They were just sitting there up on a regular shelf in the health food store or in a refrigerated area? I have no idea where to look for them.

Off to bed now. See ya tomorrow, ladies. Sleep tight!

Hi Everybody!
Penny and Jaded.
Wow -so much activity since I last posted.
Glad that everyone is so motivated and the losses are coming thick and fast. May it continue.
My sore throat has gotten worse with a rough cough added to the mix. I may visit my doc tomorrow for some meds before I go in to the office.
I think the meds I am taking now have affected the numbers on the scale as I saw that they moved up but I am not too worried. It will get back down again. It may be the sugar in the warm drink.
Donna- I hear your pride- my LG went to school for her first day at formal school yesterday. I cried when I left her in her class. she just said, "you can go now mummy."
Glad the new place is treating you well.
cheryl- holding your hand (metaphorically speaking) as we get through these early days. It will work - we need to give it time and patience. Let's not rush into making decisions this year. We are going nowhere any time soon so let's enjoy the plan and see where we get.
Tussah- that chili sounds so yum. May just go out and get the ingredients to make some later today.

Have a great day everybody!

Debating what to fix tonight with my leftover pork loin roast. It was really tasty, and I'm looking forward to seeing it again tonight. Any ideas?

PenPen great news on the 2lbs loss

There's so much activity going on in this thread, and so many losses to celebrate, I invited the band to keep us all going strong.

Cheryl hang in there, you're doing fantastic, even if you don't see another loss for the next day or two you're way ahead of the game!

Lola hope your throat gets better and it's nothing serious.

Donna Here's a happy birthday shout out to your son I can't remember the last time I sat down and enjoyed a cupcake. It's been way to long. Maybe it will be my treat to myself once I reach my goal.

Let's all look forward to having a fantastic day!

Cheryl : yes they were on the shelf where the coconut oil was. I was reading on another thread that you should start slowly....opps I started with about 2 TBS. Guess I better be careful because I don't need any stomach issues.
Lola: hope you are feeling better. EVERYONE around here is sick!!!
sldeal : LOVE the band!! Hope I can keep them playing!
No losses today but that is ok. My body usually takes a week or so to catch up to what I am doing.
So far today:
B: 2 hard boiled eggs / protein shake
L: salad with chicken and 2 eggs
D: maybe hamburgers
S: cheese stick
Taking my son to see the Army recruiter today.... he needs to do something with his life and he is not motivated to go to school..... it scares me to death going into the military. I work for the VA Medical Hospital locally and I see so many young men with life long injuries. I don't want that to be my son. But on the other side he needs that type of structure in his life.

Hi Everybody

Late night here- still got a cough and sore throat. But I am hopping that I am getting better.
foodwise I did not make good choices today. Silly mistake thinking I really wanted soemthing and it ended up tasting yuck.

SLdeal - thanks- working on it.
Penpen- so hard to watch them grow up. Is it something he is keen on?
I agree that you should start small and definitely not have any if you are going to barn duty.
Got to get some exercise everyday.

It is so hot out here!
Have a lovely evening everybody!

jaded I wish I could help you with your cooking dilemma, but I hate cooking. I'm a leftover maniac, even when I don't like it, if it's left over I'll devour it! Hummm, and I'm wondering why I'm so overweight.

I had a hard time waiting for my Fast5 window to eat this afternoon. Don't know why, but I just felt like I had to eat something, although I wasn't hungry. Thank God I didn't cave in. 10 days on LC & 6 days on Fast5 (16 days total), I hope I can make it through the month, if I didn't hate looking at myself in the mirror, I would probably give up. Guess I'm feeling kinda gloomy. Maybe I need to play more music?

Lola try to take care of yourself.

I hear what you're saying about the military for your son, but have you ever considered the Coast Guard? At least it would be almost a sure thing that he'd be stateside, even if he was in Alaska or Hawaii. I'd seriously look into it. He could be one of those rescue divers that jump from helicopters!

Lola, I'm sorry you're feeling crappy. Sorry you cried in the classroom but it was so cute what your LG said to you. Must have broken your heart. But it's great that she's into the whole idea and not clinging to you and afraid to go, right? It shows that she's a healthy, balanced little girl. Good job!

It's late here but I wanted to post before I went to bed. Still waiting on that yummy recipe someone said they would post! (or rather that we are hoping you will!) I believe it was the chili but my memory is already growing dim.

I did my two juices today but I just feel draggy so I decided to do a "refeed" tonight and ate a pizza. Lose 10 lbs in a week=treat yourself. I didn't do it for that reason, but it was another reason that tipped the scales toward ordering one for delivery. It was divine, too.

Hugs to everyone! Love and blessings to all tonight.

Hi Everybody

Cool day here but we are expecting a huge storm later. Head feels a bit woolly. Alone at the office so plan to go easy. if I am stilll feeling awful I will maybe go home later.

chat later- feeling a bit flat.
at least wieght this morning was back down to 66.1kg so it was definitely the hot toddy that I had that spiked the scale. Must be all that sugar.

Good morning everybody,

Had a pleasant evening, but had to fight lots of traffic getting home. Stopped at Wendy's got a double baconator (bunless), quite satisfying. I had made some homemade ice cream, the other day, I was suppose to eat but my belly was too full.

Cheryl - your pizza sounds yummy, sometimes it's okay to treat yourself.

Lola - hope you get better soon.

Take care everybody.

Lola, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well right now. Please try and get some rest and do something that makes you feel comforted.

A bunless double baconator sounds yummy! So they serve it plain and wrapped in a simple paper wrapper? I wish they wouldn't charge full price for something that is less than what the full priced item includes. It should be discounted at least a little, don't you think?

The pizza was great and I don't feel as depleted as I was feeling before the pizza so it was a good decision. Today I'm doing a cleanse of a different kind. I took a dose of milk of mag around 5 am; I was awake all night long so I decided to go ahead and take it early to give it time to work and be out of my gut by bedtime tonight. I'm hoping for good results, but I probably won't tell you about that stuff. But I think I never did have an "urgent" bowel movement the entire week I was juicing. I was shocked about that.

Going to be rainy and sleety in some areas of CT today. My town is right on the cut-off line of those types of systems and we generally get the colder precips. Since I will be hanging home, close to the bathroom, I'm not too worried about the weather. I do need to get right back to the store I bought my new windshield wipers from when the weather clears because I bought the wrong size and the driver's side one is shredded. Can't drive around like that in wet weather.

Have a lovely day, ladies. Onward and downward!

Cheryl no they won't sell it without the bun over here, I have to take it off! I use to hate wasting that "pretty" piece of bread but now it's become second nature. I figured it's not worth the pounds...

We're getting a chill over here also, well it's not as chilly as CT but low 70's sometimes have us pulling out our boots I hope the milk of mag don't have you running all day, but you never know, you might see another lb loss once it's all over.

Evening ladies
Wow am I glad it is Friday!! I hear everyone talking about the cold or cooler weather and I wish it was cooler down here. The last few winters we have had very little by way of cold weather. It is nice to be able to wear the warmer clothes once in a while.
This morning I was down to 147 so one more lb down. I bought the chicken salad already made at Costco. Do you think it is bad?? It has mayo, onion, celery and chicken but when you read the ingredients it always mentions sugar somewhere. I ate a little of it and have been afraid to touch it so I am trying to make my kids eat it!
today I had
B: two eggs and protein shake with chia seeds
L: chopped chicken breast/ two eggs
S; cheese stick
D: salad with chicken, cheese, sour cream and black beans( just one scoop)
S: two slices of apple
I know I really shouldn't eat the apple but I was wanting something....and I figured it was a healthy cheat.
Now the true test...it's the weekend. My BF always wants to go out for lunch and dinner on the weekends. It is so hard trying to figure out what to eat because even though you might think you are doing good you don't know for sure how they fixed it. I know you can ask them to do this or that but still....I would rather fix it myself and know what I am eating.

Oh Cheryl
Yes I would love to see him go into the Coast Guard. He would be an awesome rescue swimmer because he has always been a very strong swimmer. His ASVAB score it not the best and that could limit him. We are going to work on studying and trying to bring it up. He actually got his certification as a lifeguard last summer and loved it!

Why on earth won't they sell it without the bun? I've always avoided drive-thru's when doing LC cause it's just too risky with an impulsive person like me.

The MOM did absolutely nothing, so I really needed it! Hoping it waits until tomorrow morning to let loose. I have the farm in the afternoon.

Night! Too funny about putting on boots when it's 70 but I know what you mean. You get acclimatized to where you live and you get new norms.

The sugar was probably in the salad dressing. Even most bacon's have sugar in their ingredient lists. I wouldn't sweat things like that. The going out to eat thing would make me very nervous, too. Steak houses and sea food places are pretty safe. Forget Mexican () or Chinese unless you can order crispy duck. But they put sugary glazes on everything.

Italian is tough, too. Chicken Marsala is pretty safe, isn't it? I used to love going into Chili's Restaurant and ordering their Mushroom Jack Fajitas. I'd just skip the tortillas and eat everything else. YUM.

I had this thread open for so long that my post was being written after your two posts, but I hadn't seen them. So here's my reply!

I was in the Air National Guard but when I was a teen, I took the ASVAB a couple of times. Once for the Army, once for the Air Force (I think.) It will pay off with big dividends if you can find ways online to bump up his test score. There must be tons of sights that come up when you google that. Check it out!

Catch you all on the flip side.

You are right on both counts Cheryl. He will definitely benefit from a higher score and there are sites for him to study on. The recruiter actually gave us a few sites. He offered to come to the house when Brandon thought he was ready to take a mock test first. What did you do in the service? I currently work for a VAHospital and love taking care of our veterans. It is amazing to me when I hear stories from these guys about things I learned in history books in school!!
So had a good food day I think.....managed to eat at home all day! BF went to Five Guys by himself.
B: chicken salad with hot sauce
L: two egg/sausage muffins I made
S: cheese stick
D: half pork chop, salad with blue cheese and cauliflower bake
I made a cheesecake dessert for tomorrow.
Down to 146 this morning

Well, nothing glamorous I'm afraid. I scored great on the ASVAB and when the Air Force was really pushing me to sign up, they said they wanted to send me to San Diego for Intelligence. That was if I would go Active Duty. I just couldn't commit so settled for the Guard.

I chose something that would be a short period and that was in Denver (I loved Colorado and a chance to spend 7 weeks there in the late summer/fall was too tempting to pass up.) So I chose to go into what they called Services Specialist which is a fancy name for the people who do the cooking, laundry and all that stuff when the troops are deployed. But the funny thing is that we had Civilian cooks on our Base and so we rarely ever got to do our job.

We'd go one weekend a month and basically use the gym, do whatever was needing to be done in our department, and things of that nature. And when we did manage to get into the kitchen, we were opening a lot of cans vs actually cooking. Too funny.

Twice they went to Turkey to do the two full weeks of Active Duty per year but each time I couldn't go because I was in College taking the prereqs for nursing and then the nursing courses. I did my active duty stateside, in exciting places like Gulf Port Mississippi.

I used up every penny of the GI Bill by the time I graduated nursing school and then I was granted an early Honorable Discharge when I was about to move out of state. It was insane. I wrote a letter to the Commander and just like that, they let me out. That would never happen today. I believe God was in it.

I wish I could say I had been a Jet Mechanic! The man I was with was encouraging me to go for the sign-on bonus for the field I chose, and then there was also Denver. We had an amazing time there. I still have pics and video that are some of my best travel memories ever.

Well no matter what you were doing you were still there to serve our country. I never even considered it when I was younger but I wish I had. I just never thought about joining.
Lola we haven't heard from you lately, hope you are feeling OK. My son is feeling better but I think we were lucky, everyone has been sick for weeks at a time.
I was down .2 lbs this morning. Minimal but I will take it. I have been on induction now for one full week. I made the sausage egg and cheese muffins yesterday. Hoping to have them for breakfast a few times this week if my kids don't eat them first!!
Menu today
B: sausage muffin/protein shake
L: Cobb salad 1/2 of one anyway
D: tacos with lettuce instead of shells
S: chocolate cheesecake dessert
I did eat a few strawberries today, hope that won't stale me.
Back to straight induction food during the week. Good luck everyone!

Hi Everybody

Glad to see you all were on plan this weekend.
my sore throat cleared up and hubby and I are back in love. We were in the middle of a tiff and it really was making me feel bad.
Pen - thanks for posting your menu- I think I will make that sausage/egg muffin. Have not made that in a while and I just bought some eggs.

I should explain that over the weekend I make a conscious decision not to take out my computer to go online as I often work weekends so when I am not working, I make it exclusive family time. It does soemtimes mean that I go offplan as I don't feel as accountable. That is soemthing I plan to work on this year. I cannot afford to be just a weekday dieter! It is time to do this properly.
Hubby is onboard as he loves it when I look smoking but he forgets and offers to make me toasts and sandwiches or even the occasional bowl of cereal.
He generally makes the right noises but I think in his heart, he is not confident that this WOE is healthy. Ah well. So far so good this year. I think he will be very supportive as I am the biggest he has ever seen me in the 13 years we have known each other.

cheryl- hope your MOM did its work before farm duty!
SLdeal- I will not even bother buying those MDs here. they are really tiny- I will have to buy at least 5 or 6 to feel full if I had to toss the buns. It is easier to try and get some other option for fastfood.

Re- eating out. I have a philosophy- I know that I am eating out and it is a treat. As long as I stay away from the obvious carb items, a bit of sugar in the sauce needs to be forgiven. But that is just the way that I rationalise eating out so that it is not a stress for my family.

have a great day everybody!

Good Morning everybody, I've been a bit busy, but things are going well and I'm still on track. Checked the scale this morning no change; took my measurements and I lost another 1" in the waist and 1/2" in the chest. I've been doing Fast5/LC for 10 days today, based on Herring's book I should see a drop in pounds after 2 weeks, lets hope I can hold out that long.

Lola - I'm glad you're feeling better and things are working out better for you and your hubby.

Penpen - Congratulations on your weight loss, any loss is better than a gain.

Cheryl - I hope things are working out well for you.

Have a fantastic day everybody!

Well I was up 1 lb this morning.... Guess I need to make sure and stick with the basics.
Lola : on the weekends just pull your computer out, type us our note for the day and put it back. If that helps you to stick with your diet on the weekends then your family will understand.
My BF came in the room the other night while I was on the computer. He tells me that it is a known fact that people who spend alot of time on facebook are 30 % fatter than the average person. First of all I am not on FACEBOOK and second what was he trying to tell me??? He said he just told me because he heard it but....do you think I am being a little over sensitive? oh well
My kids are convinced that I am growing plants in my stomach because I am eating the chia seeds! They keep walking around the house saying the chia chia chia thing....brats! gotta love em
So far today
B: sausage/egg/cheese muffin x2
L: other half of my cobb salad (do you think these are a bad choice?)
D: not sure. We are going to have to go out because I am getting a new stove and the other one is outside!
S: x2 eggs and 1 cheese stick on stand by if I need them.
Hope the rest of this day is better then the way this one started!
Happy Monday everyone!
I guess I am missing the band!!

Penny, you know what put it in my head when I was in high school? Private Benjamin. No kidding! I think a lot of people thought about joining the military after that movie came out. Glad you're feeling better.

Lola, glad you're back in love AND feeling better. I like your attitude about eating out. It sucks if it causes you anxiety. Eating out should be a treat and not a trauma.

sldeal, WTG on the inches lost! The lbs will catch up. Thanks for giving me a shout-out. Today is the day I start getting PAID!! Excited today but so nervous yesterday. It was a mild panic attack that lasted most of the day. I slept hard and now I feel relieved and ready. PTL! (Praise the Lord, for any of you who didn't know what that meant.)

Penny, that's hysterical about the kids singing the Chia song! I'm going to buy some with my next Netrition order, which will be sometime this week. I'm all out of my Ez Sweetz. Not good for a coffee drinker that needs sweetness in her coffee. Not sure how I'd take what your BF said, either. I'd ask him! Just stare him down and ask him what he meant. See if he squirms.

Well, like I said already, today is my first paid orientation. It's lovely and mild outside! Most of the snow that was on the ground has melted this week and that is good news for the horses. Maybe the arena can be used to exercise them again. They need to do some running! Will see if we can spread a good amount of that sand and salt mixture around in there to break up and help melt what's left in there. Don't think we have any real snow in the forecast for about a week. This is our window of opportunity!

Trying to find a replacement wheelbarrow for the one that broke under my using last week. It wasn't my fault, it was just time for it to snap. I hope they found a way to "bandage it" to make it functional again because no one is offering me to buy theirs for cheap online. I'm looking, though.

Have an excellent day, ladies. TTYL.

Hi Everybody

start of a new day here - I felt really good about yesterday as after a bit of dithering I finally got myself to the gym, walked on the treadmill 20 minutes, covered 2 kms and did about 10 minute stretches.
now I just need to sustain the habit of going to the gym during my lunch hour.
food wise I am making better choices: breakfast was a protein shake, lunch was 2 scrambled eggs, mayo and a piece of tomato and supper was hamburger meat with a mixed veg and cabbage dish with a hint of chilli.

Pen- I just loved the Chia story. It is something I tell my LG so of course it comes back to you when you least expect it.
Honestly men- you would think that once they grow up they would learn to know when to be quiet. There is no think before you speak philosophy ever. Hope you don't take his comments to heart. We are work in progess.

cheryl--hope you enjoyed the paid orientation. Bummer about the wheelbarrow. Does the snow melting mean that Spring is on its way?

SLdeal! way to goLosing inches are huge goals. enjoy the rewards. The Fast 5 is certainly showing results.
Have a great day everybody!

Quick question, I have been reading through lots of sites listing what they are eating during induction. I thought lunch meat, hot dogs and fruit was supposed to be off the list during the first two week especially???
Oh snow!!! I would love to see some snow! It has been about 5 years or so since I was up north and around it.

No, Lola. Spring won't be around until March or April. We get these warm patches amidst the cold snaps, though. Makes it more bearable. They got a new wheelbarrow delivered tonight so we're back in the game.

It is, Penny. Nuts, too. But not everyone goes by the book. If you want some snow, you can drive up to Asheville, NC. I think that might be the closest snow to you, in Florida. I love it but wouldn't want to live any farther north than I already do.

Had a good first orientation day. I was basically let loose to do the job and I ended up learning a couple of things I didn't know at the end of the shift. It's a muddy mess right now but the cold is returning again soon. Actually, it's only in the 20's tonight but still mildish tomorrow.

Tired but it's a good tired. Plan to go back to the farm to help out tomorrow as a volunteer. Late morning is what I'm going to shoot for. Night, everyone.

Hi Everybody
second post for today. I weighed myself and I am down to 65.7kg! yay! so that means I am done with 66!
So happy. It is nice to see another number on the scale as I slowly inch my way down the 60s.
So a .4kg loss- yikes not even a lb loss.
Plan to go to the gym at lunchtime.
Cheryl- yay for a new wheelbarrow.
Pen- saw my first snow last year! too amazing!
Have a great day everybody!

Good morning everybody,

I went to bed too early, got up too early and now I'm hungry, my window for eating isn't until 2pm I'm curious to see how my day is going to go.

Penpen - I have a confession when you first wrote about the chia seeds I thought you were referring to the chi chi chia seeds also. Had to look it up, so I did get a good giggle when you talked about your kids. I also agree with Cheryl, not everybody go by the book with induction, it's best to do what you feel will work for you.

Lola Way to go on your loss, you're really making good progress. If you can keep up with the gym you'll be at your goal in no time.

Cheryl glad you made it through orientation. I can't believe you said "it's only in the 20's" I would freeze to death! I don't know how you can manage. It's been a while since I lived in the States don't know if I could survive if I ever move back...low 60's over here is close to freezing.

Hope you guys have a terrific day!

Hi SL - thanks for the encouraging words.
You would think that at the rate that I lose I would be at goal by now but I am my worst obstacle. As soon as I feel good about myself I decide to show off my body and eat as if I have a normal metabolism. And then in the space of a few months I am back to where I started.
In 2011 at this point of the year I was at 53kg - just 5kgs from goal and I started eating out of plan- all the weight just piled back on.
I need to figure out a strategy that keeps me on plan all the time.
Hope you manage to stay on plan and get to your eating window.

you are also doing so well.
