I would think it's all dependent on what you find you lose weight best on. I usually aim for the macros of 70/20/10, which is fat/protein/carbs, respectively. Today I was 73/17/10, which added up to be 130g fat/69g protein/29g carbs. I keep my fat up around 65-70% cause it keeps me full and satisfied. My protein usually falls between 60-100g.

Thanks... I am watching my proteins a little better and trying to keep it under 100 now... I'll see how that works for me.

No, it's not necessarily too much, but it is quite dependent on your body type. For example, I am a 6'2" male and have quite a lot of muscle on my frame and lift weights daily, so my protein needs will be greater than yours. If you do not lift weights on a routine and do not possess a lot of muscle mass, then that may be limiting your weight loss results. Remember that protein converts to glucose at a much higher rate than fat.

Thanks.. I do not work at with weights now.. I used to daily but that was the first time around on Atkins back in 2000. I'm keeping the proteins under 100 g a day and I'm losing so I guess I've got it balanced pretty good now. Thanks that was helpful information... I know I read something about protein working like carbs if you ate too much... it's just hard to get used to thinking that I need to cut back on protein and increase fat.
