Liking what I have been reading so fa too. One thing I have noticed from reading is am not eating enough protein in the morning. Before I was eating steaks and eggs for my first meal. Maybe I am doing it backwards now. I tried to eat eggs and bacon this morning and I could not. I ate about 4 or 5 bites of the scrambled eggs and 3 slices of the SF bacon. Made me feel a little sick and I was finally seeing that the protein in both are very LOW!

I am going to fat secrets to see how much beef I need to make the at least 50 grams protein. Kitty did say she is eating 2 beef patties each morning.

Kitty has maintained her loss way longer than me!

ML. You are figuring it out. Way to go. Following you. I am not a breakfast eater so I will have to build up a tolerance to so much protein in the am if I decide that plan is the way to go. Any weight loss since last week ?

Okay...I see that even blue it was okay to add them to the list because the blue link took you to Netrition
Made a mess of it but here is the list I have found on protein and veggie carb count.
It said the higher on the list the least carbs.

I will be doing some work on the list of what I will chose to eat. Will post a little latter that list....

I AM GOING TO FIGURE THIS OUT. IT WILL NOT STALL ME TOO MANY DAYS FROM NOW. I WILL START TO SEE MY FRIEND THE SCALE GO BACK DOWN AND DOWN AND DOWN!

Kitty, I agree with you about JUDDD. I read and researched it last night, and I don't think it is the answer for me right now after being on the plan for so long. My problem is that I have followed the plan and the LIST for a year and I am afraid to add any carbs. I know that is a big problem. I have read that adding carbs and increasing calories helps, others say reduce protein but increase fat. I can't eat a lot of cheese. It can actually make me gain weight. If I don't fill up on protein I get hungry. I need to exercise more too.

Is that your bike Soontobesexy? My DH has been riding since he was 16. He built his first Harley from parts. About 10 years ago I bought him a new Dyna Wide Glide and said happy father's day for the rest of your life. He loves working on it. Do you live in the San Fernando Valley? The restaurants you mention are near my home. Love famous Dave's.

Are you still doing the LR Kitty? On the other site is was quite the topic of discussion. So are you saying beef once a day but chicken and fish are OK? I guess you have to count calories??? Also you mention veggies. What kind? Did you use ********* to get the ratios? If you lower the protein where do the fats come from. I think that all this discussion makes me realize that I need to track my foods and not just eat as much as I want of the protein products.

Frances, what is the soup you make? Remember the soup diet. The more you ate the more you lost!!! Can you eat as much as you want of the soup on the 500 calorie days. What do you eat on the other days. It says anything but I don't know if I have to control to limit portions. I don't smoke, do drugs or drink but food is the enemy for me. I have one bite of a no no and it is binge time.

I know exercise is important. I haven't gone for awhile and my DH even paid for a trainer. I just hate it. I do love gardening but as of late my only exercise has been winding up the hose.

Sorry for all the questions. Like ML said I feel like I am a newcomer to Atkins. I have about 18 lbs to go to goal weight. Since i have never added carbs in a real sense I fear getting to my goal weight and as I have stated before I think I slip to sabotage myself so I won't reach goal weight and have to deal with it.

What are the New "Dirty Dozen"

Celery
Peaches
Strawberries
Apples
Blueberries
Nectarines
Bell peppers
Spinach
Kale
Cherries
Potatoes
Grapes

We’ve all heard of the so-called "dirty dozen" those fruits and vegetables that have the highest levels of pesticide contamination. You can reduce the amount of pesticides you consume by nearly 80 percent by avoiding these twelve most contaminated fresh produce.

TheEnvironmental Working Group is the one that did the study!
It wanted to be a blue link so I hope it is okay now......I connected the first two words in hope it want be blue!

Soontobe, wow same restaurants including Abuelos in my city. Love to see the pics and thanks for the soup recipes. The vegetable soup you eat the vegetables as well? I am familiar with the Cabbage soup diet. Are you saying do that only or in conjunction with Atkins? Sorry for all the questions but I am trying to get these last lbs off.

I'm here now too. Home from work.

OK, I started the LR all wrong for me! Tried to get my 50g of protein with eggs, then tuna.....blehhhhh! I couldn't eat that much so early in the morning! Did my research and found I could eat steak an not as much...it was yummier too for breakfast. Did that for a bit. Found 2 problems...obviously the price....second my teeth/gums. For some reason so much chewing steak started irritating them...not sure why...maybe time of day? Realized steak = hamburger. Started eating my 50 in that. I have one patties or loose burger. Precooked and portioned in ziplock bags in freezer to keep from going bad. Zap a bit to thaw/warm. Add cheese lately and a tad sf ketchup and sf relish. Yummy! I can o tat in the morning easily. Got 2 packs of burger on sale here today. Making burgers soon here for my BAB (big arse breakfast) you are to have no carbs to very minimum with breakfast. No snack till lunch. Then, no snack till dinner. I eat my veggies at these 2 meals and some protein....a bit of chicken, etc. if in need of losing weight, he promotes keeping carbs low. Similar to induction levels. Time of eating important too. Breakfast as soon as possible upon waking...within 30 min. Window is good. You really need to read about it before trying.

Lots of good info on his blogs. Google: Jack kruse Leptin rx faqs the first hit should be a good start.

I was doing it and doing well....then got I'll from the thyroid upping...that got me off the LR wagon....want to get back. Thinking of doing a combo. LR and egging. Burger breakfast, then eggs rest of day. A meat and egg thing.

Fats? Plenty. Coconut oil in coffee, fatty burgers, mayo, veggies stir fried in oil, butter! Cream cheese....No lack of fats!
