Congratulations Brittany. You must be so happy.

I'm gonna stick with this challenge until I lose 12. Then I'll happily join the next challenge.

Pink Swan good luck with your new plan. I don't imagine that it is Atkins friendly with butter, meat and eggs all strictly rationed during the war.

Good morning to all.
Marylouise, I know that you will be 120 soon. That is where I want to be, too.
Congrats, Brittany
Haven't weighed yet today since it is so early. Stayed on program yesterday with fried fish, large salad and pumpkin cheesecake. Going to put some ribs in the crockpot this morning.
Have a great day, everyone.

I won't be using food from the 1940s. I think that stuff would be well beyond it's shelf life. I will just be using regular foods from the grocers....eggs, meat, fats, fish, vegetables, etc. Some of them will simply be in wartime ration allowances. I have found a few blogs/vlogs where other people have done this and one lady has lost almost 100 pounds and is still losing because she has a little over 50 pounds to get to her goal.

It is higher carb and yes butter, meat and eggs are rationed. I will have to get used to having smaller amounts of those things each week and get used to eating more vegetables. I'm also going to have to use substitutions for some things like using fresh eggs instead of the allowed powdered eggs, butter instead of the allowed margarine and I won't be using the sugar they recommend so I will have to think about what I can substitute for that. Maybe organic honey. I will also be using gluten free bread instead of the wholemeal bread that was recommended. This is 2012 after all and we have those things widely available.

I am going to look forward to creating some ingenious vegetable dishes with my crockpot as well as using a lot of the wartime recipes I found on the internet. Should be a fun experiment.

Congrats Brittany!!! Wow, that was FAST!!!
This week of TOM threw me for a week of no loss, actually some gain. I'm up 2.2lbs since the beginning of the challenge. I am beginning to feel restricted with this WOE so I'm not sure if I'm going to keep doing '72. I still like coming here so you won't see the last of me.

Down another # this morning so have changed my weight on here. Hope that is okay. I am going to keep going until I get to my goal of 120 - 125 since I am 5'1". Blood sugar is 81 this morning so this is really agreeing with me this time around.
Today's menu will consist mostly of beef ribs, salad and pumpkin cheesecake.
Have a great day,
Hope

Marylouise. Found this one - is it the one you are looking for?

1 egg, beaten well
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbs. heavy cream or half/half or CC milk
2 Tbs. cocoa
10 tsp. of sweetener of your choice (this time I added 5 packets of Splenda)
1 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbs. softened butter

In a small bowl, beat egg with fork and add in the rest of the ingredients until
a smooth batter is formed.

Pour into a cup which will hold 8 ounces. You could use a coffee mug..I Pammed it..Microwave for one minute..

The carb count would depend on the sweetener. You could use Davinici syrup..I don't think it would affect the texture of the cake..But, without the sweetener, you would have .7 carb for the egg and 2 NET carbs for the cocoa powder..About 3 net carbs in all..then add the sweetener carbs.

I've lost 6 pounds since the last week. I am a runner so today I am running a lot and having a carb cheat day. Then tomorrow it is back on track. I love Atkins. It works. The head thing I have a problem with is knowing that all this fat is "okay". It scares me and I dwell on what my arteries are looking like but then I aske myself "if I am losing fat I must not be collecting it in my veins, right?"

I understand the head thing completely. I went from a low fat low calorie diet back to ATkins. It takes a while to say....eat that whole 12 oz steak! don't make it the size of my fist. LOL. I just had all my labs done at the dr. I figured i was there for something else and to make sure cholesterol etc. didn't take a big jump from when i was last tested. This helps with peace of mind. I still find myself posting on here....i think i might lower my calories and then i say what are you doing! just eat til you are satisfied and at least 5xs a day STAY ON PLAN AND I KNOW IT WORKS. We can do this!

Loving the Scale!

The scale said 189.0 this morning

I broke through the decade mark

Only 29 to go to reach my goal! I have these beautiful black slacks that I wore last year and look forward to wearing again.

My son's birthday is May 15, that is the day that is keeping me staying on plan.

Round Two: Beat MaryLouise Challenge

Weigh in Monday (so MaryL. can have a big birthday Splurge and then recover if she wants to. Her birthday is tomorrow.

We can all devise our Plans to beat her. For all on different plans, I know for a fact MaryL. doesn't care what woe, just kick those pounds to the curve. Remember, I'm on the Hybrid Diet. But once the winner was declared I slipped off plan. So this challenged has really helped me stay on plan. Monday also give me a goal to aim for with my start weight. I'd like to solidify at 160. Then breach that wall into 150. Yinz in? :hugs :
