Hey Kristina - I guess we're the only ones here today. I like to post me menu before I eat, so that's my plan for the day. Whatever works for you is fine.

it's Monday...ugh.
Hello, all. Started out the day very early...taking son's roommate to a scheduled outpatient surgery (son doesn't drive, so "Mom" is called for this kind of help a couple of times a year...which is o.k., cuz she drives son all over the rest of the time.) She had carpel tunnel surgery, went well, but boy does that make for a long, long morning & up way too early...was gone from 5:20 this a.m. until almost 1:00 p.m. And came home zonked & took a nap. Now it's 4:20 & I can barely get moving. Oh, well.
Kim, hope the Atkins works for you...it's hard to get back on, but you're right, if you can get through the first few days, it does get easier. Hello Kristina...gotta love that appetite-suppression! Guess everyone else is trying the Wendy Chant cycling deal (?not sure on the name) I will be watching that with interest...anything that works! Had an Atkins-weekend myself (and today, too for that matter...it's easier to do Atkins on the run than Stillman's on the run!) Jumping back to Stillman's tomorrow. Hope to lose a couple more pounds before Chicago business trip in a couple of weeks!

Sounds like a tiring day! I see you did Atkins in 1978 too. That was my first time
IF I had not added carbs back in (too many, anyway) I would have stayed where I was I remember trying Stillman's at one time as well.... |

So started Atkins again...lost 14 lbs on Atkins induction from 12/27/2007-mid January, then stalled completely on Atkins with no cheats. No more gain, but no loss. Cut out all the artificial sweeteners, dairy products, caffeine...even eating clean as clean can be I still did not lose any more. So I started doing Stillman's induction in February for 5-10 days at a time. And I lose on Stillman's. But it's very boring & tasteless. So when I can't stand it anymore, I do Atkins '72 induction for a day or three (fatty meats, small salads, a little cream.) So Atkins is my "cheat" days...I stop losing, but at least I don't gain on those days, either, and the knowledge I can switch it up every now & then makes it possible to stay on Stillman's. So, that's what I'm doing...it's the only thing that works at this point! |

Shala - water aerobics is great - what a workout. you may not want to go to the track afterwards. You're right, there are a lot of posts going on over there. It's hard to keep up.

Hey Gals! Thought I would pop in and say hello!!!
I'm on Day 2 of my first Cycle with Crack the Fat Loss Code - which is the Carb Deplete thing - basically a cross between '72 and Stillman's in a way really. My highest weight over the weekend was all the way up to 221 ya'll!! Course I was pretty carbed up too - was just eating whatever, no plan. Anyway, back down to 215 today so that's good! That's still 7 pound ups from my 208 low though. I hope to get rid of most of that this week. ![]() Shala the Cycle 2 (for week 2) is slightly different in the book from what they published in the magazine. I guess for the magazine article they wanted to get the readers straight to the "good stuff" or something, so the magazine article week 2 is actually the book week 3. You'll see most everybody talking about the Book Week 2 on the other threads. The book week 2 just steps up slightly from Carb Deplete week - no sugary stuff, no alcohol and still some restrictions. The Book Week 3 is more liberal, less restrictive. Did I just totally confuse you? Cuz I think I did me?? ![]() Kim your menu sounds good and looks like you are back on track! I know it's mostly water weight from overdoing on the carbs, but still!!! ![]() Hey Brandi, Cathy, Ing, WenB and Kristina and all who I missed or are MIA!Miss everybody!! Hi, everyone...Kim & Brandi-you 2 doing Atkins or Mary's cycling deal? I hope that works for her (I'm confused just reading the posts...fraid I couldn't keep that one straight without a computer program telling me exactly what to do every day! Nagging me every step of the way, in other words!)
Probably why I can keep Stillman's straight--I only have to remember about 4 things I can eat. Mary, are you keeping a food diary or what to keep it straight?Wen, sounds like you're doing Atkins induction, too...how's it going for ya? Kristina, sounds like you're on track...way to go! Enjoy some of those tasty recipes for me, would ya...I wish I could do cream (Cream & cheese totally stalls me out every time...I have some on my occasional Atkins day, but those are always no-loss days. Darn it-I love dairy products ) Low fat cottage cheese just is not a tasty substitute for the good stuff. Oh well.Shala, I think I'd want to do the water aerobics after the track...especially if you're having the hot weather we're having! The water would feel mighty good after walk/run in the heat. |

What I'm puzzled about is the carb count on cream. It says 0 on the label (which probably means 1 maybe)
the way they always figure this stuff. Egg is listed as .5 carb per egg. So...my question is....can't we have unlimited cream? Wouldn't that be cool?! Strange you mention cream, I was just coming on to ask about it. I should ask in the main lobby too ![]() |

I do know it's wayyy too easy for me to totally "overdose" myself on it...I was always sorely disappointed when I actually measured 2 tbsp. into my coffee mug...seems like that just barely lightened it Unfortunately, my preference is probably more like 1/2 cream, 1/2 coffee Anyway, needless to say, I'd LOVE unlimited cream! But that's a lot of calories, too. I know some can eat as much Atkins-legal food as they want & don't have to limit calories, but that's never worked for me. Don't think my body knows the difference between "eat until you're satisfied" and "eat until you're stuffed!" But I'm sure that's one of the reasons I stall on dairy products...way to easy to consume 3-4000 cal. a day when I'm too-generously doling out the cream! ![]() We can dream, though... ![]() |

Things are going well. I'm not following induction to the absolute letter because I can't eat much (lap band surgery two years ago) and if I don't add extra cream, I won't get anywhere close to reaching an acceptable calorie count for the day.
I'm considering going and finding flax seed oil or extra virgin coconut oil to use instead. No cravings at all - I've also done a personal challenge to drink 3 liters of water a day. I have a 1.5 liter bottle and I managed to drink one before lunch, and I'm about 2/3 of the way through the second one. We'll see how I do tonight. |
