Thank you for your prayers. FIL had an episode Sat. He has had ones similar due to low BS but the paramedics thought stroke. Pretty scared as he is almost 91. Tough day Sat to say the least. On Sun amazingly enough he was better. We could understand his speech and he could eat by himself. However his heart rate is really low, below 40 so a pacemaker will go in at 5pm today. He is lucky. It was our anniversary yesterday 27 years, but the best gift was my FIL being ok.
Hope please keep posting and I am glad you found a plan for your needs. SL, you have it under control. Port, glad you are enjoying the hot tub and pool, very relaxing. Pork rinds have a lot of salt, that's the weight gain. 5lbs is a lot. I don't think I ever lost that much in one week. Proud of you. Cathleen, hope you will share your recipes soon. How is the fibre. My sister goes to the specialist Thurs and I will let you know what happens. ML. weight will fluctuate, hang in there please. The plan probably needs tweaking every week to accommodate your needs. You are a star. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. It is a double sorrow because it relives memories of my parents. Next month will be 2 years my Mom has been gone and i will never get over it. Anyway stayed on plan as much as I could as we didn't eat all day Sat. Haven't weighed but the loss is not accurate since i starved Sat. Love and hugs to all. Sounds like everyone is on a successful journey Linda |

back.......
I know it seems as if I am a slacker, but no ! I teach and have kids.... and hubby and pets.... so like you all, crazy times. The time for teaching, and then the paperwork alone, keeps me crazy busy !
BUT !!!!! Still on track, but boo hoo... only loss to 170 now... in two weeks, I forget now, if thats 3 or 4 lbs... thats ok..... BUT..... clothing fits soooooo much better, and down a size or so in some.... and that makes it more worth while ! feel better more limber and much more active now... stay up later, have more energy.... THAT IS WORTH the lack of wt in joy ! hahahhahabut, I really don't know, I do know I was not really all that carbed up either..... so hmmmmm, I feel maybe not eating enough ? having loads of fld, I know the drill, just not the right combo ? and although my weeks of induction should be done , think I will keep going more.... Glad all is doing well, congrats on all those losses ! ![]()

You're doing so well, ML..... amazing, and inspirational to us all .... keep up the amazing work.... you will so be there ....
I am not sure what I should change up.... to throw it in a loop and boost a bit. One would think teaching in nursing would have answers..... but hey ! NOPE human first. lol.... LOL. ! was looking at "Stillmans" just now, interesting, ... maybe if I do that for a few days throw my clever body off track a bit" any other ideas ? DON'T crave sweets, crave veggies.... hahahahha thats good... sort of LOL ![]() |

hey, just for kicks found some things on other sites... that can dress up foods..... thought I would share....
silken tofu For some reason, the "Lite" lowfat version is much lower in carbs than the regular silken tofu, so I recommend choosing that. One whole pkg (349g) of Mori-nu Lite silken tofu FIRM has: 124 calories, 22g protein, 2.8g fat, 2.8g carbs One whole pkg of Mori-nu Lite silken tofu, EXTRA FIRM has: 128 calories, 24.4g protein, 2.8g fat, 2.4g carbs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Purée or blend the tofu, and add seasonings - depending on the intended use. My thought is to blenderize a whole pkg till smooth and creamy, then divide in half. Make one half savoury, the other half sweet/desserty. Can use as a creamy dip or sauce. Savoury things - to 1/2 pkg blended Lite silken tofu add 1 Tbsp lemon juice (1 carb) or distilled wine vinegar (0 carbs), and desired herbs dash garlic/onion powder, fresh dill, parsley, paprika, cayenne, tarragon, basil ... or 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard (1 carb) or 1 tsp horseradish (0 carb) or whatever, just be sure to acknowledge the added carbs. Fresh or dried green leaf herbs such as dill, parsley, basil or chives ... are mostly fiber Sweet things - to 1/2 pkg blended Lite silken tofu add zero-carb sweetener of choice 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice (1 carb) if desired flavouring extract - vanilla, almond, orange etc ..... zero-carb sugar-free syrups, such as DaVinci serve like a creamy sauce with diet Jello cubes folded in. use the blended tofu as part of the cold liquid when preparing diet Jello, for a creamy fruity tasting dessert sounded interesting anyway..... |

in addition to that....
Custard/Cheesecake dish 1/4 pkg (3 oz) LITE firm silken tofu .. (0.6g) 1/2 cup dry curd cottage cheese .. (1.9g) 2 egg whites .... (0.6g) stevia or liquid SugarTwin or other zero-carb sweetener pinch of salt, optional few drops vanilla or other flavouring ... (trace) nutmeg, cinnamon to dust on top, if desired .. (trace) - preheat oven 350°F - purée the tofu in blender or food procesor. Add cottage cheese, blend till smooth, then add egg whites, vanilla or flavouring of choice and sweetener. I used a few drops each of stevia and liquid SugarTwin. I tasted it, and decided a wee pinch of salt was called for, you may leave it out. - pour into small baking dish (or two custard cups) that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. Dust the top with a little cinnamon or freshly grated nutmeg or mace. - bake for 15 - 20 minutes, or till puffed and surface is firm to touch, but still soft and a bit jiggly in the center. It will firm up when chilled. - cool thoroughly to room temperature, then cover and chill well before serving. 153 calories, 31g protein, 3.1g carbs, 1g fat hmmmmmmmmm |
