Morning my "Loser" Friends...

Feeling my age this morning... Did so much gardening and yard work this weekend, it hurts to walk, let alone type!

Mary, I took some pics of some of my flowers...will try to download and post when I get home tonight. Got all my veggies in, but will have to expand the bed as the squash tend to take over and I may have planted them a little too close. It was only around 70 degrees yesterday, but with the sun it felt a lot warmer. I was sweating a ton! Don't know how you southern gals get anything done outside with your heat and humidity!

I have a new favorite summertime drink of the NON-alcoholic kind...Pour club soda and your favorite fruity davinci flavor in a tall glass over ice! YUM...Very refreshing!

Well, it is migrant season in SW Michigan and our Medical Van is going out into the camps for the first time (since last summer) tonight. It is always a great experience and very humbling.. My staff on the van is the greatest and most committed we have in the organization!

So...long day for me today...Later!
Kath

PS...I'm back on induction (Day 4), so we are officially an Atkins 72 thread!

Hey Kathy! Would love to see your flowers because all of mine are fading already in this southern humidity. I did find a way to do dahlias though I think. That misting system I installed! The dahlias love it!

I tried to do some work outside over the weekend too, but you're right. It's awful here right now already! I PRAY we don't have any tropical weather to disrupt air conditioning for sure!

I've yet to get some fruity Da Vinci's. What are your favorites?

Oh and BTW.... I think I'm going to re-induct this week myself. I've been doing the 40% carbs so maybe dropping them will help me move the scale???? So I guess I'm planning to be an official '72er this week too!

I have banana, strawberry and cherry...My favorite is strawberry with banana...would also make a great sno-cone...

I bet your weight will really start to drop in the next few days! However, I hope you don't get the induction flu... I didn't get it this time, but I was only off for a few days. I think I went over (and NOT very '72 friendly) on my cheese yesterday. I got the deluxe american slices with 0 carbs and made some "cheese crackers"...I sprinkled some italian seasoning and garlic salt on them...YUM! I used them to dip into my hot chicken salad (with even more cheese!) But I was back down to 142.5 today! I am so close to my goal and would love to get there by the end of June (in time for vacation!).

So...let's make June a "losing" month! I'll help you and you help me!

Good morning ladies

I'm joining ya on the induction train today. Gotta get back into it or I'm going to explode. My body does not agree with a lot of carbs.. I've been really feeling it this weekend.

Catch up with you later...

Kathy, sounds like a deal!! I don't like the banana alone, so I need to get me some strawberry!! I would love to buy some of the SF snowcone flavors, like bubblegum and some of the others. Can you say BLUE TEETH??!! Oh and BTW... I know exactly what you mean about feeling your age. My legs get so stiff when I'm doing that up and down gardening stooping and all that when I get up from sitting after awhile that I feel like frankenstein trying to walk!!! My hubby seems to get a kick out of watching me too!

Kim, you too?? Alright!! We can all support each other. I really want to shake off some weight this month because I just fooled around so much last month that I totally backtracked.

I had an absolutely HORRIBLE weekend of eating. I was busy and so of course, didn't eat on my schedule or even any kind of plan! Saturday at the festival I had boiled shrimp for breakfast! Oh, for pete's sake!!

Then to top it off, I had that awful hormonal (or so I think) insatiable appetite thing going on. You know the one I mean, where you feel like you're going to eat everything in sight, yet nothing seems to satisfy your appetite and so of course you keep eating, and eating, and eating, and then of course you OVEREAT! Not that I ate anything all that bad but I can't even IMAGINE how many calories I consumed! No, I did NOT track them either!!

And of course after that, well at least with me, during these hormonal phases of the month, my digestive system becomes entirely sluggish, which means all of that food I've ingested just seems to sit on my stomach resulting in those nasty symptoms we all love (NOT!) so much - a perpetual sense of overfullness, gassiness, bloating - just downright miserable. Ugh. It is so not fair to be in throes of menopause and yet still have to go through the hormonal fluctuations and then this insatiable hunger thing every single month!!!!

Or is it just me???

All of that to say, I am going to reduce my carbs at least this week and see what happens. I forgot to weigh first thing so I don't even know what I weigh right now, but I'm guessing around 210. I'll weigh in the morning if I don't forget again. Kathy and Kim, I do have some things in the fridge that DH won't eat - yogurt, some fruit, cottage cheese, so I guess it's not going to be '72 or induction until I finish those things off, because with the cost of food I am NOT going to just throw it out. BUT, I'll kick down to basics until that stuff runs out, eliminate the grains and focus more on proteins this week and just use that stuff to fill in with my snacks until I get rid of it all.

Sooooo here's the meal plan for the day:

B: Two cups of coffee with cream and ST; two eggs scrambled in butter with 1/2 slice of deli ham chopped into them.
L: Grilled fish (tilapia and grouper, because I only have one filet of tilapia) topped with butter
D: Grilled sirloin topped with butter and a mixed garden salad
Snacks - will fill in snacks using the leftover yogurt, cottage cheese and fruit till they're gone!
Metamucil 3x, Multivitamin, Cal/Mag
Loads of water!

We'll see what happens!

Good Morning Ladies!!! Gee I've missed you guys!! I wasn't even gonna log in this morning because I wasn't planning on staying at work long, but just reading this mornings posts, motivated me!! I plan on INDUCTION again this week too!! It will have to be tomorrow though...I already blew it with a cherry Hostess pie!! And it didn't even taste good!!

I must be hormonal too!! I ate all weekend!!! I made ( EARMUFFS AND BLIND FOLDS!!!! ) Banana pudding and Lemon Meringue pie Saturday!! O that lemon pie is my favorite!! The DH and I raced to see who could eat the MOST of it!!! My girls were gone Saturday, so it was just us and the boys.....The boys didn't even get a taste!! O well another MONTH and another WEEK!! Tomorrow its nothing but induction!!!

Well, now that you got all that out of your system time for a clean start, right? Don't worry about the pie... just keep it clean the rest of the day. That TOM thing was my issue too Tommie, but the deal with me is I don't even have the regular period anymore and STILL have to deal with all the hormonal stuff. Arrgghhh!!! It is SO aggravating!!

LOL Kim... actually I think it was that man in the Garden who did it to us!!! But I guess Eve had a hand in that too didn't she, since she looked at that luscious apple and couldn't resist! Funny .... that temptation still seems to go on and on and on .... doesn't it??

Well, I had 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 1/2 cup of pineapple in juice for my morning snack and looks like I have one more serving of each to finish off those and they'll be gone. Then I'll work on the yogurt.

Ugh... trying to do some stuff outside and it is just SO hot. Course it is noon LOL but I always want to do it when I FEEL like doing it, NOT when the temperature outside is right! Talk about a control freak, eh??

Rose ... beautiful picture!!! We can really see you now! Whew!! Glad it's not 102 here! Unfortunately with the heat index factored in from the high humidity we have, that comes to the high 90s already, so we're not too far behind you. I've got a headache already just from going in and out in it. Ugh! Bet you are ready for a "cooler" climate! Oh and good luck on the bid!!

Rose - hope the house bid goes through for you. Seems it's really hot there, we're still kind of cold here in Canada. I wish warm weather would come soon. It's been a weird weather year here for sure. Last year we were dying in humidity at this time.
