OK! 12 reasons to stay on plan:

1. To wake up each day and not worry about choosing clothes that fit-EVERYTHING will fit! The closet will be my candy store!
2. To not get heart disease/ that I'm sure I would get if I kept eating anything I wanted (have high blood pressure when i am overweight-in the 170's)
3. To show others that having control looks good and pays off!
4. To go to any event and be proud of the way I look
5. To keep my Mom happy (Yes it is for me but it makes her very happy when I am watching)
6. To wake up each morning and feel confident and good about myself and what I am doing-not being a failure.
7. Glutony is a sin in God's eyes and God please forgive me for being a gluton at times in my life
8. I want to eat to live not live to eat. (My dad, God rest his soul, would say that to me all the time!)
9. I want to know that I will have normal blood pressure each time that I get it checked
10 I want to flush my body of toxins and fat cells that have ruined my body and created more fat cells
11. Have more energy and not feel like a huge pile of carb garbage!
12. Stay on low carb friends so I don't ever abandon my extended "family" (THAT'S ALL OF YOU, YOU KNOW!)

Kathy do yo remember the list he had out in the late 60s. It is on part 1 of this thread. Do you need for me to go get it. I don't mind. I will go get it. Hold on....

I found this on LCF. Someone else posted it. I have searched for this list for many years!!

This is the way I lost 17 pounds in 1972. I lost 17 pounds in two weeks!!
I am very serious about this. This is the list our doctor gave my dad in 1972, before Dr. Atkins book came out "Dr. Atkins' Diet Revolution".

ON THIS DIET YOU MUST TAKE A MULTIPLE VITAMIN AND MINERAL CAPSULE!

FOODS

Meat (except liver and liver sausage)
Fish (except wine sauce herring)
Seafood (except oysters)
Poultry (nothing to be breaded or floured,
No BBQ sauce or catsup)
Eggs (fixed any way)
Natural Cheese (with wax around)
(No cottage cheese, processed or yogurt)
Butter
Fat
Salt/Pepper and other seasonings/read very carefully, look 4 hidden sugar.
Artificial Sweetners
Mustard & Horseradish
Mayonnaise * I am going to make my own.
Sour Cream Dressing *
Low Calorie Dressing * w/no sugar
Mushrooms (1T)
Beef or Chicken boullion broth
(No other soups)

*These items contain 2 cal. Of sugar per Tablespoon – DO NOT use excessively
** If desired as often as listed

Fried Pork Rinds (can be used as breading)
Sugar Free Gum (NO sugar free candy or other dietetic foods)
Cool Whip topping *
D-Zerta Jello and D-Zerta topping
Plain Knox Gelatin and sugar free kool-aid (mix together to make jello)
1C of lettuce (twice a day) **
NO OTHER VEGETABLES
NO FRUIT


BEVERAGES

Water (1/2 your weight in oz.)
Sugar Free Soda
Sugar Free Kool-Aid
Black Coffee and tea
Hard Liquor: (NO wine except dry vermouth, NO apricot brandy, drambouye, Southern Comfort, Liquorers)
NO regular beer
Lite Beer OK – Micholob Lite or Miller Lite

We were talking about red meat helping ppl lose faster....I had to eat cheap one month last year. My weight loss slowed down to a crawl that month. Red meat helps me lose faster.

Ok! I want to say this to you and everyone on the challenge!!! I am embarrassed for posting those clouds because I understand now what the difference is between DADR and DANDR-this has been a learning experience and I am ashamed of myself!!! I never really knew there was a change because my book looked so old and yellow!! Are you all going to forgive me for making such a stupid mistake!!

MaryLouise.................I get it!!! I get it now!!! YOU taught me something!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!! I love you and I get it!!!!!! I am soooo happy--the low carb light is on!!!!!!!

we are! Burning calories gabbing

Got a few wet flakes mixed in with the rain. No snow on the ground. Niece up in Brookville area got 7 inches.

some reasons to lose 12 pounds - didn't come up with all twelve yet.

1. So i can see my feet again.
2. So i can paint the toes on my feet without losing my breath!
3. So i can enjoy more physical activities with my 7 and 11 month old children!
4. So I can fit back into half of my closet. Yes i still have some of the next size down from when i was thinner. 12 pound would get me there
5. So i live long enough to fit into them
6. So i can finally post a weight loss
7. So one day i can actually eat some strawberries or even a slice of cake and know it won't hurt me....meaning i will go right back on plan because by then this woe will be ground into my head!

5. I like getting out of bed feeling pretty good in the morning and not stiff and in pain.

8. Great blood work results! Great blood pressure! *Now to get the thyroid, etc. to great!
9. Being able to "share" a seat with DGS
10.few, almost none, migraines!
11.not fearing running into old friends that I haven't seen in a long time. Hoping to run into old boyfriends and crushes....just to "rub it in!"
12.not knowing people are saying "See, it doesn't work. She regained too!" not giving naysayers that satisfaction!

1. I don't want DH to need another hernia operation when he lifts me
2. I secretly like that he is always picking me up now and want it to continue, except when he tries to dunk me in the pool!

5. I like getting out of bed feeling pretty good in the morning and not stiff and in pain.

OK! 12 reasons to stay on plan:

1. To wake up each day and not worry about choosing clothes that fit-EVERYTHING will fit! The closet will be my candy store!
2. To not get heart disease/ that I'm sure I would get if I kept eating anything I wanted (have high blood pressure when i am overweight-in the 170's)
3. To show others that having control looks good and pays off!
4. To go to any event and be proud of the way I look
5. To keep my Mom happy (Yes it is for me but it makes her very happy when I am watching)
6. To wake up each morning and feel confident and good about myself and what I am doing-not being a failure.
7. Glutony is a sin in God's eyes and God please forgive me for being a gluton at times in my life
8. I want to eat to live not live to eat. (My dad, God rest his soul, would say that to me all the time!)
9. I want to know that I will have normal blood pressure each time that I get it checked
10 I want to flush my body of toxins and fat cells that have ruined my body and created more fat cells
11. Have more energy and not feel like a huge pile of carb garbage!
12. Stay on low carb friends so I don't ever abandon my extended "family" (THAT'S ALL OF YOU, YOU KNOW!)
