Make sure you are consuming enough fat and not eating any low-fat versions of typical "atkins friendly" products.

NOTHING should EVER be "low fat" on this diet. That's a pretty common mistake that beginners make. It goes against everything you have heard about fat being bad.

If you are eating full fat products, make sure you are not eating a ridiculous amount of calories.

If it's none of those things, then post back in here and we will figure this out.

Good luck!

I lost 4 lbs. last week and just gained 1 back. The hell? I'm hoping it's just water retention or something. Last time I did this I lost steadily so I'm guessing something has changed in my metabolism or something since then. GRRR.

It takes a LOT of calories to make your body store a pound of fat, so you can be certain that it's fluids. Could be related to sodium or other chemicals, or maybe hormones.

My theory is water in causes water OUT, so drink several hefty glasses full for the next few days and see if that doesn't help.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I may have had some too-salty bacon or something.
