The cauliflower rice sounds good and it might come in very handy. I'm thinking chicken curry and chicken rice soup.

But I'm with you - I'll just skip most of the complicated cooking, pseudo muffins and pseudo bready things etc. for now, and just enjoy my steaks and simple grilled meats. Maybe I'll try some things later, after I'm more sure of myself.

We are all alone in here...but have you seen the numbers of people reading these posts? I think people are watching. They are out there...lurking..

It feels so good to write some things down during this process, whether or not a lot of people are receiving. I guess I'm used to talking to myself! ha ha

Very happy day, but rethinking how I've been doing stuff. I started really counting again today, as opposed to just underestimating portions. I've also been OD'ing on sucralose and need to scale back my carbs already. I hit 20 way too easily.

B- 1 c coffee w/ 1 T HWC & 2 Splenda packets, 1 mozzarella cheese string stick
L- chicken salad: 4 oz chicken breast, 1/4 c red onion, 2 c lettuce, 1/2 c cucumber, 1/2 tomato, 6 black olives, 1/2 avocado, 2 T Brianna's French Vinaigrette (with a splash of lime juice & 1 drop liquid sucralose)
D- 1 c cauliflower made into "rice", 1/2 c sautéed mushrooms, 4 oz Asian beef strips (2 cloves of garlic, 1/2 T fresh grated ginger, 2 T soy sauce, 2 drops sucralose, 1 T HWC, dash of hot sauce), 2 T sesame oil and loads of butter (like 4 T)
S- 2 T sunflower seeds
S- 1 c pork rinds

Lurkers, come out of the woodwork! Take me down a peg for scoffing at almond flour cuisine!!

We can do it Poppies! I'm going to make myself go on a 15 net carb max/day week-long challenge starting tomorrow.

It's ok, you made up for it the next two days! You still rock! I am admiring your progress very much!!

So, you were trying to go very low for the weekend... I'm starting to wonder if my favorite pet theory isn't true; stressing ourselves via deprivation = cheat. Maybe it's not just a justification

Like, I'm starting to think that even planning to deprive ourselves starts to stress us. Dr Atkins always said the plan should feel luxurious and sumptuous.

How do you feel after 2 days of under 15? Is your energy level high?

You're totally right. When I have even one serious thought about cheating I should get especially decadent legal foods that I rarely have -- like seafood or naked buffalo wings. Or even nuts and cheese.

I am very proud of today. I went out with my husband to dinner, ate clean (and deliciously) and didn't even entertain the idea of cheating.

B- 1 c black coffee w/ 1 Splenda
L- chicken salad (1 c lettuce, 1/2 tomato, 1/2 avocado, 1 hardboiled egg, 2 T ranch dressing, oil and vinegar. I'm kind of a vinegar fiend)
D- OMG the best burger of my life (bunless of course)?! It was served with WARM guacamole, melted Jack cheese and a few Jalapeño slices. MUST replicate at home! and a Coke Zero
S- green tea w/ 1 Splenda

Good day carb-wise...13.5 net?

TOM fast approaching...I am feeling more bloated/heavy, have to constantly remind myself that it isn't LC suddenly being ineffective....sounds stupid but this tripped me up last month! I felt bad about being fat even while LC'ing like crazy so I went on a 1-week carb binge

Phoebe, you are doing great and are inspiring! If the clothes are fitting looser, you are feeling good, and you are not tempted to cheat, then it's working! Hang in there thru TOM. My mom used to say we had cravings and binged at TOM because our bodies needed more minerals. I don't know where she heard that...I'm not sure if there is any truth in it either. I should have paid more attention to my mom.

That makes sense to me. Actually the thing we're doing of listing the most luxurious foods we can possibly eat on '72 will be REALLY helpful for this weekend...like I read on another thread, focus on what you can have, not on what you can't. Another tactic for this weekend will be not only to eat yummy legal good but to eat really frequently, which I don't usually do.

I'm so happy to feel like I have self-control around food for the first time in years, but it still isn't an unconscious effort.

Yes, so much more control! Yes still an effort! Focusing on what we can have is way more positive - definitely better than bemoaning what we can't have. Good advice.

B- 1/2 c coffee w/ 1 T HWC & 1 Splenda
L- Had a ton of naked buffalo wings (just the sauce) with a T or so of ranch dressing. 1 c sliced cucumber w/ sugarfree vinaigrette (added 1 drop liquid sucralose)
D- still undecided. Maybe burger w/ 1/2 diced tomato and mozzarella. Not all that hungry but can't stand skipping dinner...

*Really* need to go to supermarket to replenish LC supplies...

Like 11.5 net carbs today or less? I should add that I'm of course drinking water like a maniac...

Today I dealt with cheating urges by upping intake of legal food. Being kind of naught by 1972 standards.

B- 15 pistachios
L- Roasted chicken, skin-on and green salad (1/2 c cucumber, 1 c lettuce, 1/4 tomato, 1/4 c red onion, 1 small celery rib, 1/2 c raw mushrooms, 1/3 avocado, 2 T SF French Vinaigrette)
D- Sopa azteca (equivalent to 1 fresh tomato, 1/2 c onion, 1/4 c bell pepper, 1 garlic clove) with shredded chicken leftover from lunch, 2 T sour cream and 1/2 avocado
S- 2 cups of SF strawberry Jello (used juice of half a lemon and 2 drops of liquid sucralose to freshen up flavor while I was making it)
S- 1 black tea w/ 1 T HWC & 1 Splenda

Ugh, seem to be in ~25 net carb neighborhood, which I never do. Hopefully tomorrow will be less munchy.

So freakin' tired today. Did a ton of housework, then errands.

B- 1 coffee w/ 1 T HWC & 1 Splenda
L- filet mignon wrapped in bacon with butter on top, 1/2 c broccoli in garlic butter sauce, 1 Coke Zero
D- 2 c sopa azteca (equivalent 1 tomato, 1/4 c onion, 1/4 c bell pepper, 1 garlic clove) with shredded chicken, 1/3 avocado, 1 T sour cream
S- dessert: 1 T SF Jello pudding (cheesecake flavor) mixed with 1/4 c HWC and 1 oz cream cheese (8 net carbs, so much)

24 net carbs? Better than falling off the wagon like I did last Sunday, at any rate. Hope I can keep it under 15 during the week ahead.

TOM here, so bloated it's disconcerting, disheartening, every other "dis" word you can think of.

B- 1 coffee w/ 1 T HWC & 1 Splenda, 24 pistachio nuts
L- salmon salad: 2 c romaine lettuce, 1 T capers, 1/2 avocado, 2 T oil-vinegar dressing
D- 1/2 chicken breast in mushroom sauce (1/2 c sautéed mushrooms, 1/4 c HWC, 1 garlic clove, 1 T cream cheese, 2 T parmesan cheese) over 1 c cauliflower, which I riced
S- 24 pistachios, 1 green tea w/ 1 Splenda

Like 21 net carbs. Sigh.

Tested ketostix (hardly ever do, but wth, right?). Turned satisfying dark shade of magenta purple.
