sour pickles

I dont know if anyone ever asked about this before but i was reading the 72 atkins book and on page 137 he says instead of having a salad you can replace it with a sour pickle. I don't really get the reasoning for this, but i'd much rather have a pickle then a salad because its about 100X easier.

so..

Is a sour pickle pretty much just a normal pickle that comes in a jar?

thanks

Hi. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Dr. A was refering to a good old standard dill, as opposed to any other kind of pickle that might be sweetened. Good luck!
