Over the past 6 months I tried doing induction, on and off, by staying below 20 carbs using Linda's low carb site. I love her recipes, I think we have the same palette. I'd lose 5 lbs then stall.

So after several failed attemps at that, I decided to go back to basics and I found you. It's great to have someone who is doing it my way. Ever tell someone you are dieting and they give all kinds advice about how you should be doing it. Why can't people just support the way I want to do it.

I've past the 5 lb hurdle

Looking forward to passing 10 lbs....2.2 lbs to go

My keto strip is purple (moderate) I use that to judge if I'm on the right track. It's been that way for 4 days.

Looking forward to melting. (really don't think it's that funny but I love the smilie )

Now that i have gotten it out of my system for awhile I get to eat cheese again tomorrow and steak to lose weight. So nice to know I don't have to starve after a cheat day like I used to have to do.
From what i see online already all my results were inbetween the low and high. My Dr. said i would hear from here regardless so i'll let you know. Also, have thyroid checked all the time. Everything good so far.

Haha,

DANDR = Dr.Atkins New Diet Revolution.

72, OR DADR = Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution.

I'd like to think he republished because he got new information and wanted to revamp his book to the next generation of dieters come along. He realized that cream cheese and macadamia nuts were good tools in the fat catagory. Cream cheese allowed much better recipes and allowed the creation of the famous Oopsies. He had more case studies to represent his work, and more data as well. His most recent book is the one that has the most change, from fatty meats to lean meats, because of peer pressure. I didn't think DANDR had so much compromise as the later books did, once people started taking him seriously but still doubting. Eventually people tried to turn Dr. Atkins Diet into the Low Carb/Low Fat/Low Calorie, and that was Not his intentions. There are plenty of those diets around already.

Hi Metqa, I have a little different view than this.

Dr. Atkins did receive so much flack from his first book he did make changes in hopes more would at least try the diet. His last book was not written by him, at all. I read it. I read the writers saying he had planned that book. I am sorry but I say bull dookie. I would have grown very old on nany trying to lose weight. I lost 5 pounds on nany.

Oh I am sure if you stay on that nany long enough, you will lose weight on it.
And as far as DANDR it is a good WOE, but you will lose slower.
I think DANDR will be a good plan for me when I reach my goal. I am really at the first goal I set for myself. A doctor told me once to not to try to go lower than 150. He said because I have been so heavy my body will not ever go any lower than that. I dont know about this. I wish I could ask Dr. Atkins...

I am not trying to make myself sound like a know it all. I know very little. One thing I know is I want to lose weight as fast as my body will let me...

I did not eat off plan. I did put a lot of salt on my fish. I knew it was over salted but I had to eat it! Sitting in the boat for 2 days was hard on me too. I had a gallon bucket I use but I only did it when I was about to pop! Kins of hard peeing in front of sons :-)

I am glad you found me too! Thin I cant lose unless I am as low carb biologically as possible. Eggs are a big part of my diet.

I eat meat eggs and cheese. I do sometimes eat a green bean. I can't eat too many green things or berries. I want lose and my blood sugar will go UP!

I am trying to repair my body, so I can add other foods. I may not be able to do this without a sugar pill. I just don't know yet. I do know if I was to go off my plan I would blow up like a, you know what!

No not really. The first day the sun was so very hot, it is a wonder I didn't get burnt. I went out with shorts and long pants. Had on a tee shirt long sleeve shirt and a coat! Had to take a layer off at a time. I am browner today. It is so easy for me to turn brown!

I do think because I held water I gained water weight, because of the peeing problem.
