboutn artificial sweeteners - where would be the best place to post this?
Ah, thank you so much for all the compliments. You are very, very kind people.
Congrats to all with losses and big hugs and support to anyone stuck or otherwise. Happy for all those with NSV as well!!
Jo: congrats on your "maintenance" and big hugs for all your continued support to everyone else. Thank you for that.
Esquala: Yes, two smarties are a "cheat" albeit infinitesimal!!
Any questions you have, just ask away my girl. There's lot of very experienced, helpful and informative people here!
CdnPaleoGuy: Yes, those blood suckers are so big here we have to leash them!!
Have a great day y'all. Wishing everyone a happy scale day, much warmth and sunshine (well, not too much warmth)
Love the picture Bonny! You are rocking your new look!
Jo, my plan is to just slowly add a few things back in one at a time ( almond milk, mushrooms, garlic, onions, etc ) and see how much I can tolerate without gaining. I'm very nervous about it!
Equala, Dr A said that even one bite can slow your losses or throw you off track, so yes that would be a little cheat, but don't let it derail you, just keep going.
LOL Bonny! I'm afraid to eat anything different yet! Maybe I'll give myself 5 more pounds so I have some leeway before I add in my mushrooms. Maybe I'll do some almond milk though. I know I need the calcium.
I just made the best chicken salad
I thawed out some chicken tenders and marinated them in Texas Pete over night....I rinsed them and sauté them in butter...drained the butter and added more texas pete....while still warm, I chopped the chicken and added celery, onion and mayo...salt and pepper...YUMMOOOO
I would give it a 5 star
Gigantic Congratulations to you MG, you did it!! We all knew you would, you are one determined lady that's for sure! You're always such an inspiration and helpful to everyone, I, personally, am sooooooo glad that you are on this board.
I looked for the Silk almond coconut milk a couple of days ago at Walmart, but no luck. I guess I'll just check some of the regular grocery stores. It will probably cost more but I would like to try it.
I have a gripe today -- I was looking through a little booklet that I got in the mail, kind of an eat this, not that type of thing. Most of what they said to eat, we wouldn't eat anyway, but what really gets me is they list only calories, fat, sodium, fiber and sugar - not a single mention of a carb anywhere -- why? What the heck are they afraid of by giving us all the nutritional information?
I could go on, but I'll just leave it at that.
