WAS IN KETOSIS, NOW I'M NOT..HELP!

I am soo frustrated I'm about ready to give up! I have been doing atkins or low carb since Feb. Just recently joined this forum and realized I've been eating wrong. SO I revamped my meal plan on Sunday 4-26 and began to eat strictly only protein and fat. NO carbs hardly at all.

Monday I was in ketosis...and now today I am barely. And I have not lost a pound! I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm very upset. I'll just post my menu as of Monday.

B-Eggs with cheese, and 3 bacon, coffee with cream and splenda
S-deviled eggs
L-Chicken salad, with mayo and lettuce

Tues
B- eggs and bacon, coffee with cream and splenda
s-deviled eggs
L-chicken salad
D-scrambled eggs with cheese

Wed
B chicken with homemade ranch dressing, coffee with cream n splenda
L tuna with mayo n cheese
D Chicken with some cream cheese and pepperoni
s-deviled eggs

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? why does losing weight have to be so d*mn hard!!

Loree.... i can see no one has responded to your post... you would probably have more responses in the main lobby...

I dont see anything wrong with your menu... some people may say to cut out the dairy... i did and started losing again... Is TOM paying a visit? that may be a factor as well...

First thing to wonder about is, are your ketosticks fresh or have you left them open or was the cap loose recently?

When I am in ketosis and I get PMS my sticks are a little less purple and I stay at the same weight. Then once I get my period I lose a lot of water weight.

It sounds like you're menu is good. Depending on your portions you might need a little more food.

When I'm not losing sometimes I cook a chuck roast and I have shredded meat scrambled in my eggs instead of bacon. You can salt it to taste and it's still much less salt than most bacon. Sometimes the salt in the bacon keeps me from having that awesome water elimination that ketosis gives me when I first go into it.

I'm no expert but I'm looking at your meals and I think they look really good (and they are making me hungry ). For me, that would be an ideal menu for deep ketosis - as always though, everyone is different. Some will suggest that you try cutting the dairy; I guess if you're really sensitive to that it might make a difference.

But I think the more likely cause is what Zerotolow said - are your sticks any good? Maybe try getting a new bottle. Also, are you drinking tons of water? Drinking lots of water is of course recommended but it can also dilute to the point that the sticks don't turn - it's happened to me several times.

Anyways, I hope you find a solution. It could be that you're just one of those people who don't turn the sticks purple. Maybe give it another week and check your weight/inches lost?

I thought it didn't matter if your sticks were deep purple or light, ketosis is ketosis, AND you don't even have to BE in ketosis to lose. Don't stress about the sticks, they're just a tool! You seem like you are doing GREAT!

In the past, I seldom have shown even mild ketosis, though my carb count is only 5-10 grams. Just follow the scale and your measurements. I don't even own any Ketostix............
