New Here - Already Lost 50lbs

Hi Everyone

I'm new here and new to Atkins. I've already lost 50lbs, however I'll admit I did it the WRONG WAY! I've decided to adopt the lowcarb lifestyle, and I'm very excited about it!

I started induction today. I have a question, hopefully someone can help me here. I'm feeling guilty about eating. I was basically starving myself before, so I can't wrap my head around the idea that eating will allow me to lose weight. Did anyone struggle with this?

Also, does anyone have a success story they'd share with here, for some extra encouragement.

Thanks ... XO

You will feel guilty at first if you are not used to eating that way but when you see the weight coming off you will realize it is ok. You will do great if you stick to it!! I have been dieting off and on from the age of 12 and i am 21 now, the only real success I have ever had is with atkins, I went from 312 lbs to 269 and counting down and thats just in the past couple of months. Good luck! Stick to it and it will work wonders you will have tons of energy and motivation as long as you can get through the first few days.

When you eat protein, it really keeps you from feeling hungry. Eat when you' re hungry and you will do just fine.. Congrats and keep it up!

Hi Ericka,
Congrats on your 50-pound loss however you did it.

For inspiration I like to go to the section on this board where people share their success stories. Some folks have lost hundreds of pounds low-carbing. Sometimes it makes me cry with joy for them when I read their stories.

My advice for you is thus: Seize the day, and keep your momentum going. Don't stop until goal. If you go off plan, just get right back on with no guilt. I say this because sometimes the loss slows down as your body adapts to low-carbing. This is a very good thing for when you are maintaining on a lifetime way of eating (WOE), but distressing when you're still in ongoing weight loss. I piddled and diddled around for years going on and off plan and now I really regret it because the loss is very slow.

You are so right about staying on track. I have been Lowcarbing for years also and its true If you piddle and diddle in things it is very slow to come off cause your body does adapt to it......
Congrates to ya on your loss.
