Notice when you start losing weight you get real flabby? Like your fat used to be kind of smooth and packed and then it is just droopy or something? Man.
Ing - I just won the Callanetics DVD on Ebay for $15.50, beats the $24.99 + shipping at Amazon.. I was bidding over the weekend. I lost a couple of them, then I won this one. My problem now is I still have open bids on another one, even though I already won one. I hope they will let me cancel. This was my first time on Ebay too.

hmschool- I don't like the advantage shakes- I like the low carb slimfast better, also EAS drinks are even better, but they're expensive. EAS is made w/filtered water, and they don't have that thick taste to them.

Kim- forgot to say Sunday was my 3rd day of induction, and for some reason the 3rd day is the worst for me, crave everything, maybe it's our bodies gettin rid of bad stuff!

Morning Ladies!

Hmschool--I don't buy any Atkins branded products. I haven't found any that don't have a bunch of carbs (not "net carbs"). Since I have to dose insulin for all carbs, and am trying to minimize the dosage, it is a no-go on Atkins. Even though some of the bars look tasty.

I have had egg creams with whey protein added as a meal replacement. I make them in the blender and it only takes a couple minutes. But I do find that drinking my calories doesn't make me as full as eating them--I get a lot more mileage out of a 2-egg omelette than a 2-egg egg cream.

Finally, I have tried Slimfast shakes in the past--both the ones in cans and the ones you make yourself with milk--and, all maybe 6 times I did it, I was nauseated to the point of actually vomiting. That pretty well threw me off of canned shakes in general and Slimfast for sure.

Brandi, thanks for the nice words! I didn't post any poop pix, happy day for every one!

I need to do better on the Diet Coke cutting, but I DID order myself some more stevia so I am getting stocked up on that.

Kim, let me know how you like the Callanetics thing. I got mine for fairly cheap like that. In all honesty, I am just about positive it is a well-done bootleg DVD, but in all practicality it doesn't make a difference for doing the exercises. It is helping, but it would help poor if I was more aggressive about doing it and wasn't such a pansy. I, too, have a dog issue for floor exercises, but mine don't hump (ick!). The Pommie boys climb on top of my stomach and the poodlie girl licks my face and tries to snudge her way under my hands for some pets.

Kathy, you are out there somewhere, and we are all pulling for your mom and rest of your family!

Hello and Happy Monday (that is an oxymoron...) to all the other ladies--Shala, Mary, Tommie, Terie, Rena, Diana and Kitty (whereever they may be!), and anyone else my Monday-morning noggin is missing!

Morning Kim, Hmschool, Brandi, Ing, Jen and the rest of our gals who've yet to grace us with their shining faces this morning! It's a beautiful day here in south Mississippi and I have LOTS of yardwork to catch up this week on since I goofed all weekend...

Did TERRIBLE with my eating too - I broke out the cookbooks and hit on a Trisha Yearwood recipe and well, let's just leave it at that! Need to get back to my balanced eating - haven't been following the plan since Mother's Day really. See what getting away from your plan can do??

Kim, hope you don't have to buy two DVDs... oops!

Hmschool, haven't ever tried the Atkins shakes but I did like the Slimfast low carb ones on occasion, but ONLY if they were icy cold. Otherwise they were yucky to me. Shakes are good if you just can't manage to get in a meal but like Ing, I much prefer a meal over a shake anyday! My preference would be to just mix up my own shake with fresh ingredients. Doesn't take that long and at least you know what your drinking. Still, sometimes that's not practical so the canned shakes are handy.

Brandi, congrats on getting to 140! Keep it up... Maui is around the corner! Thanks ... that's a picture off of our front beach. Even though that beautiful calm Gulf can become evil in a hurricane, that beauty is exactly why people live here. I used to love driving Highway 90 just to see the sunrise and sunset because it is so beautiful. So much is of our life is centered around that water too. The Blessing of the Fleet is coming up (where the shrimp boats get blessed for an abundant catch!) and I am excited to hear that the fais do do (street fair) is coming back this year!!!

Hey Ing! Nice to "see" you!! Okay, that's it... I'm gonna take a new picture but with MY sunglasses too!!! Can you imagine if we all did that? I'm sure we'd become the talk of LCFs. Oh and thanks for not sharing the colored poop pictures!

Jen, sounds like you had fun with the shopping. I haven't bought anything off of ebay in awhile, but it can be a bit addictive. A lot of times I have looked at things there, I actually found them cheaper elsewhere once you factor in shipping, so you have to be careful for sure. Don't forget, pictures when they get in your hands, or on your feet! I haven't worn heels in so long, that I probably couldn't even walk in shoes like that.

Kathy thinking about you and praying for your mom.

Cathy thinking about what fun you must be having with Mickey too!!

Shala, you must've started your summer vacation ... didn't even see you all weekend did we? We missed ya, Miss Apple Queen!!

Hey Tommie!!! How was your weekend??

Who am I missing??

Gotta run to the grocery store for dog food and a handful of staples... ugh. Then home to do a few chores before going to babysit grandson then across the bridge to Biloxi for a graduation tonight. Probably won't get much done in the yard today. Oh darn.

BRANDI! I completely missed the 140!!!! YAHOO!

I couldn't live without a dog! (I am easily living without a husband....). In fact, with FOUR dogs, this must really be living! But I do dig the idea of housebreaking the chillins first...good grief, I deal with dog poops, more horse poops that you can imagine, but baby poops is just plain NASTY!

Morning, Mary! Indeed, you need to get an avi with some stylin' shades!

It is COLD here in Michigan but there have been enough warm days that the grass is looking pretty wild. Thinks I have to actually fire up the lawnmower. That is IT for yardwork for this kid...

I gotta post this, I made an awesome brekkie.

2 eggs
1 T whey protein
1 T bake mix (homemade version)
1/4 T baking powder
3-4 caps French Vanilla DV syrup
1 t cream

Beat beat beat, cook in butter in a non-stick pan as one gigantic pancake. While first side cooks, chop an ounce or so of walnuts. Sprinkle half or more over the batter. Flip when the top is full of bubbles and everything looks "set". Cook second side briefly and slide onto plate. Top with butter pats, 2-3 T SF maple syrup (I have Smuckers, which is OK), and the rest of the walnuts. YUMMO, as Rachael Ray would say! I am psyched...I can still taste it! I ate 3/4 (1/4 of everything goes to the pooch brood) for 566 calories, about 13 carbs (Splenda carbs are tough to figure), 28 grams protein. Kind of a lot of my daily "budget" for brekkie but I will just have salad for lunch and am going out for a roast chicken dinner later on. This was definitely something I will order again!

Morning Everyone!!! WAHOO....BOSS IS GONE!! Well today is my day off, I'm only in for a bit!! My kiddo's are now officially out of school!! My girls both had basket ball camp today....Then tonight, my Middle daughter has two ballgames 45 miles away! One doesn't even start until 9:00!! That will make me get home after 11!!! If I'm lucky!! O well....thats the price of being parents!!

Well I done pretty good eating this weekend!! My only cheat was fried mushrooms and low carb ice cream!! And even after eating those, my ketone stick was still pink!! So maybe they weren't as bad as I thought!! The family stopped at Braums for ice cream and I couldn 't resist!! But thank goodness they had low carb!! OMG!! It was wonderful too!!

No weight loss to report!! I was actually up a couple of lbs!! What the heck?? O well...If I'm still in Ketosis, I've gotta be doing something right??? RIGHT??

What a great group of buds you girls are... Thanks so much for the well wishes and prayers. She has been in surgery since 8:00 a.m. and it is now 11:30. They were not sure they would be able to repair or have to do a complete re-do! I came and stayed with them last night so I could be here before she went in for the surgery. Luckily I remembered the laptop and have been semi-sucessful (now anyway) at getting it to connect to their wi-fi. My sis and niece are here as well, so we have been getting caught up and planning our annual trip up north (I shared all the sf drink recipes, Ing!).
More later!

Ing, know what you mean about the yard. We've had a couple of strong downpours here lately - almost 4 inches a couple days ago. DH had just mowed and it needs it again already!

Brandi, I just realized you are only 10 pounds from your goal!!!! You can do this... no cheatin' you hear??!!! Here's a link for the rolls The Original Atkins Diet Revolution Roll and Tweaks

Hurricane season. You're gonna be sorry you asked!!! Well... what can I say? It's such a part of our lives that it's just a normal process. You prepare for the worse and hope for the best. Right now we start checking and stocking up on supplies (batteries, bottled water, canned and shelf staple foods, load up bags of ice in the freezer, etc.), testing out the generator every month, stockpiling a few 5 gallon cans of gas. We have hurricane shutters on all of our windows and patio - look like regular shutters but they fold in and bolt down over the windows. We have crates for the dogs and cats - cats go with me in the Mustang, dogs in the truck with DH. I keep a file box on the ready for evacuation - contains all of the important papers and legal documents, marriage license, insurance papers, birth certificates, some extra money. And then you just obsessively watch the weather channel when a storm heads toward the Gulf of Mexico, watch and pray and fret till it lands somewhere - hopefully somewhere in the uninhabited parts of Mexico!!

We don't evacuate until it looks like a direct threat or reaches above a category 3. Sometimes we just book a hotel further inland, sometimes we go to a friends house in Alabama, just depends. I'll never forget the morning we woke up and Katrina had turned into a category 5 overnight. Even though it was heading to west Louisiana I knew we had to leave. Thank God we did, because it turned and hit the mouth of the Mississippi River instead - and we all know the rest. Having lived through Camille too in 1969, I knew in my heart sitting in Alabama that day that the Coast would be wiped out when we got back. Truthfully I did not expect my house to be here when we got back, and many of my neighbors did face that. Thankfully, our house was spared and we did not have to face that.

WOW MARY- I'm really thankful to live in Ohio. That is a lot of preparing you have to do!!! Didn't realize how much!! I'm gonna hate hearing if there's a hurricane now, since your down there!!!
Thanks for posting the oopsie roll. Thought I'd give them a try. If I make it to 135 I'll be satisfied. Thought I'd be satisified at 140 when I weighed 162 last August. Now I'm 140 and still not happy. Think I mainly just need to do some aerobics to get in shape. Just need the energy!!
