Did good today. Guess what! I even ate an ounce of fresh pineapple

Had baked chicken. Did it to try to get more chicken for less kcals. But I don't think it made much difference on the kcals.
I ate 5 ounces of it.
I also ate 2 servings of green beans and one dill pickle. It was a good supper. I am a little empty. It is okay though. I hvae a fresh hot cup of Bigalow Cozy Chamomile tea I am sipping on.
You really are doing good Mary Louise!
You are keeping those calories so low!
I know that it is very hard to keep protein low but you are doing it.
I will work on my menu today and get back to you.
I want to lower my cals and protein, and increase fat even more today.

Hope you headache goes away fast.

Cooked chicken bones are the real problem because they splinter...or any thinner dried up bone like the ones Lucy finds in the woods.

Deer bones should be fine so long as they are not so small. Big marrow bones are pretty hard to break down unless they are really old or well cooked.

Only big marrow bones from now on and I will toss them when she loses interest or breaks them.

ML, even your local hospital should have some program for indigent. But since you still own property, that may interfere.
The teaching hosp may have something but you probably need to contact the social service dept....the billing office may connect you.
Don't give up!!

Really the doc who worked on you before probably got an idea of the size and stopped because of that.

Thanks for the welcomes.

And Mary Louise thanks for the links. I'm still exploring forum. I'm going to check out the Extended Induction one today.

Yesterday I ate a few more than the 20 carbs for my induction...that sweet red bell pepper was too delicious.. This morning the scale was up 2 lbs. It might have been something else...but that was the only difference between yesterday and today.

I have only been estimating my carbs since I started induction, but maybe I should start using one of those programs that tracks. No biggie, since my carbs are all from cream, splenda, or leafy greens with the occasional tomato or bell pepper. But if I am going to stay on induction longer (today being day 14) I'm going to need more variety other then leafy greens. So something to help track my carbs would be a good thing.

I'm hoping not to have to stay this restricted, but I think I'll stay at induction levels until the end of this month and then re-visit the situation.

I've been without medical care before and have family who live there so I say to Mary Louise.

thanks everyone...it will be fun getting to know you,
Bridget

That Melatonin is something else ant it I dont know if it is true or not, but I read somewhere that our stores can get depleted from stress. I do know it works! I take 2 grams.
Maybe we should buy stock in it!
I remember well, sleeping with all the windows open wide and the screen door latched with a little hook. Had a monster attic fan in the hall. And this was in Memphis Tennessee!

Ok here is my food for today.
I am predicting my dinner because it is only 4:15.

B-1 scrampled egg, 3-tablespoons of butter, one Bacon and coffee

L-3 cream cheese clouds

D-Taco salad, 1/4 pound ground beef, 1 tablespoon chopped onion, 1/4 cup cabbage, 1 tablespoon sour cream and hot sauce!

Sn-1 diet tonic water

According to ****** this is
cals-951
Fat-89.9
Carbs-8.6
Protein-25.7

Fat 85%
protein 11%
Carbs 4%

I am pleased with my calories, protein, and fat!
I was not starving at all.
Really looking forward to the weigh in tomorrow morning.

I discovered that you can customize a food on ******....it is not hard to do...that is how I came up with the cream cheese clouds numbers.

Hi Mary Louise!!!!

I take one gram of the Melatonin and it really helps me calm down and sleep.
I usually have some pretty great dreams too.

Where are the (young)old regulars?
Haven't heard from Linda and Cathleen in a while.
I miss you guys!
I am sure there is someone else out there I have forgotten.
I sure hope everyone is OK!

Heather I know it does sound like it is so hard to lose weight, but in truth it isn't. You just got to make up your mind that you are gona get-er done. That apple you can not have now you will have again. I know it is true because I ate another ounce of my Gala this morning. When I weighed today I was LIKE WOW!!!! I can have a bite of Gala apple. When I took a bite of a fresh pineapple this morning, one ounce with the Gala, I was like OH MY GOSH. And that one ounce hard cheese at room temp., well I had a wonderful breakfast!

Yes the headache went away...

Jem do you mean I DO NOT need to continue to try to get it out like he tried to do? Because of it's size. OH ME...

Yes they wanted me to go to the teaching hospital. In Little Rock Arkansas. I want to try alternative medicine first. Like the lemon and extra things like Pomegranate extract. I am taking the supplements now, past 3 months, that Dr. Atkins asked everyone to take. I was so dumb to have not been doing it since year ago last March. I was scared to take them. I thought it would slow my weight loss down too much!
I was dumb! I was DUMB!!

Being charity scares the stew out of me!
I do go to our health department. I see a nurse prac. Still take 3 things that have to have a scrip.
Blood pressure, Metoprolol, 2 times a day.
Have to take Lasix. The blood pressure pills slow my heart rate down and in so doing I retain too much fluid in my legs! They will not change the type I take because I have had one very mild heart attack
Flexeril for the muscle cramps. I am weaning myself off of those pills.

I was on the kitchen sink!

A list that would wear me out putting in here.

About bones. Have you ever boiled them with little ACV? And drank the broth? I have. Suppose to be very good for you.

Oh me. Well ...Sorry but that is too extreme for me. It is easier to eat the right foods for weight loss. I have personally had 2 friends do that. Not a good thing for everyone. I would have to weight 500 pounds before I would even think about having that done. It can and will be life altering.

Heather you scrambled one egg with 3 tabs of butter??

What kind of seasonings did you put in the meat to make it be called a taco salad??

Why protein so low? are you doing a UD/DD?? Or just cutting back on kcals??
I'm sorry I am confused.

Breakfast

Ice water
3 mugs coffee
2 hwc
1 co
1 oz hard cheese
1 oz gala apple
1 oz fresh pineapple

Snack

3 mugs coffee
1 hwc
1 co

Supper

6 oz baked chicken thigh
1 serving green beans
1 serving canned squash/onion's
3/4 serving black beans
half dill pickle

I started feeling very weak before I ate. Supper was later than usual.
I am too full now.
This is the first time I have ate a starch. Well the squash is starchy isn't it?

I should not have ate both at the same time. I was too weak when I started eating and after about 5 or 6 bites I wanted to stop. I didn't eat all the chicken. I left some of the pickle and I ate little more than half of the black beans.

I think I have missed you Mary Louise...you are probably asleep!

I don't use taco seasoning in my ground beef, just chili powder.
Put the meat on a bed of cabbage and I call it a taco salad.

I used about 2 tablespoons of butter for one egg and 1 for my coffee.
I am desperately trying to eat more fat and less protein.

It was also one of those wonderful days when I just was not that hungry and I did not have food on my mind.
Love those kind of days!

With my luck I will be ravenous tomorrow

Have a good sleep Mary Louise!

I have seen online that a lot of people stay at induction levels for a while. I am just going to do this I think. I see a lot of people lose a ton of weight on induction...but I am bouncing between 3-5 lbs weight loss in 2 weeks of induction. I'm pleased to be losing weight, but am clearly not a *fast* loser. I expected it--as a diabetic it is a given that I am insulin resistant.

I opened a ****** account, but haven't put anything into it yet. At this point in my very new LC life, I want it primarily to track my carbs and allow me more variety than Atkins '72 salad induction for my 20 carbs.

I made my first chocolate coconut oil bark as I was sooo craving the chocolate. It tastes really good and was so easy.... I put it on the dehydrator thinggy that you can use to turn applesauce into fruit leather and set it in the fridge. It breaks right off cleanly

This weekend I am going to clean out my fridge of the higher carb sauces and cook up a mess of meat for lunches next week

8 oz. of cream cheese
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2cup of splenda
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla or other flavoring
mix real well in a mixer
drop spoonfuls on a cookie sheet and place in freezer until firm.
I cut down on the splenda and add SF raspberry syrup to make pink clouds.
makes 24

They are wonderful during hot weather. They must be kept in the freezer.
I sometime make smaller button sized ones.

Each cloud has,
70 Calories
7g fat
1g protein
1g carbohydrate

I have been pretty much on induction since may of 2011.
I do have nuts, cream, and cheese more now.

I have lost 100 pounds more than once (on a low fat and low calories diet).
And of course I always gain it back and more.
Because of that I really believe that my system is kinda broken and I will have to remain at 20 carbs or less for the rest of my life. This was hard to get used to at first but then I figured at these there will be the rest of a life to live, so it is worth it.

So far I am down about 80 on Low carb.
My loss has slowed way down but I will never give up!

****** is very helpful.
It really helps you be accountable!
Good for you for getting started on recording your food.
You will learn so much.
I did not start until I was several months in to Low Carbing.

I am now a slow loser too.
I am always saying to myself
"Slow and steady wins the race"

It is so exciting when you start to see the pounds dropping off!
You are going to love it!
I wish you the best!

I had forgotten you put butter in your coffee. I am a nosy old buzzer.

'Your TACO salad sounds GREAT!

Can I share?

The only time I added extra fat was when I was swimming. And then it was a healthy fat. Like CO and EVOO. Heather I promise I am not trying to be so nosy I just am a little worried.

That being said I do put CO in my coffee. CO is a small chain fatty acid. It goes straight to the brain. The brain lives off small fatty chain acids and I am sure things I know nothing about.

If you read Mercola he says he consumes 6 tab. a day for healthy brain function. Ant sure it be a helping me but it ant a hurtin memee If I was to consume that much fat I would gain. He works out. I sit here and read all day
