Hello there,
I'm new to this forum and would very much like to join this challenge - I spent good few hours reading many of the Atkins72 posts here and Cheryl's plan and I'm ready to go. I'm Sharn and I've been doing DANDR on and off since 2004. The lowest weight I achieved was 178 (where I got told off for doing a Nicole Richie,) but I really want to go down to 140. In any case, I started DANDR again, and I only lost (I say only - it's better that a WW result for me) 7lb in 2 weeks. I've been looking over my food diaries and I can't believe how many Atkins bars I was eating. Like 3 a day! And then having 100ml of extra thick double cream on raspberries. On induction. *shakes head* Anyhoo, it's time to get serious, so I'm aiming to sticking to Atkins 72 until July 1st where I have to go to a conference out of town, where I'll try to do regular induction. Anyway, I talk too much! Thanks SJ |

Thank you for starting the June thread. I am happy to report that I ended May 5lbs less than I started. I had hoped for a greater loss for the month, but I did go off plan so I am happy for my 5.

OK, I'm here. May- well didn't lose any. sooooo...hoping I can get back on track for June.
Today, I'm at 194. Goal - to stay cheat free, and be under 190 by end of the month. Get back in to exercising 3 times a week. Oh yeah, and drink my water. |

Good luck everyone.
Man I'm suffering with induction flu badly today. I've been LCing for 17 days, but officially switched to '72 two days ago. I hope it's induction flu and not swine flu. |

I would like 16 for the month too, but I will take 10. I love 72. The rules are easy. Just eat clean. |

I want 17... like I did my first 30 days.
Since I've been bad and off-plan lately, it will be like starting over! ![]() ![]() I've hired a business coach for my work; one of the personal things she is going to do is hold me accountable for is sticking to 72 Atkins. I am hoping it will be one more motivational aspect (since so many of the other ones aren't working right now) ![]() |

Thanks for the welcome missbaggypants - your profile pic is great - you've done amazingly well.
Good stuff chubbyunicorn, i'll support you! Divine Health - so it it is possible to lose that much in a month! Whoo!! Also, are we counting from today or from the start of June as I'm 4lbs done from them. God bless Dr. Atkins. Good luck with your business coach - i hope it helps to have someone to answer to. My boyfriend normally takes that role for him, and he's been pretty good so far - he knows how important it is for me to get the weight off. Again! SJx |

I have, but not very consistently. When I notice my fingernails are getting weak, then I try to remember to take vitamins.
Maybe you can get some extra sleep?? The brain fog/headache is the worst for me, and sleep seems to help me get through it. Thanks about the picture. I get discouraged because I would like to have lost so much more than 30some pounds in 3 years. But the picture shows part of the story, and I am glad I don't look (and feel) like that anymore. I was about 225 in January, and felt like cr@p. So I know that I have to do atkins forever, and for weight loss, must do as strict as I can. At least I've kept off about 30 of the pounds. Unicorn - 5 lbs loss is great. If you keep that up that's 60 in a year. My DD7 weighs 60lbs! (I would love a 5 lb loss this month...) Hey divine...maybe you can share some of the butt-kicking from your trainer! I need some serious accountability. menu so far today: 2 eggs, 1T butter HWC & coffee 1 oz cheese, 1 small overcooked hamburger patty 1 cup ricotta cheese with almond and stevia supper - grilled hamburgers and asparagus

Hey all,
Just trying to get through TOM right now. Six pounds down in three weeks for me, but hoping for a whooshie soon to get into the 220's. Then I want to get out of the 220's and never see them again, but probably that won't happen until July. Maybe I should make a July 4th goal of 219. What the heck, think I will! Independence from fat day. Still on induction level, but occasionally I have three nuts or something on that level just because if I am too perfect I get bored. Glad you're all hanging in there too. ![]() |

I started today!
A few days behind but I'm so disgusted with myself and I think the "clean" version of Atkins is the way for me to go. No LC processed products for me.....meat/salad/eggs/cheese and that's it!

Oh man, I ate 5 choc chip Atkins Morning Start bars yesterday. A whole box.
I'm blaming it on my weak resolve, and PMS. the fact that the carbs were still under 20g makes me feel better, even though I know that makes no real sense! Starting again today. |

Heya,
I am also doing the 72' plan and would like to join. I have been at this (again) for almost two weeks and I have lost 6 pounds. (Dealing with hormones this week). I know I can have great success with this and would love to be able to connect with others doing the same diet. Most people dont get Atkins nevermind 72'. By that I mean family and friends. So what is the challange? I know mine is to be 167 by June 29th. Last edited by sunnierunner; 06-08-2009 at 05:36 AM.. |

my challenge
My challenge is to stay on plan and eat clean for June, or close to it. For example this weekend I went to the movies. Instead of eating popcorn and candy, I brought macadamia nuts and 85% cocoa bar. Was it induction? No. But for 6 carbs, I had a snack that kept me under 13 carbs for the day and I lost a lb for the weekend. Little, tiny victories.
And hello to all in the June thread. |

congrats claudia on your 10 and good luck on your 40.
I have been floating between a 5 lb range for the last 2 months. I would lose up to 5 and then gain it back up until that 5. I finally broke through this morning. It's only one lb but I hope that it means that the 5 lb range that I was stuck in is gone. |

I'm bumming today....
![]() About 3 weeks ago I went back to really being religious and lost 6# in 4 days! (Of course, I gained 3 of those back lately, dang it.) But, they came off so nicely by just doing it right. So I started back again Sunday - no carbs, no wine. Monday I was down only .6 pound, yesterday down .4 and today .8..... so only 1.8#. Very discouraging, since last time I did 6 whole pounds in 4 days... but I am going to keep on going.I am having a surprise 50th bday party for my husband on Sunday and I would like to have at least a semi-flat stomach!! ![]() I am leaving in 2 1/2 weeks to visit my son and daughter-in-law in Michigan, and I would really like to be in my next size down jeans, which I think I can do...... IF I stick to it.

Love those numbers Divine! I'm going to see a friend for her 40th in two weeks and I'm trying to see where I end up. A size smaller pants wouldn't upset me either.

So ive been bouncing around trying to do different plans thinking something would work. i did 72 about 8 years ago and lost 70 lbs. kept it off for 5 years or so and let myself go while prego. my youngest son will be 3 in november...tired of being fat. something clicked the 1st of june. I must do 72, its what works for me. I tried to deny this, trying to keep all those lovely extras i thought i deserved that all those other people can eat. i was truly scared to let go, scared to start this battle to get me back. now that ive started, actually by the end of day one, i realized and remembered how very easy this can be...how much more in control i am. i am a binger. i've never admited it before. i would hide food in my car, eat when noone else was around, and leave for lunch at work so i could pig out in my car and no one would know. it was sad. i was sad.
well i no longer wake up at night and eat, wake up from a nap and eat, come home from work and head for the fridge. i just eat my meals and not even eat all of it. my life is in turmoil now, going thru a breakup. i can still do this and live the rest of my life a thin and healthy and happy person. someone that doesnt have to constantly think about my weight and size but think about the needs of my children and what i may do on those occasional free nights i have with my friends and ofcourse whatever nice dates i may go on ha ha. it will take me a few months but when i think back on this journey to get me back it will just be a blip and a nice little reminder of what i know now i am capable of. i appreciate this forum and respect the struggles of the people on here. this place is a great comfort to me. i know i dont post much, but my heart is truly in it. well my journey started june 1st and when i weighed the 8th i was down 7.5lbs. im gona check in every monday to post my losses. thanks everyone. |
