![]() ![]() ![]() I love being able to look at my mama everyday now. She went to be with God Oct. 26, 2004. I miss her so badly. Mama my heart aches for you. She would be very happy for me. Hi ML, I did have oysters but I just wanted plain, roasted, in the shell....w a splash of hot sauce, of course. But we went to an overpriced restaurant and I ordered oysters florentine, which happend to be the safest. They were served on bagette toasts which was not a big deal since I could just fork them off, but the bread did soak up some of the sauce.
Now that I know, next time I will request that they be left in the shell and just sauced. We did hear of a restaurant that has every type of seafood prepared in every manner so will go there next time. That area is big oyster harvesting so should never be a problem. We used to buy a big bag of them in shells and just throw 'em on the grill....the best!! Clouds are one of the best legal sweets besides bark. I like to keep them in the freezer. You can add any flavor....lemon is yummmm. Linda Sue has chocolate mint chip, I think. ML, it is time to stop stressing about the ice cream. Forward is always the best direction. I know you'll have a whoosh soon.

I don't know how almond milk would work in bark since the oil would separate, wouldn't it! Clouds, I like to make two tone fruity- Lemon and Pomegranate/strawberry/raspberry ...Yellow and Pink! For the Bon Bons, I make it caramel flavor and dip it into cocoa bark syrup! I made mint chocolate, but it was too intense for me! ![]() |

My mama and me in 2002 at at least 280. Looks to me like over 300! I stopped weighing. I had thought this was taken in 2003. I was wrong. It was Christmas 2002. 2003 is the year I lost down to 148. I weighed 148 for about 8 hours.
THIS is why it is so important for me to weigh everyday! I can gain 5 to 7 pounds a week!!! My mama had been told she had lung cancer. She died Oct. 16 2004 at 11:46p. I cooked everything she loved and I ate it with her. That was the result of the WOE I was doing with my mama. Okay I have enough pictures to remind me I NEVER EVERwant to do that again! If I do I will DIE! In 7 days I will be 61 years old. Too old to do this again and too young to die, because I am too fat to live ![]() |

Metqa are you not in maintenance? You look like you are in a very good zone. I hope I don't sound too nosy. The way I did the math you are 12 pounds from goal. Gee you could reach goal in this challenge! I am slow. THIS just now became apparent to me!

Oh, I guess even HWC has too much water for bark.
I made caramel flavored bark by using a packet of Splenda for Coffee: caramel flavor. It comes in Caramel, Mocha, Hazelnut and something else. I also made macadamia nut bark by mixing some macadamia nut butter into the oil instead of cocoa powder and sweetening it. I've also made a buttery cocoa bark by using half coconut oil, half ghee. ETA: I'm "maintaining" my current weight, in that I'm trying not to gain back the weight I lost from gaining from taking steroids last year. I could be lower. I had gotten down to 118 before and was happy there for a few months, then I got sick from black mold and gained alot of weight while cleaning it up. I've been stuck at 134-5 for a while. and I'm short, very short, so it's too much for me, so I need to reduce to keep my knees and feet from hurting. But Vanity drives my motives more than anything cause I hate the belly I gained. It keeps me from wearing my work slacks and I've a whole closet of pants I can't button! ![]()

Friday the l3th is my lucky day -- I was born on Friday the l3th, on this Friday the l3th I have finally lost one pound after only five days of trying, and I have a lottery ticket that ends in l3, so I fully expect that tomorrow I will wake up and find that I have turned into a skinny millionaire.
Day 5 of the Challenge - 170 Hope we're all a bunch of losers this weekend (except for my lottery ticket of course). Pat |

I'm in Ontario, Canada and I had slept earlier in the evening. I laid down at 7 pm and slept straight through until 1:30 am. Woke up, went to the washroom and was wide awake after that. 4:38 a.m. here at the moment.

Good morning ladies, happy Friday!!
Well I lost 0.8 from my cheat on Wednesday putting me at 168.4. This seems to be a stall point for me so hopefully I can take some advice from Kathy too and drink plenty of water today!! Beautiful pic of you and your mom MaryLouise. My heart goes out to others who have lost their mother and/or father. She is very proud of you!!Gibbs~I understand how hard it is to pull yourself out and get back on track. Just imagine yourself looking and feeling better, take it one day at a time vs.looking at the big picture. Commit for one day and go from there. Before you know it, days will have passed and you're back in the groove again. Keep coming and posting..we'll be here to cheer you on!! ![]() Thanks for the recipes...they look good! I'm going through PMS now so this is perfect timing. |

Good morning to all and happy Friday. I have been away a lot this week. I tried to send this in the long form, but it told me that my message is too short. What is going on with that?????
Thank you, Marylouise, for the hugs and hugs back to you. Glad you are back on track and have put the past behind. Love the picture of you and your mother. I know how you feel since mine is no longer with me either. No change in the scale today, but I'm not surprised because I haven't gotten into this yet and have been eating too much. Sorta "dragging my tail" so to speak. Right things, but too much of it. Am going to do eggs today and hopefully get things moving. Have a great Friday, Hope |

I don't know how many of you have a Kindle, but Mssarge posted on the Golden Years thread about a free download "The No-Carb Revolution" by John McClean. I downloaded it this morning and it is a good read, and you can't beat free. I'm going off now to find a sunny table in front of the sea and continue reading it with a coffee.

Hi MaryLouise and all the members. I have been following your challenge. Hugs to those struggling, you will get there, and smiles to those losing.
ML did you read the article from Dr. Mercola about the chicken jerky treats for pets? You got me started with his forum and I really follow it . I just bought a truckload full of the chicken jerky on Amazon. I may have to get rid of them. My dog loves them too. Also can you give me info on the CO treats. You can use unsweetened chocolate on our plan? How many can you eat a day? Are they considered 0 carbs? I can't have any ice cream or the A bars in my house. Don't agonize over it. Slips happen. I slip once in a great while. It actually refocuses me. I had a slip last Sat. Yesterday, I went out to eat at a buffet with friends. It was Mexican food. I ate some salad, fresh shrimp and turkey. They tried to get me to eat a piece of sugar free cake but resisted it. I wasn't even tempted. I think the slip last Sat had satisfied my sweet tooth. I am able after a year to get back on track the next day and keep going. It is hard always trying to avoid non Atkins Plan food. With all the weight you have lost and maintained you will be fine. ML I am with you on missing my Mom. It will be two years in Oct and I still struggle with the loss. I love the pic of you and your Mom. I have pics of my mom in every room and I know she is always with me. Sadly she never saw me thin. She was always worried about my weight. Kathy, my DH loves oysters, I have only eaten them fried. You are brave. Thank you to those who welcomed me into the fold. I need info on pork rinds. Can you eat them limitlessly? I have actually never tried them, but I know you have to watch for added sugar. To those who weigh daily, remember your weight can fluctuate so hang in there it will come off. I splurged and bought a fryer today. I hope to try frying fish and other things to avoid the same old same old. Everyone have a great day. You guys post so much and so fast this old lady can't keep up but I do read the forum daily. Linda Boca Today is my youngest daughter's birthday. She is 30, but they say 30 is the new 20. She is running a 5K on Sunday to help celebrate. ML can you email me the recipe for the candy? I may make only small batches so I don't binge on it.
