Marylouise, make that four pounds since Saturday morning; my infuriating fluctuations of the five-week plateau had me weighing at 148 Friday and 147 Saturday!

kittycitygirl, just for you I cracked open the smoky garlic flavor tonight and it was outstanding! I mean, knees-weak-have-to-sit-down gooood! Of course, it did have the benefit of being paired with my awesomely cooked pork chops, but still.

It was spicier than I'd thought, though, which makes me wonder about the one specifically labeled spicy and the one labeled hot since this one didn't indicate it would be. I love spicy food, but anyone who doesn't, maybe stick with the original.

The label reads that it tastes the same as Guy's regular, sugared bbq sauce. I haven't tried it so can't compare, but this stuff was very good. And I usually hate artificial sweeteners, and also am pickier than a pair of 4-year-olds, so if I like something new most people who know me are impressed (and shocked ) enough to try it.

Oh, and I ordered it from netrition and it's $3.49 for an 18-ounce bottle.

Thanks! I've felt so huge up until this started, 175 on Feb. 1. For being in the 110-120 range my entire adult life, it was miserable and depressing and more than a bit overwhelming. This feels pretty good, and will feel even better when I knock off the rest!

I know I sure feel different even this far from what I really wish I weighed. I'd like to know what it feels like to weigh 130 pounds. I don't ever remember weighing 110 or 120. Maybe when I was first born. I know I was skinny until I was in 4th grade.

We all have something we never forget from our childhood. The thing I never forget was when nathleen almost died. It seems to me that was when I started gaining weight. But I don't think I will ever really know why I got fat. I was the fat kid at school.

I know this. I can not get fat again. If I do nothing will matter because I will not be alive

So~ life is sweeter than that 9th olive. I must keep reminding myself of that fact.

Are you here?

When I was in the third grade I can remember some things. But not much. dang I for sure will never forget when I did know I was fat. I heard mama tell a friend of hers she was worried about me. Her friend said, Oh doris she will lose weight when she starts to see boys. well that didn't happen. After that day I started to diet.

I Remember something else too. That picture in the middle of me and mama. That picture was taken at Christmas time. Mama had a seizure that summer. We found out she had lung cancer that summer. he day after we got back home from the hospital I cooked mama what she wanted for breakfast and supper for many months. I weighed about 180 maybe 190 before she got sick. By Christmas I had gained up to at least 300. I did not get back in the pool after we got back home from the hospital. I gained that extra weight in a very short time frame. I can go to bed at a normal fat weight and wake up as OBESE as a COW the next morning........

Good morning,

Struggling here, but working at it. Trying to get into a routine and have a normal day. Things have been so busy. 156 this am, so not too bad, but got down to 150 so sort of mad at myself.

Menu:
B - 1 cup coffee, Hwc, sweetner, 2 bacon, 2 eggs
L - chicken salad
D - taco salad
S - 1 cup coffee, hwc, sweetner

Let's see if I can make it through the day Hope all is well.

Good Morning!

I have a confession to make....I ate stuff off plan yesterday......some nuts and peanut butter....for some reason I was STARVED and NOTHING would satisfy me. I hate it when that happens.

But...today is a new day. I did lose 2.4#, so that is a start...146.6 today. I think that I may have to count calories, too. I know you shouldn't have to, but for myself, it might be necessary. Any input on this would be appreciated!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning Joannew!!

2.4 pounds!!!
That is great!!!

I don't think nuts and peanut butter are that bad.
Certainly better than a bag of cookies!
The important thing is that you are back on track today!!!!
I am not sure about the calories I know that some people feel that
they have to take them in to consideration. For me I eat until I am satisfied
and stop right there. I tend to get there faster if I eat more fat and fat has
lots of calories! I think it is important to figure out what works best for your
body. We are all different.

Joan~ You are so very right! Today is a new day!

on the 2.4

Counting kcals is something Dr. A. said we didn't have to do. For me doing a clean induction I am still eating something wrong. I should be losing now but I am not. I'm going to record every drop of food and drink in an attempt to find what I am doing wrong. I use Torani sugar free flavoring syrup. This is the only thing I am doing different. I meant to not use it today but I simply forgot. I am going to put it out of my sight so I want have to worry about forgetting to not use it. I wish I could turn the clock back and not have it in me, but it is what it is.

As you said today is new day. But tomorrow will be my new day

I have been wondering a lot about something. I am wondering if even though we are using artificial sweet does my brain sometimes get confused?? I know I can't tell the difference from real sugar and fake. Is my brain having trouble knowing which is which too??????????????????????????????????????????????

Jessie~

I feel better too. I am glad you do too! Its horrible to be sick to your stomach. UGH!

Was your chicken breast good? Why would he think you are nuts?? Is it because you cooked it naked?? It sounded like it would be very good! I have 2 big pieces I will eat today left over from last night. Chicken breast is not my fave part but it has to be eaten. Waste not want not.

Good morning all. I had a cup of chicken salad and 2 strips of SF bacon this morning. I'm pretty satisfied and not ready for lunch just yet. Lunch will be eggs and cheese fried in butter. I also have a small bag of plain pork skins on hand for a crunchy snack and there is no sugar in them I have read the label and the ingredients list and nothing in them. I have had 64 oz water so far. Does this all sound good?? I want to have my weight come off for a change.

You WILL make it through the day, then the week, then the month, etc., and you are going to see those numbers heading in the right direction!

Meanwhile, and I am no expert by any stretch, but that seems pretty low cal even for needing to keep count?? Could that be contributing to stalls or even just making the path harder to stay on without straying?

Marylouise, you've lost more than half of your body weight, more than a whole person, more than I weigh right now! All of that excess skin has weight, too, maybe 20 pounds or more? (experts, please make this accurate if you can??) and maybe it isn't so healthy or safe to keep forcing more weight off of your main body when it thinks its at its ideal point?

Oh, and you are sooooo right on white meat of poultry! The dark and the skin are by far the best. Is there anything food-wise we don't agree on besides your odd and bewildering preference for melted cheese?

Marylouise, i think its because it was breakfast time, who knows when you work 18 hours your brain goes wack i guess lol. The chicken was great, i did not feel like boiled eggs this morning after yesterday beings i had boiled them all and had planned on grocery shopping yesterday so heading to the store today. Im the type of person who can look at food and gain, between being in menopause and my thyroid always off it comes on too easy.

Can I join?

Hi there everybody, I'm looking to join a good supportive group. When my manbear and I moved here in Northern California we both gained weight. Its cooler here and we don't know a lot of people so we just kind of sat on our behinds eating the time away. His diabetes is out of control and I put on a few pounds and don't feel as good as I use to. So we thought we'd try Atkins again. Atkins 72 sounds like a good one. We're both 58 years old, actually we're 15 minutes apart in age. It's much harder the older we get. There's lots of redwoods and coastline here and I love to walk and hike. So I'll be doing a lot of that. Anyway, I'll be hanging out and looking forward to getting to know you all.

Today is better. Had a .2 lb loss, and I'll take that ... I am not giving up. WHY?

Because I feel good, my sugars are almost consistently in the 80's and 90's ... I am aiming for that magical 75 and can't wait for my HgbA1c to be redrawn in a couple of weeks.

My snug scrubs from last week are comfortable this week, so maybe I'm dropping inches.

I am happier, calmer and am not tired, sleep better, and never feel sick, bloated or have massive diarrhea (sorry TMI) all the time.

I LOVE THIS WOE!
