Coconut Oil & Flour
I am fairly new to low carb. I did do Atkins '72, but it has been so long. I do have the book.
Questions: Please tell me how much Coconut oil can you use, how many carbs is it? Please tell me how much coconut flour can you use, how many carbs? Please tell me what you know about these products. Thank you so much, Melanie ![]() |

I think it depends on what phase of the diet you are on.
Coconut oil is carb free and unless you are restricting your calories can be used liberally. I cook with it, but some people eat it straight. Gives me tummy problems eating it straight though, so I just cook with it. Coconut flour has more carbs and won't be for Induction, I'm not even sure if it would be okay for OWL(?). Well, maybe if it's considered a nut... hmm. Check the labels on your package for exact carb counts as I think they vary by brand. |

Coconut flour has a lot of fiber, so it's generally low-carb (just a few carbs per 1/4 cup) but it can be difficult to work with because it sucks the moisture out of things so well.
The actual carb count can vary by brand, so shop around |
