Dr Robert Atkins DANDR' Climbing The Ladder/ UD~DD

Hello, I am Marylouise. I am a retired Cosmetologist. My goal is to regain my health, while reducing my weight. At the present time I am reading Dr. Robert Atkins 1972 Diet Revolution.

Statement of Robert C. Atkins, M.D. to the Senate Select Committee On Human Needs April 12, 1973 starts on page 299 of his book “Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution. If you do not have a copy of this book, get it.

Many people may think I am a newbie to Dr. Robert Atkins diet. I am a newbie to this web site, LCF, not to Dr. Robert Atkins diet. The first time I went on Dr. Atkins diet was 1972. I lost 17 pounds the first two weeks.

I thought the weight would stay gone, it did not!

Many fat years later I went back on Dr. Atkins diet. The year was 2002. I lost 112 pounds. Again I thought I had it all under my control. How wrong I was. I was doing his 1972 Diet Revolution WOE. I did not take it to the finish line. Oh, how I wish I had. I regained every ounce and then some.

Fast forward to today. March 1, 2011, I reached another all time high fat weight! I started on his Diet Revolution again. I lost 39 pounds from March 1 to May 15 2011. I was looking around one day in cyberspace and I happened upon the Atkins Web Site. I took a look see. I liked what I saw, so I joined Atkins Web Site. Soon I learned everyone was on his newest book that he had somehow written from his grave. The New Atkins For The New You, NANY. It may work for some, but I did not work for me.

On “his” new book I lost from May 16, 2011 to July 25, 2011 a grand total of 5 pounds!

A new friend came along and saved me, “Whitedov”. As her name implies she is a true dove. Whitedov took my hand and brought me here.

I am back on Dr. Robert Atkins 1972 Diet Revolution. My feet are firmly planted. My roaming in Cyberspace days are behind me. I am moving again; to become the new me I have always wanted to be.

So, my day starts today with zero carbs. I am looking for that purple everyone wants to see

I just cleaned up from supper. IT was delish!!!!

I added 4 ounces of organic chopped celery!

I even fixed same dish for H and he loved it! I did add more mayo to his and about 8 sliced olives. I poured a small amount of olive water over mine

I put all of it together in a throw away bowl. I was surprised when he said, "this is really good'!
H has lost 25 pounds this summer!!
He stopped eating so much junk! Like those dollar sugar cookies from walmart!

I ate only what you see that I posted.
Cept for the 4 ounces of celery.
Did not find a pickle

Hi Mary Louise!

An other thread!!!

Wow, you sure don't eat much on the DD.
Looks like I may just be eating too much.
I have just been so hungry....well maybe not hungry.....just wanting to eat...do you know what I mean?

I need to get out and do some heavy gardening to get my mind back on track.

He put on smaller jeans today and was able to button them. He has started weighing each day. YOU know how much that helps to fit in your clothes better and looking at that lower number on our friends!

Who brought up the subject of too much Magnesium??

I am not going to take the amount I have been taking. I didnt read up on it but I did notice on my Complete Essentials it only has 31% of what they think we need. So I am only going to take one a day from here on out.

Thank you to who ever it was that told me about what they read.

Heather Yes I do know what you mean. We must work HARD to rewire our brain. Somehow! It is a struggle I know but it has to be done!

I am thinking even right now how much I would love to have a big bag of chips and cheese dip. OR a huge Zero bar. And on and on!

One day I want to be able to go to my fridge and gather the makings for all of those bags of carbage, and create my own great tasting LC Zero's and chips and dip.

Bad sentence but yall know what I mean...

I didn't bring it up, but it is actually very difficult to get too much magnesium, even in supplements. Now, *manganese* toxicity is a very different story, and that can majorly mess with your nerves and hormonal signals from your brain. But magnesium, even double the recommended amount, is almost always beneficial for folks rather than detrimental

There are some contraindications for it, that would be something to research and discuss with your doctor, but going up to the RDV for magnesium citrate is quite safe. Same thing with Vitamin C - it is incredibly hard to reach toxicity, but the benefits are numerous to supplementing it.

ML, how's your clogged duct? At least you can still eat!!

My dog had a scare Saturday and is on sort of a brat diet....really just rice, broth and lean protein.
She was mostly raw meat, egg, cottage cheese before so she thinks I'm trying to starve her.

Heather, Tarye just said we can't take too much. I do take a big V.-C too.

Heather gos I forgot it helps with cramps too!!! AS bad as mine was ,I am running to put them back into each little plastic bag!!! I was having cramps all over my body! I had to be very careful how I moved so I would not get one when I weighed 300!

MAN thinking about how much I have lost ......It is almost unbelievable but it is real. I see a slim face looking back at me again!!!! I no longer have 3 chins
I no longer want to cover mirror's!!!
I love looking at myself again, even with 62 yr. old wrinkles

OH me what happened? Her stomach didn't flip did it? Oh I hope she gets completely 100% asap!

You know it has only gotten big a couple times in past week or so.

Jem I just now felt my neck and it feels smaller!
But it is still there. Maybe it moved back a little.
I have been doing the lemon.
But have not in the past several days did any lemon. Just thinking about that lemon makes my face prune up

My poor Cricket thinks I starve her every day! I think she would eat until she dropped dead.

Did you ask any of your co-workers about the gland this past weekend?

When I do get to 160 I am going to try my best to hold it for a couple months and then get back to trying to find that 150 magic!!!! I feel wonderful when I weigh 150!

Might have to get back on that bike to find 150!!!!! I still have my white cool helmet!

Interesting that you mention going to bed at 300 pounds and waking up in the 160's.
Do you sleep well?
I have been tossing and turning all night long.
I have not been taking my melatonin!
I have to get back to that.
Thanks for the reminder!

You have got to post a pict of you on your bike!!!

I do have pictures of me and H. I even have a few of me driving the 3 wheeler he built in 2006. We had to sell it because of money woes. He wants to build another one. I don't really don't want him to. Those things are so so dangerous!

If I can ever unpack I will for sure post some pictures of that time....

Mel and me have been friends for so long! I think the day I found those supplements is a day that changed my life! Sis is the one that told me about them!!!! I sleep like a baby!!!!
She and I do not agree on dose. It only takes a couple grams.............

The last bike He bought was black and shined like a new penny.

Hey everyone! ML I am also tying to stay under 30% protein. That new thread filled up fast! ML I do most of my posting on my smartphone and its a pain to cut and paste on here that's why I don't post my food log/ percentages. My md yesterday was 1143. that's a little high I usually shoot for 1000 on mondays. Today is my DD. I don't really get too tired from it ML. I just am a little tire d all of the time anyway but I think that's my work hours. The days I have dd I always seem to get more done at home and I get work done faster too. Maybe because I am not sitting around eating lol. I get tired when I eat too much.

Hi Cathleen!!!!
How are you doing?
Very interesting post about water!
You know I never drink water in the AM.
I drink many cups of coffee.
I should add some water!

Hello Shanan!(I will all ways think of you as a sweetlady)
How are you?
I can so relate to getting tired from eating too much!
That is why I loved to fast.
But it did not help me lose.
If you don't mind my asking, I was wondering how may calories do you take in on your DD? Do you get very hungry?
How is your daughter settling in to school.
Mine is in 7th grade this year.
She is liking her classes and teachers but the friendships are an emotional roller coster right now.

Hope you all have a good day!

my daughter id doing fine, a little overwhelmed with homework this year she's in 11th and has several dual enrollment college classes. She is reallyy noticing the increased workload.
she has a boyfriend so she hardly hangs out with her friends anymore. I told her she will regret that later.

Thanks for the info!
Do you eat mostly low carb?
I would think eating low carb would help you not feel so hungry.

A boyfriend!
My daughter had no interest in boys yet!
All her friends are boy crazy and it bugs her when that is all they want to talk about.
