Oopsies uses

Bonny-Jean,
TMI :P
Anyhow, yes, the oopsies are a great sub for hamburger buns. If you check out the oopsie roll thread, several of the folks suggest putting the smooth side out & the not so smooth side towards the meat.
As for the weekend, yard work & relaxing. Never did get out geocaching :/
Slimwithin26: chicken thighs will give you more good fat. Same as ribeye.

What?? A Texan with no mention of steaks or bbq!!!

My favourite cuts of beef are prime rib roasts or steaks, rib-eye, T-bone and of course, filet mignon!
Pork... shoulder butt, baby back ribs (OMG), bacon, on occasion fine ground, ham kolbasa
When not bbq'ing, most things are pan fried with coconut oil.
Drink coffee with Silk Coconut milk and caffeine free diet coke.
That's it for me and if you're following Atkins '72 Induction that IS about it!
Good luck hon!!

Just a mini ha-ha, y'all!!!

Well, thanks for the info on the oopsies. Have been avoiding them but if I can have something practical to hold a hamburger then that would be nice to get some burgers going on the grill. Tks for the tip!

Bonnie, yes I do eat steak but not as often as I use to. I keep hearing mixed things about steak such as takes along time to break down in system, causes you to retain water, etc so I wasnt sure about so, just stopped eating it as much.

Do have a question about oopsie rolls, are they Atkins 72 friendly? Cause if so, I think that may give me my 2nd wind...as I can see a bacon double cheeseburger in my future. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks.

Oopsies & version 72

slimwithin26:
Atkins has them in the menu plan towards the end of the book. His recipe calls for cottage cheese. Some folks here were using mayonnaise instead.
Go check the Oopsie thread for ideas

I only eat beef a couple times a week and I've never had a problem but again I try to keep it under 8 oz. As far as I know many people on Atkins '72 are eating oopsie rolls but now I'm trying to remember what they replace the cottage cheese (no-no) with.... hmm, I think mayo, maybe?? Just check around, the recipe has been posted numerous times. That's how I'm gonna find it when I decide to make them. LOL.

Hi cfine.. glad you're posting again.
I just found out that my Skinny Girl Stevia IS erithyitol but I really didn't like the taste in my coffee. I found it a little bitter and when I tried using less, then it just tasted like coffee.

SlimWithin - a couple other things I eat are tuna salad and canned salmon (salmon patties, yum!). I roast a whole chicken or turkey and have for salads, lettuce wraps and just snacking on with mayo and hot sauce.

Hey Bonny, if you add a little liquid stevia to the erithyitol it tastes much better.

Ejw55, I'm so glad you switched from WW. I was starving all of the time on WW and my brain was never satisfied. I guess it's a good plan for some though. Glad you're here now.

I found a recipe for LC, GF biscuits a couple of days ago and wanted to try them out for my hubby. He just got diagnosed with celiac. I tried just a bite to see if I thought he would like them and they tasted just like regular biscuits. I think he will be pleased. Now I need to hide them from myself

I got back on my supplements that cut my cravings for food and have made it two days back on plan! Those pills are like magic. Note to self: don't run out of magic pills!

Hope everyone had had a great day!

Hi everyone, sorry, I was away from the computer most of the last 2 days. Ejw, thank you for the kind words! Great to have you join us.

When I make the oopsie rolls for my BF, I use cream cheese.

Slim, I eat steak almost every night without any problem. Usually ribeye because it's the fattiest. I love my rib eyes! Lol.

Hope everyone is having a great night! Definitely will post more tomorrow!

Oh, Jo , congratulations on your long term success!!!

Thanks. Turns out my "SkinnyGirl Stevia" is erythritol but I don't like the taste too much so I guess I'll stick with my Splenda and just watch how much I use.

Good Tuesday Morning Everybody!!

HUGE to all those that had losses today! For those that didn't, remember the scales are EVIL!!

to ejw55, seabreezes, Partyof7 and Galveston Gal!!!

esquala -- You know the scales are EVIL... and I LOVE your awesomely positive attitude because it will get you through the rough patches. Since you're committed to this WOE the weight will come off, maybe not on your schedule, but it does.

You don't have to start adding carbs back unless you want to. I started out at 6 daily carbs bwtn 5 July and 1 Jan, now I'm up to 10-12 daily. I'm still on Induction Week 1 and I know MtherGoos is too. Lots of us stay ultra low carb until all the weight comes off, cause it comes off more quickly the fewer carbs you have. And in my case, I don't think I'll ever be able to have more than 20 tops (haven't gone that far up yet) and maintain the weight loss because I am that carb-sensitive.

Bathroom duty, oh fun!! I teach in a school of less than 200 middle schoolers on a military installation -- it's amazing!! This is our last week of school, mix emotions, I love being here with the kiddos, but I need a break I am emotionally exhausted!

Bonny -- I can't find anything "coconut" here, the blend or just the milk. But then, I live in a tiny town and our county only has 40 thousand people. Heck the entire state of NM only has 2.2 million people!!!

I'm so glad you're a happy camper!!!

Hey girlie, IMHO, AVOID all the sugars ending in "ol" or "itol" -- because those are sugar alcohols and for some of us -- ME ME ME -- they metabolize as carbs and a carb is a carb is a carb...

Pauletticus -- Erithritol, it's in Truvia right? Good to know that the sugar alcohols doesn't affect you, some people can't tolerate them. You know it's got carbs right? At least from all the research I've done: 1 tsp = approx. 4 carb grams

newslimsexy -- I feel your pain about the scales, maybe weigh once a week? or several times a month? It would be a shame that you'd stop because of the scales. According to your stats, you've lost 24 lbs since April -- that's AWESOME!!! In any case, if you're following the plan and eating clean (no cheats) you will see results, if not on the scales, then in your clothes!

slimWithin26 -- I got nothing since I'm basically eating Induction and I'm not bored with what I'm eating... But here's what I rotate around all week long: chicken breast, broiled fish, tuna and Oscar Mayer Deli-Fresh Smoked Ham. I'll buy a big turkey and freeze cooked portions of that and if I'm in a huge hurry, I'll eat canned chunky chicken on my salad. I have 6 oz of salad a day.

MtherGoos -- thanks for the kind words!! Funny how I didn't count the first 15 lbs cause I was still playing that stoopid yo-yo game with myself... I felt I really didn't start until my heart and soul was in the game on 5 July... but it's still 15 lbs eh??

But I got the easy part accomplished, now the hardest part, at least for me, is becoming an LC WOE Lifer by maintaining the weight loss.

Partyof 7 -- Thanks! I love coming here too and reading everyone's journeys... it keeps me motivated to do what needs to be done especially since we are struggling with some of the same issues.

You all have a wonderful day and keep being LOSERS!!

Jo =]

Wishing all of us continued success on our personal LC WOE journeys!!

Hi,

I am new to Atkins 72 and have a question about omelets...All the induction instructions say no limit, but I know I cant eat everything the first week, so what can I have in a omelete? or does veggies in a omelete not count?

Hi Girley! Everything counts! For the first week, you want to stick to meat, eggs, cheese and fats. You can also have up to 2 cups of loosely packed lettuce each day if you want it. In your omelette you can put cheese, bacon, sausage , chicken, or things like that.

Ohhh - I think I had a breakthrough today! I got 2/3's of the way through my breakfast (scrambled eggs and 1 oz cheese, and coffee with 1 oz sugar free coffeemate and 2 oz hwc), and I Could. Not. Eat. Another. Bite.

And, it's 3 1/2 hours later, and I still have that feeling - No. Food.

So, maybe I'll actually start losing after the initial 5 lb water weight loss last Monday.

You know, I think about how Dr. A says how to tell if you are ready to move to the next level, and one of the questions is, "are you losing nicely?"..........but if it's only been a week of induction - how could you possibly know?

P.S. I've rediscovered chicken livers. Mmmmmm.

Thanks Just Jo for your words of wisdom I am going to try my best to end my rocky relationship with the scale. Congrats Bonnie on your 1 lb off because every little bit counts. I also have a question about days that I feel super hungry and what could be causing that because I'm not cheating but I just wanted to get anyone's thoughts on that.

Hi everyone! Wow what a supportive and successful group! Very inspiring. I am on Day 2 of Atkins '72 induction. All is well. Mostly eggs and meat. Keeping it simple seems to help me stay the course.

I swear I'm allergic to carbs. They dont' give me a rash but they sure make me crazy.

I hope I can join you! I look forward to getting to know you better.

Todays menu:
B: Eggs in butter, bacon
L: Meatloaf (ground beef, egg, pork rinds, spices) with mustard
D: Same as L
