But not until after the Christmas break.
I will stick to my usual Low Carb WOE.

I was wondering when you are doing 72 are you very strict about no vegetables other than salad greens. That is going to be the hardest part for me.
Also what about cream or cream cheese?
I can live with out these but would prefer not to
When I was really losing I did not have cream or cream cheese.
Yes to everything you said and yes that means no cream or cream cheese....
After we get to Ketosis we can add back one tab. HWC for a few days to see if we can consume it and still burn.

Turning ones~self into that Mean Lean Burning Machine is the target!

Soon...but not yet....thinkin on waitin till after the 25th...but taking it a moment at a time right now....
And yes very strict about the no veggie......i even have trouble gettin that half cup of loose lettuce down on Induction. I will be VVLC...........
Linda is gona do it too.......or may already be in burn mode........

This can slow losses and even help you gain as you come closer to goal.

Some are fine w it but just be aware.

3-4 T daily is a medicinal dose of CO and that amt is not necessary and as long as you have some fat in your diet there is no need to add any more it is your preference.
If you follow the basic Atkins plan, you should be fine. There have been many w great success.

Sorry, you guys, but this should be clarified.

Love you all.
Thanks Jem!
By the way I am still cramp free

I try very hard to up my fat so that I can in turn lower my protein because to much protein will stall me.
If I don't watch out I will quickly be eating a high protein diet!
I can increase carbs either.
Bottom line everyone must tweak the diet for their own needs.

I have never used them.
Are they expensive?

OK I have decided to start on Jan.1st.
The problem is I will have to get on the scale by then and I am afraid to right now.

Thanks for the info about the cream and cream cheese.
I will happily give those up as long as it gets this ball a moving!!!

JEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so so so glad and so happy to see you!
Yes to everything you said.
Last month I ran out of the CO and after the second week I had to drag myself out of bed. I do not consume it because I think it throws off weight.

Do you remember when I did UD~DD and had to back off the CO because of the kcals? Well when I started using coconut oil it was before I started losing March 2011. I started cooking with it and putting it in cakes and pies around 2000 or 2001. Hard to remember dates at this age. That in its self is reason enough for me to consume it.

Yall Jem is 100% right. It can slow weight loss but, not if you are bio. zero carb. In my opinion. That first summer in 2011 in the pool I used it for the energy to swim all day. Hours I swam.

The very main reason I use it is because it is a safer oil for me. MCT's

Medium Chair Fatty Acids.
Medium Chain Triglyceride's. 62%

Our brain is fat and it can only use that chain.

Jem isn't that right? It is what I have been reading for many years now. I really think it has gotten me out of the brain fog I was in. That and the no refined or processed carbs....

I replace it from all other fats when I can.
Memory was the main reason I started consuming the oil. Several years ago.

Dr. Atkins did talk about it in one of his books. Not the last one he didn't write.......

I use it as a sunblocker.
A hair dressing.
It has tons of uses.
My dogs love to lick it from my fingers. Doggies are smart creatures..........

I have not used veggie oil in many many years. The last time I used it, I tasted it and thought I was going to Try it...I had never stopped and just tasted it....ugh! And shorting, bring me the air puke bag

I would feel better using Lard, fresh rendered........I even have crackling in my fridge

Jem have you found your RV yet?

I've low-carbed Dr. Atkins style since 1999. The only time I ever 'cheated' was when, three months into the woe I ate one frozen snickers bar, you know, the ice cream kind? Within a few hours I was literally laying on the bathroom floor unless I had my head in a bucket or my butt on the, well you get the picture...sorry its yucky! When I finally was able to leave the bathroom to lay in bed and recoup, well folks, thats all it took for me to understand that sugar is evil and unhealthy ingredients are as well. It was a lesson well learned I guess, because it was August 1999 when that happened and like I said I did it only once. I took Dr. Atkins lesson of "one bite is the kiss of death" to heart right then and there!

You have me

Mama

Today you would be 84 if you were still with me. I love you. I had to take a step back and give you a Birthday I will always have you in my heart. Her name was........
Doris Louise and she is/was and always will be my mama. My heart still is on fire with such a great need to hug you one more time.
Hug your mama today and if she is too far from you call her and tell her you love her. One does not know when it could be the last hug or the last time you hear the sweet voice of your mama.

I stopped last year at this time and had to stop one more time and say Happy Birthday mama.............................................. .....................................I miss you every second. 8 years feels like yesterday......................................... ......

I had 3 left in the fridge and when I finished cutting and cutting away I think I came out with a whole one! I left them too long! I will not make that mistake again! They don't taste very good if they sit too long from the ruff handling to get them to my Kroger!!!!

I still don't know how many carbs are in one. I get side tracks when I am reading up on them and forget to check carb count!
I am fixin to find out!

fat..I forgot to put fat down..26.66 grams..Shanan I ate it this time alone and it raised my blood sugar around 15 to 20 points. I felt my heart start to beat harder and faster. Also I checked my sugar and it was a little over 100. It stays around 72 normally.....

Fiber can raise blood sugar..Well it does mine sometimes. It depends on what source the fiber came from. I am very carb sensitive.

This one thing gives me a disadvantage and a advantage...You see I can not eat off my WOE without meds for blood sugar spikes. I saw someone else on here in the wee hours that said the same thing on a thread about cheating. And if my BS does go up it will bottom out. She also said these words! I didnt say anything to her but it is true for me too....Cricket got me out of bed and hour after we laid down. Rain is not her friend. She is still having seizures with the Keppra but they are mild compared to before. Anyway I worked on a ProGet and now me sleepie. Winds here about 50 or more miles an hour. I was going to town...May wait till tomorrow. I dont want to be blown all over the road...

A fruit comes from the flower so that means that lettuce and such are vegies. Broccoli flowers after the fact, etc.

But that puts many non sweets like avos, tomatoes, squash......into the fruit category. But since they are not sweet, do not effect blood sugar.

ML, if MCT was the only fat the brain could use, humans would have become extinct a long time ago.
I have followed Dr Newport's journey re her Alzheimers stricken husband and she had discovered that the effects of CO wear off. Hence the doses throughout the day.

There is much hyperbole as there is in many 'miracle cures'.

Bottom line is eat quality fats and don't force feed, (consume what comes w meat, avos, butter/dairy, nuts, olives and the oil. Whatever you prefer to cook with. Your choice).
